  1. hi! Fingerprints expire so if I were you I would go, better safe than sorry. In my case I moved and put in a change of address but never got the appointment to go for the 2nd fingerprint and the denied my husband case. Although I check the status of the case online often, call the reps. and on 3 occasion have gone to an infopass. They never informed us that he needed to get fingerprinted again, all we heard from them is that the case is still being process. Please go to your appointment.

  2. Did you only do the on-line AR-11 address change? Or did you also send in the sponsor I-865 address change notice? The I-865 address change notice is the ONLY form that will generate an NOA reply from USCIS, and will notify the district office to mail any further notices to the new address. The AR-11 does not do that.

And I think that even with INFOPASS being notified of your new address, that still won't take the place of the I-865.

We did the AR-11, which is what we got from the USCIS website. Now they have the option to change the address online but at the time that we moved last year that was not available. No information was given to us about another form. We checked online and call the reps. Form AR-11 was all we hard of.

  3. Hi :) ! thanks for the response. we made the infopass for Tuesday of next week and we have all the copies that were sent when we requested information (about 10 of those). We also have copies of my previous infopass appointments. In addition, we have an interview to see my lawyer on Monday and we want to stop by our Rep. office.

My husband is has... had  an employment authorization and every so often he has to renew it. He's been getting letters from them and a couple of months ago they sent him for fingerprints for his employment authorization.

I'm a very emotional person, right now i'm experiencing a tick in my right eye since yesterday.

I will like to thank all of you for your help and support  . I really appreciated, its ironic that you've been more helpful than the reps. at the USCIS when they are the one getting a salary for doing a mediocre job.

There have been a few cases on VJ where people have had this problem because they moved and they were able to get the case re-opened. I'm not quite sure what they did to do that, but it is a fixable problem.

The 1800 line won't help much, most likely. Make an Infopass appointment, take your copies of your file with you, and they might be able to get this sorted out.

  4. I’m a citizen and our interview was on Feb of 2006 that day my husband also got his fingerprints done., On September 2006 we moved (but stayed in same borough) and immediately change our address online, completed and changed the address change form, changed our address at the post office. I check the case online almost everyday. We also call the costumer service # every other month and we had 2-3 infopass since then. The message is always the same “the case is pending at the processing site.”

Today we got a letter stamped for the day Oct 25 stating that 2 letters has been sent to informing us of appointments to go for fingerprinting and because he failed to go the application to change status was DENIED no chance to appeal :crying: . Also his Employment Authorization was canceled and if he did not file a motion to reconsider (which cost $585 dollars and one and a half year to approve) with in 30 days he would be deported  . We never received those letters. We have all this prove that we have been trying to find get information on the case, so how can we not go to the fingerprint appointments.

I talked to a lawyer and she said that it all seems as if it was their error, still there is nothing we can do but to file the motion to reconsider because immigration would still require it.

I cannot believe the incompetence of the USCIS  . I’m worry because my husband has been in this country for 10 years (6 years with the process) and he misses his parents so much, they are growing old and he wants to see them so badly. They are already telling him to give up and go back to Morocco but I’m an American woman, my family is here, and here is where I want to stay but with my husband. This is putting a strain on my marriage. I need help… Please :crying: .

IT is possible they mailed out those notices to old address somehow or did not get your new mailing address updated. Better call USCIS 800 number now and explain what is happening to you and tell them you have all this proof. And you may have to file that $585 just in case while working this whole thing out. Sorry for bad news.

But how is it that when I called the reps and went for infopass the mailed me the response to my new address. I called the costumer service # yesterday right after I got the letter and he told me that the address that they have in their system is the new and that it was updated when I put the change of address back in 2006. The fingerprint appointments were supposedly sent on February and May of 2007.

  7. Submitted the I-485 application on 2/7/07; received a request for initial evidence on 3/5/07, and sent the response in on 3/9/07. The biometrics was done on 3/8/07.

Got the notice for an appointment yesterday, for May 21, 2007.

Fiancee arrived November 7, 2006; wedding January 1, 2007. Moving along!

that is extremely fast. Congrat  ! I’m petitioning my husband since 2002 and the case is still pending :crying: .

  8. I was really surprised to receive a letter from USCIS yesterday stating that my permanent residency interview will take place on May 21st. I originally sent off my AOS package on February 18th only to receive an RFE letter on March 15th. After sending in my missing documents (the next day) I was expecting to wait much longer for my interview. In my original AOS package I also applied for EAD and AP although I haven't received approval for either yet.

Anyway, is it just me, or is the interview unusually soon? Maybe it just seems soon...

    Kristy

That is usually a good thing. Congrats ;)

  9. I am also post-interview and my online status states *this interview has been descheduled*, only ours was updated around a month after our interview. If you stay stuck in he fbi namecheck black hole 100 days prior to the expiration of your EAD and you want to keep working, apply for your renewal. No one can say how long anyone lasts in namechecks.

At least we aren't the only one to get that notice. I swear that the case workers just use that notification to bump any unwanted customer service references off their work load :(

I have the same problem. We alredy had our interview and I was never informed that i had to go for another. I check the web and I got that stupid message about the interview being descheduled. I called the rep and the game me the same work load story.

  10. Im currently going thru the documents submitted by my "crappy" lawyer and I found a huge error. She has my husbands DOB wrong on some of the documents she sent. Our interview is in 14 days. I there anything I can do or need to do?? My husband is the USC. She had his DOB as mine on my EAD application but it seems like they noticed it coz my EAD has my correct DOB!!!

Hi! I had a similar problem with application. When we went to the interview that had my husband name and last name and his wife name was some other girls. It was actually kind of funny  . At the interview that woman that was interviewing us capped calling me Darbia or what ever it was. Even after I explained to her that that was not my name  . She just capped apologizing to me  .

  11. I don't actually know what any of that means but my only advice would be to make an infopass appointment, take all documentation of whats happend so far and see if they can puzzle it out for you!

when I called the rep didn't even know what it meant also. I already went for the interviewing, the website stated that the case was at Missouri. How can we be interviw if the case in in another state.

  12. I'm petitioning my husband to register as a permanent

residence since December of 2002. On January of 2006, we received a letter

for our interview. That same week received another latter stating the

cancellations of our previous interview date and a new date for the

interview for February of 2006. About two months after the interview we

received the letter i-171, stating that the visa petition has been approved ;) .

On a weekly basis, I have been checking the USCIS web site and checking the

case online. It acknowledged that the case is still pending at the Missouri

Service Center and that we will be informed of decision when the decision is

made. Today I check the website again and I received the bellow message:

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO

    ADJUST STATUS

Current Status: Interview descheduled by USCIS.

I called a costumer service representative and they said that they only know

what is posted in their system. He added that it might be that since

information from when the first interview was reschedule and that we do not

have to go to another interview. We just been waiting on this petition for

so long and my husband is very anxious to see visit his relative in Morocco

that I cant help but feel a little apprehensive about it. I just will like

to know, can they reschedule an interview after the case has been approved :crying: ?

Do you think it means that we have to go to another interview? :help:

If you have the approval letter, schedule an info pass appointment.

I was informed by the USCIA that it was not a welcome notice it's just a letter stating that it was to approve the I-130 and that the I485 is still pending and not approve. the letter mailed to me was I-171.
