  1. I came to the US on a K1 visa and recently received my greencard. I did not apply for a work permit during this time either. As I was waiting for my greencard before I start applying for jobs.

And I just found a job, but the Social Security Office is closed due to the pandemic and they won't even pick up their phones either. I don't know what to do. Like my whole life is on pause due to the Social Security Office being closed. Can't get a license, can't get health insurance and I can't even start my job. I just hope my job offer doesn't get retaken. Anybody have this same issue with the SS office?

Such great information, thank you so much for posting! Quick question, is the DS-160 an application? I went on the link you provided and it requested that a photo is to be submitted, is that normal? I thought it was a form to be printed out not an application? Thank you for your assistance!

Yes the DS-160 is an online application that needs to be filled out. And yes it asks for a photograph to be uploaded as well. I had difficulty with the photo Bc there is a file size requirement that was difficult to meet. Once you complete the application there is a one page confirmation page that you print out and bring with you to the interview.

  3. Not to rub it in for anybody but I just wanted to let you guys know that the Kabul Embassy is issuing K-1 visa. My fiancé was issued the visa about 1.5 months after the interview. I guess I just got lucky or something but all in all I am extremely thankful bc I know people have waited years to get a visa and my fiancé got it in about 10 months. Alhamdulillah

My fiancé’s is tomorrow too. In a regular passport photo the ears show anyway. I think it’s for women who need to show ears under the hijab. I think the family photos is for those who are applying for a family visa? I followed the attachment the embassy sent when they scheduled the interview rather than the confusing confirmation for the medical.

Hope that helps.  Good luck to the both of them tomorrow

Yah she does wear a hijab and for the medical they didn’t specify if ears need to be shown or not like the passport photos.

Yah that’s what I was thinking about the family photos as well since she is not coming with her family.

Good luck to both of them.

  5. After your case reaches time for an interview appointment these are the documents your fiancé needs to compile and bring to their interview.

Please bring the following required documentation to your interview:

    ·         Form DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application, completed.   Please bring the DS-160 confirmation page to the interview.    Link:  https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/  Note: You must select the “K” visa class.

    ·         Passport valid for travel to the United States and with a validity date at least six months beyond your entrance in the U.S. (unlesscountry-specific agreements provide exemptions)

    ·         Taskera (Original Dari version) and MFA-certified English translation.

    ·         Divorce or death certificate(s) of any previous spouse(s) for both you and the U.S. citizen petitioner

    ·         Medical examination report from Panel Physician.  For information on scheduling your medical examination, please see attached AMC medical brochure.

    ·         AMC will deliver your completed medical report directly to the Embassy.  At the time of interview, please inform the Embassy staff of the date of your medical appointment.

    ·         Evidence of financial support: Form I-134, Affidavit of Support.

    ·         Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for 6 months or more since age 16.

Note: Unless otherwise directed by a consular officer at your interview, Police certificates ARE NOT required for Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan. Please see information on how to obtain a police certificate for other counties: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country.html

    ·         Two (2) photographs.  Requirements:  2”x 2”/5cmx5cm forward facing photo with ears showing on white background.  Please write the applicant name and case number on the back side of each photo.

    ·         Evidence of relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e): Photos, call records, etc. The Consular Officer may ask for additional information, such as photographs and other proof that the relationship with your U.S. citizen fiancé(e) is genuine.

i have recieved an email from NVC that they will forward my petition on july 23 2019, it has been almost a month now i havent recieved any notification if the embassy recieved my packet. At this point do i contact the embassy and ask if they recieved my i29f for k1 visa .

do i also wait for another letter for further instructions on what to do like assigning me an interview date  or  fill in the ds160 .i am clueless.

i hope you can give me some advice thank you so much !

Yah so same thing happened with me.

Two months from receiving the letter from the NVC with them stating that my I-129f was sent I received another letter from the embassy stating my interview date and what to bring.

So at this point I would just wait until the embassy emails you with an interview date and items to bring to the interview as well.

You can contact the embassy to see if they received your case at KabulIV@state.gov.

In the mean time you can fill out the DS-160 online and gather the documents for the affidavit of support.

We don't know, most of us are from other embassy's so I doubt we will be able to help. Track down some others from your embassy and ask for their help. Select your flag and it will populate a new page whereupon there is a way of finding others from your country. Oh BTW, did you send an email to the embassy with your case number, your full names and birth dates.

Yah so there are not that many people from where my fiancé is from on here, but I’ll give it a try.

And yah I had all that information in the subject of the email and in the body of the email as well.

  8. It's been a long process and finally we are waiting for interview phase...I want to know if there's anyone else waiting for an interview or has gone through the visa interview in Kabul, Afghanistan. My case has been sent from the NVC on June 11 2019 to the Kabul Embassy. I emailed the Embassy on June 30 2019 asking about my case status to which they said, "Our office has received your fiancee’s visa application and her case is currently in our appointment queue.  As soon as an appointment becomes available, we will contact you with further instructions." I emailed them again on July 20 2019 to which they said, "As previously indicated, your finance's visa application is currently in our appointment queue.  As soon as an appointment becomes available, we will contact you with further instructions." It's almost 2 months that my case is at the Embassy and waiting for an interview date. Is it usually for the Embassy to take this long in appointing an interview date.
