sorry the location of this post in a K-1 forum confused me. This has nothing to do with your spouse’s immigration status.

Your tickets need to be in the name of the passport.  The owner of the credit card might need to be present at check in and if they owner is you expect difficulties.

I can anticipate a secondary inspection and an admonishment from CBP to correct your passport.

    Yes, thanks for moving it.

I am going to book the tickets with the name on the passport. I checked the CBP website and they said I shouldn't have a problem when I am re-entering if I provide proof of name change. https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-1209?language=en_US

  2. Hi guys, not sure if this is the right part of the forum to post it to. I am a US citizen that applied for my fiance (now wife) to come to the US. When we got married, I made a slight change to my last name but forgot to renew my passport. We are planning a trip overseas now that my wife got her green card, but was wondering if it's ok to travel with my old name on the passport if I provided proof of name change via marriage certificate?

    Thanks

Hey, I am in the same boat. I spoke to someone today and they advised me that if your local USCIS office has been reopened for the last 90 days you can raise a service request  as you supposed to receive biometrics appointment letter within 90 days. To raise service request clink on this https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDNForm.do?sroPageType=ndn&entryPoint=init and in notice type select "Appointment". Good luck

Thank you! I just submitted that request. Let's wait and see.

  4. Hello guys,

Hope everyone is safe and sound!

My fiance arrived in the US on October 26th, and we were married on December 8th (within the 90 days). We still haven't applied for the AOS. From what I've been reading, it's still okay to apply now? Do I need to add any additional documents?

Also, has anyone recently applied and could send over the checklist of what is needed? It would be much appreciated!

Thanks @Greenbaum. Appreciate the links. And yes have reviewed the PDF as well.

Word in the regional forum seems to be that you can schedule without receiving the letter, but we may wait a bit. Just need to complete DS-160 and pay the fee. Because of the mail in Mexico, sometimes the letters never arrive. And you can get a letter at the consulate as you mention, which is necessary to bring to all of the appointments.

If it helps anyone, I did receive a letter via email from the NVC when they sent out the packet yesterday which had the DOS case number. And our status has already changed to "ready" in CEAC, even though the physical shipment hasn't even left Boston much less arrived at CDJ.

I seem to be in the same boat as you. NVC received my case from USCIS last Monday, but I still haven't received an email from NVC with the DOS number. Do I need that in order to apply for the DS-160?
