Aussiewench or Someone else with any information...
Last week my fiance (beneficiary) was sent a letter notifying him that I must fax over a letter asking for an extension of our petition. He went in June for his interview and everything went fine except he needed to get police clearance from Granada. That took 2 months! He finally sent it back to Sydney Sep 25th, then he got that letter (the same week). Of course I immediately faxed a letter requesting an extension and stating my intention to still marry him etc... I noticed that you had uploaded a form for that extension on here. Right now we are waiting. Im on pins and needles. We were all done. They even sent him a welcome packet to the US. Im just wondering, what if that petition expired and i didnt realize it, will they still do it? We were approved for out fiance petition in April. His interview went well (in June) and that stupid police thing took forever!! So now we are waiting to see if they release his visa. I PRAY! OMG! Should I call them? Should I use your form you uploaded? I mean I thought my was fine. I dont know...
Stressing.
What do you think? Everything has gone perfectly up to this point. They didnt say the petition expired just that it was nearing the expiration and for me to fax the letter. Which I did. Any insight?

And I thought I was all alone...

omeysgirl,
There has been some anecdotal evidence that the consulate in London does not ask for financial information from the petitioner when someone else is the sponsor, but I do not recall seeing any reports on the issue from Australia or elsewhere.
Perhaps you can be the first? Prepare a sponsorship package, but have your finace submit only the sponsorship information from the other person who you have found to sponsor him. Have him keep your information in his back pocket unless and until it is asked for. Then let us know what happens.
Yodrak
if I use a co-sponsor, do I still fill out a I-134 as well even though I dont make enough?Yeah, thats what I plan on doing. Thanks Yodrak

for the I-134 form do they need your past 3 yrs tax forms? I saw the part about the employer needing to fill out my work information. I really confused about all this.
And I dont understand Yodrak, if the sponsor has to satisfy the requirements on their own then why need a co-sponsor??

he was asked to leave though. And he left.

No he wasnt deported.

Which forms do you actually send and which forms do you take to the interview. I know you have to send in the DS230I. Does anything else get sent with it? And which ones do you take to the interview? Once you send in the forms, thats when you should get the interview right?

I have a question. I have three daughters and only claim two on my taxes each year. All three of my girls live with me. Do I still count all of my girls, myself and my fiance? I plan on using a co-sponsor. But im a bit nervous because I really havent made that much in the last 2 yrs because I was a full time student and working part-time so my tax returns look really pathetic. My aunt who will co-sponsor makes about 50,000 a yr. How should I go about filling out the forms because ill have to do that REAL soon.
Thanks
I believe you would have to count each of your girls, because for the purposes of the Affidavit of Support, the CO's are looking for the size of your actual household...who is living with you. Are you not claiming your third daughter because she is older(making her own money) and thereby not your dependent as far as IRS is concerned?
If you use your aunt as co-sponsor, then I believe the total income (yours and your aunt's) would be looked at vis a vis the # of people in the total # in the household. (You + 3 daughters + fiance + aunt + uncle? + anyone else in aunt's household?)
As far as filling out the forms, two sets of I-134 forms are to be filled out. One with your financials, and the other with your aunt's.
Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much. Well I dont claim one of my daughters because I let her father do so. So I will make sure to add all of my girls. My aunt makes about 50,000. I have about $7,000 in savings. And even though my last two years of taxes have been under $10,000, I make about $27,000 right now at my part time job. Im looking for full time right now though. Needless to say, I was on a tight budget for a few yrs. because I wanted to finish school.
Anyway, so all together that would make a household of 7. My aunt claims my cousin even though hes away at college. Do you think that will be ok? Im so nervous about this next step because I got a letter saying that my fiance will recieve his packet within a week. So ill have to gather all the financial stuff together. Im assuming I have to fill out the I-134 forms (2 including my aunt filling out hers) but why do you have to fill out the I-184 later? That one is like 17 pages long. Very overwhelming.
Also my aunt doesnt live with me. She has her own home. Will that be a problem.

Congratulations. My I129f was approved on the 9th too. Im just wondering what exactly does that mean. Is it ok to be this excited? Still some more steps to go through. How many more steps and whats the final approval. And how do you guys get your timelines under your names?

This sounds so overwhelming. And scary. Im only at the NOA2 phase. I think i may need a co-sponsor as well. Im a bit nervous about asking for such a thing from someone. Feel like thats asking alot.

no i got the NOA1 about 10 days after. Still trying to figure out how to work this site here. And thanks, yes i know the visa wasnt approved yet thats why i said petition. Im still very excited and happy. Just wanted to know the next step but i kinda figured it out looking at other peoples timeline.

OMG! I checked my email today and it said that our petition was approved. Ok guys whats the next step. I was so happy today when i got the email, I was shaking! I am so grateful.
and how do you guys get your timeline on your profile

Wow, thank you guys so much for your quick responses. Lots of support here. I wish I would have found this site before I sent off the paperwork. According to the K-1 flowchart I should have made copies of everything. And I didnt. I can reproduce most of it but not the money order itself. UGH.

Thank you you guys for the quick responses. Now I feel better. I have another question, the NOA1 after that what happens? Will they send more paperwork to be filled out before they approve us. I read posts about them needing info about you financial situation. UGH! I hope not. NO more paperwork. Can someone specify?? Pleassse.
Thanks!

Im just curious as to how many of you used a lawyer. I didnt and now im wondering if I should have. I sent off the paperwork in Feb. and recieved the letter stating they received our petition. Now, we are just waiting for the next step. Im just worried that they could send it back if we didnt do it right. Also, what is NOA1 or NOA2. Ive seen that posted a few times and was curious. As you can see, im new here.
Thanks
