So, we finally called on 7/24 to ask why we still haven't received the biometrics appointment notice. At this point, it's been 69 days since our NOA1 and we just wanted to know if the letter was actually sent but lost in the mail, or was never actually sent, etc. After being on hold for almost 45 minutes, all they told us was that they'll open a service request and basically to call back in 2 weeks if we don't hear anything from them.

Well, today (7/27), I decided to check Informed Delivery (at this point, I'm just getting sick of waiting and physically opening our mailbox to find nothing) and I was so excited to see a letter from USCIS. I definitely thought it was the appointment notice, but unfortunately, it's just about the service request we opened. For a second there, they got me thinking that they actually work faster on the case after you open a service request... 🤦‍♀️

    Anyway, according to the letter:

"Biometrics appointments are scheduled based upon set protocols related to each application/petition and/or their associated processing times. You will be scheduled for and be notified of an appointment at the appropriate time."

So, that basically means they haven't even thought about scheduling us. I honestly don't know what's taking so long because we haven't received anything from them since NOA1, not even a RFIE/RFE. I'm just dying to know what's holding them back from scheduling us.

4 whole months of waiting later… finally received a bio appointment notice! My appointment is on 09/30/2019. Definitely way, way later than expected, but I’m so glad I finally got scheduled

    Got our biometrics today!

It was sent on the 12th. This was a 50 day differential from our NOA

Interestingly, this biometric notice is for the EAD. The office I will be attending is very fast and efficient historically compared to other locations. As such the AOS is 99% of the time granted before the EAD is even looked at.

Is anyone aware of whether this biometrics is perhaps covering the AOS application and some system setup has meant that the EAD was printed as the application type?

I have my biometrics appointment notice! Finally! It's on 1 August at midday, a mere 69 days after my NOA1. The notice date is 7/12, so it was processed just before I put in my service request.

I hope everyone else still waiting gets their biometrics notice soon.

    NOA 1 May 20

funny enough, it seems like all of us have the 7/12 as processing date on the letter

So happy for you guys! Still waiting for mine — 66 days & counting. Hope we receive the letter soon!

  4. Hi, everyone! New to this forum.

    05/10/2019: I-485, I-130, I-765, & I-131 sent via USPS Priority Mail

05/13/2019: Package delivered to Chicago Lockbox

05/16/2019: NOA received for all 4 applications via text message

    05/17/2019: Checks cleared

05/20/2019: NOA letters received through mail (all dated 05/16/2019)

As of 06/29/2019, the myUSCIS status for all 4 applications still says, "We received your case. You do not need to do anything at this time. We will let you know if we need anything else from you as we continue to review your case." Is this normal? Hubby and I are getting anxious waiting for the biometrics letter.
