  • Our Story
I am the MOM of Mike (USC- state of CT). Mike has just married Helene (K1- France). They are registered here (RoastMB)and you can read about their successful saga so far.
I have been helping them find information on the Internet about the process. So far, so good...thanks to the help of everyone here and other forums on the net.

They are now married and she has her 90 day EAD (was stamped in at JFK airport upon arrival). She has changed her name on her SSN (she had one from her J1 time), changed her CT driver's license to reflect her new name (that was fast and no fee!! woo hoo).

We are now busy filling out the paperwork for I-485, extended EAD and the advance Parole.

Mike and Helene went on a US- cross the US road trip last summer. I included a URL they made to share their trip with us as they drove along. It is in French and English. Note: they joke a lot with silly photos (the yellow signs they doctored to be silly....and they were teasing me about being married in Las Vegas...(not true..just a joke). He is on the phone all the time with me...lol. I was the MAPPOINT navigator....as they traveled. With our phones we can talk 24/7 to each other .

Mike is fluent in French (he passes for French...has a good ear and ability to mimic sounds, I suppose)..and Helene is fluent in English and has a beautiful voice and laugh.

I am the luckiest Mom-in-law...because Helene is perfect for Mike.
