Hello, please can someone tell me what i can do, we are on an F4 family immigration visa, i was placed under AP and handed ds-5535.

90 days have passed now, and i have received 6 updated but still AP. MY MOTHER, FATHER AND SISTER received their visa and will be travelling before the expiry.

which means i will be left behind, is this normal or you think they will issue me a visa?

i am only 19 years and i was asked to submit travel history for the past 15 years.

After how much time other family members got visas?

So I got this DS5535 after 2.5weeks in being on AP but now refused. I filled the answers and emailed them back because that was asked. Now my question is how do I know that they have recieved my email. Also i know the people who get these have to wait a year and so. But are there any one who got rid of this in a month or two??? Would love to know about thier cases.

    Visa category F4

    Islamabad embassy.

One of my relatives category f4 Islamabad embassy got ds5535 for 17 years old. They got there visas within 2 months after interview.

Hi fellows.I have been in A.P From FEB 2018(IR-1) category.last week my CEAC status changed from A.P to EXPIRED.It says your petition is cancelled until you pursue. If you are still interested in obtaining an immigrant visa petitioner should contact USCIS regarding filling new immigrant petition.I am not computer frendly but as soon i figure out i will post the picture of CEAC window.

Did they ask about any document or Ds5535 (additional questions form) which you have not submitted after interview?

Thank you for giving the confirmation. I really hope to hear a good news sometime this month. It’s been 4 months now and haven’t heard back. No responses to inquiries either.

Hmm Hopefully you will hear good news soon.Mine also has not updated since 6 December almost 3 months.Do not worry stay focused.I have seen cases which get no update but after few months they get visas. Most of the cases which were solved did not update for more than 2 months before issuence of visa.Lets hope we all hear good news soon.

On the 221g form, is it okay to have a check mark on the first option which is basically requiring additional document?

Yeah its normal.People who are asked to submit documents have tick on first option of 221g.I have seen many cases like yours most of them were solved witinin 3 months.Just pray and stay focused.InshAllah you will hear good news soon.

Hi Everyone - I need your help. My wife had her CR1 interview on Feb 7th., 2020. At the end of the interview, the CO approved her visa and advised her that she'll be getting her passports within 2 weeks. Since then, the case status is stuck to 'Ready' and case update dates have been updated. On Feb 18th,  Immigration Visa Unit from the embassy emailed us with the following questions:

    Dear Applicant/Petitioner,

We have recently reviewed your immigrant visa case. To move forward, please provide us with the following:

    • Did applicant ever apply for a US visa in the past?
    • Has applicant ever changed her name?
    • Original previous passports.

Once submitted, please send us a confirmation email at https://pk.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visa-inquiries/.

    Sincerely,

    Immigrant Visa Unit

    US Embassy, Islamabad

    UA

    My questions are:

    1.  Why embassy is asking about it when her visa was approved by the Interview Officer?
    2. We have already submitted the explanation and her old passport via the courier? How can we contact US Embassy Islamabad and ask for an update since it has more than 3 weeks since her visa approval? We sent the old passport via the courier server. Her last case update was of Feb 26th, 2020 but the case still shows as 'Ready' status

Note: The reason why her passport was changed because she had FNU on her case since in the passport Surname field was Blank. We asked NVC to remove FNU from her name by providing them the new passport

Any help would be greatly appreciated

This is a positive sign they might need the information for issuance of visa. Its normal to not get visa after being approved in interview.Just pray that they issue visa as soon as possible.

Finally after almost waiting for 2 years in AP. I have been in AP since April 26 2018 until today, it got issued. I DID FILE A MANDAMUS and I think that was the only way that took me out of AP. file the mandamus maybe after you really feel you are fed up and tried everything to get your visa. all embassies are so busy and that is why they are taking so much time in AP. everyone is trying to get into the U.S, so might as well you do it the right way and the legal way. best of luck to everyone :)

Congratulations!!!!!  2 years is  a long time.Glad to hear you finally got your visa.Good luck.

hello i guess we are have a similar case as yours,

we are on an f4 visa, our interview was on 12 september 2019, we are a family of 4.

my wife is the  main applicant and both my 19 year old son and wife were issued ds5535 and put on AP.

55 days later my wife (main applicant) , me and my daughter were issued visas, but my son has been on AP for the past 5 months with around 6 updates , last one being on november 2019.

Hopefully your son also gets his visa early.Good to hear that you got your visas after 55 days.We are still waiting and none of the family member has got any visa.
