  1. It's when you call the NVC hotline at 1 603 334 0700 option 1 (5x), enter your case#, then 1... and you get a message something like "...NVC will mail blah blah blah to the beneficiary..." The key word is Beneficiary. You'll get this message when you call in early Tuesday morning. Your bill date will be that Monday, after hearing that message on a Tuesday.

I really appreciate your quick reply. I just called the customer service and it says the case number assigned on Aug 16 in the NVC computer system. and please allow us 6 to 8 weeks something like that. actually I heard the BENEFICIARY like you said.

My question is since the case number was entered into the system on Aug 16th, I guess the bill must have generated Aug 20. Should I put "Aug 20" for the bill date when I send the AOS fee bill for $70 using James shortcuts.

Also can I send an email to them for the DS 3032.

Please let me know. I will wait for your reply and then email them.

Again I relly appreciate your help. Thankyou very much.

    Welcome!

And to answer your question: Noooo! Do not send in the DS-3032 and AoS fee bill until you hear from the automated message that they have been generated. The case number is generated first, then it'll take about 2-3 weeks for them to generate your AoS and Choice of Agent forms.

The NVC is about 2 weeks behind on checking email, so do like RandyandRina did-overnight the DS-3032.

  2. National City Bank here from my side....... Guys why is california service centre this way..... are all cali service centre people goen for holidays or to hollywood..... Just GOD DO SOME THING PLEASE>>>>>>>>>>>>> PLEASE GOD..... thank you friends again... i will be calling my wife and breaking my head with her... what to do next.... i am impatient .... i confess that... because my case is current now....

    Jigi

Uhhh...why you calling the CSC for you IV bill?

    You mean National Visa Center??

  3. IMHO, since it seems like the K3 and CR1 routes are taking the same amount of time, then you might as well go the CR1 route because he'll have the green card in the end. And USCIS just upped the cost of adjustment of status, so it will cost less to go the CR1 route.

I doubt if your husband can stay here on a B1 visa while you are undergoing the marriage-based visa process, because it is a non-immigrant visa. You'll need to find that out.

But he can visit during the process.

Good luck and keep us updated! :)

  4. I have been still struggling through my initial research and from what I can gather, the I-129F is for the non US spouse to get into the U.S.? My husband already has a valid B1/B2 visa until 2010, can we skip this step?

So your husband has a B1/B2 visa, which is the business visitor visa...and it's valid until 2010? Wow. Cool.

Anyhoo. Since the B1 is a non-immigrant visa, I don't know if you can apply for adjustment of status from your B1/B2.

  5. Jigi,

The NVC doesn't set up special task forces to find lost money, although it would be nice if they did. I joke about it in my signature. I'm so sorry to hear about them not cashing your money order yet, but it does seem like they've been really slow in cashing the IV bills. You're not the only one to wonder if your IV bill has been cashed, even after 10-14 days. I'd suggest that you call them tomorrow again and explain the situation to the operator. Be patient and kind, ask them for help and be persistent. Hopefully someone will find out more information.

Don't be mad, we're all in the same boat as you are and we're here to help even if it is just as a pair of ears to listen.

  6. You know, even saving two weeks makes a difference. That's two weeks more to spend with your loved one instead of waiting on the phone at the NVC who is very happy I called...and thanks me for holding...because my call is valuable to them....

As far as the choice of agent form, it seems like overnighting the form via USPS instead of emailing it is the faster route. You can do that as soon as the form has been generated-don't wait to receive the form!

  7. Just called NVC, they are done scheduling for September, and no interview. (On top of that I had to speak to the rude #^$%@& named Roberto again.)

No words to explain how crushed I am right now. I have to leave my husband again in a week with still no end in sight. I'm not sure how much longer I can hold onto my sanity

Misty, you're so close I see an interview for you in October! And it's nice that US and Canadian folks can see each other on a semi-regular basis, let's be grateful that our spouses can come and see us during the visa application process.

    Congrats Thermophile!!

    :)

  8. Why haven't you already mailed your choice of agent back to the NVC? The Choice of Agent and AoS are two separate "tracks", and can be mailed separately. In other words, don't wait to send in your choice of agent if your spouse has already signed it!

Check out the NVC flowchart, in the Guides section of VJ to see the process.

Have you looked at James's Shortcuts? Here is the link:

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=117

Because the NVC can receive the Choice of Agent and AoS fee bill on the day that they were generated (but not before then), you can use James's shortcuts to "make" your own AoS fee bill and send it in to the St. Louis PO Box.

    :)

  9. I would say that all things are equal money wise, now that USCIS the cost of removing the conditions from the CR1 visa is $545. But in terms of time, it seems like it is taking the same amount of time to get a CR1/IR1 as it will for a K3. So, might as well get the CR1 because that way you won't have to go through the 'adjustment of status' process.

    Good luck! :)
