You mistake my statement for a statement against organized religion. It is not. Organized religion has done enough good in the world to be deserving of praise and respect, despite all the warts.
Atheism, at least today, is pretty disorganized. But roam the halls of atheism on the Internet and you'll find hatred, envy and some of the vilest behavior to be found on all the Internet.
Organized or disorganized makes no difference in that regard, because people are people and some people are assbags.
Organization enables enlightened leadership to do greater good than a bunch of well meaning atheists working individually can ever hope to accomplish.
Organization also enables great evil, by the same token.

Feds release all cows gathered during NV roundup

Federal land managers confirmed they released all 400 or so head of cattle rounded up on public land in southern Nevada from a rancher who has refused to recognize their authority.
The Bureau of Land Management took the action Saturday afternoon after hundreds of states' rights protesters, including militia and tea party members, showed up at corrals outside Mesquite to demand the animals' return to rancher Cliven Bundy.
The bureau issued a brief statement saying the cattle were released "due to escalating tensions." Some protesters were armed with handguns and rifles at the corrals and at an earlier nearby rally.
Las Vegas Police Lt. Dan Zehnder said the showdown was resolved with no injuries and no violence. Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie was able to negotiate a resolution after talking with Bundy, he said.
The release came only hours after Bureau of Land Management chief Neil Kornze announced an abrupt halt to the weeklong roundup because of safety concerns.
The fight between Bundy and the Bureau of Land Management widened into a debate about states' rights and federal land-use policy. The bureau revoked Bundy's grazing rights after he stopped paying grazing fees and disregarded federal court orders to remove his animals. The dispute that ultimately triggered the roundup dates to 1993, when the bureau cited concern for the federally protected tortoise in the region.
Kornze's announcement came after Bundy repeatedly promised to "do whatever it takes" to protect his property and after a string of raucous confrontations between his family members and supporters and federal agents during the weeklong operation.
"Based on information about conditions on the ground and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concerns about the safety of employees and members of the public," Kornze said in a statement.

I think you are basing your facts on an organization which has kind of discredited its self.

The ladies working the street corner nearby work hard for a living. Bernie Madoff worked hard at pilfering from people. Mohammad Atef and his croonies work hard for their desired outcome as well. All sorts of criminals work very diligently at their activities.
I would think that working hard at honest (i.e., legal) work is a better measure of respectability.

You may not like the terminology, but I wonder if you can name a conservative or Libertarian who has knowingly or unknowingly circumvented US immigration law and then had an expectation that the law they broke should be changed so they would benefit from their law-breaking?

Small manageable immigration which serves our interest and priorities is not a problem.
Thats not what we have we have tons of people often at the lowest level of skill and income laying the social burden of educating their kids, medicating their family and feeding them at home and school.
Tell me how a $10. an hour immigrant pays enough in taxes to cover even the cost of educating his 3 kids? When in fact he gets a refund at tax time rather than pay anything in?

In hind sight, my words were to harsh as for the conditions of her arrival as a child.
I still maintain she is in the position she is because of her actions and those of her family.
Kick her out, I'm betting there are a lot of teens in he home country which would have been a credit to her adopted community and not a drag.
It should not be encumbered on us as a nation to "afford every opportunity" of forgiveness to the immigrant, legal or otherwise.

Undocumented ILLEGAL immigrants should be more lawful and careful.
the fact remains this 18 year old illegal immigrant committed a felony and admitted to it. Those are the facts. She is an admitted drug dealer who sold drugs to children... She did not get a real job to work for what she wanted. The government should deport her and she has the right to hire an attorney to defend her.
You want to defend her solely because she is an illegal immigrant..? Isn't that also discriminatory.??
What would you want done if an old white guy sold pot brownies to your children so he could get money for a new surf board.?? Would you be happy if he did not receive a harsh sentence.??

See you've already zoomed right by the fact that these people broke laws to get here, and didn't follow the legal immigration process. I got a newsflash for you sunshine, I worked with 100s of H1B engineers. Mostly from south Asia. This is how it went. They were basically abused and made to work super long hours writing code etc. In the mean time they lived in 1 or 2 bedroom apartments with 5-10 people in each apartment. They then sent every spare nickel they had back to their foreign families. Sounds awesome, eh? I'd hardly call that job creation unless you're talking about Western Union agents.
To your point about foreign spouses. In just about every case that I know where a USC brought a foreign spouse here, most of them either don't work, or work some token part time job. And guess what, we brought them here LEGALLY. We didn't sneak them in across the border illegally and then start complaining when they weren't treated fairly.

What I find interesting is the same folks who run like heII to defend min-thug trayvon are the first ones to
help take even more jobs and opportunity away from those SOBs (sons of Obama).
Whose jobs do you think those cherished immigrants are after?
The other day I went through a new development that just sprung up. I saw there what I have seen for a decade now.... nearly all Hispanics working....... doing the same jobs I used to see Black crews doing.
Cement / mason work *****
Painters ****
Landscaping *****
Roofing**
Siding.**
Floor coverings.****
I never see a Black crew any more except for one that does my neighbors yard.
All those black owned business are gone and so are those "first jobs" for drop-outs like trayvon or young men looking to learn a trade.
Those semi-skilled jobs often were the first step to Blacks starting on of the path toward the cheapest businesses start up you can get into.
Bottom line.
There is no one more harmed by this mass immigration than Blacks without a college degree.
And I have to chuckle to myself to see how Blacks are being played by thinking they are in some "solidarity" with those wanting their livelihood.
Black power brokers are cashing in the futures of their own people .... with deal making they are getting rich and all they got to do is deliver Black support.
Immigration is just another nail in the coffin of Black society.
If I am wrong, tell me one thing mass immigration has done for Blacks?
