  1. Hello everyone,

I have a question, when I check my status on my I360 receipt it says "A new card is being produced"

My VAWA was received by USCIS on March 2019, got my work permit July 2019, fingerprint August 2019, I send my work permit renewal April 20th 2020 and June 18th 2020 I got the message "A new card is being produced" but not under my work permit receipt but under my I360 (VAWA) receipt.

Does this mean my VAWA has been approved?

  2. Hello Everyone,

I'm new to this forum and looking for some support/guidance.

I am married to my wife for over 2 years, and it was a very struggling situation. She has a drug and alcohol abuse past and I thought that she would have been done with it, unfortunately, she wasn't and was getting aggressive and violent when she was under the influence. I wanted to call the cops multiple time but she always threatened me to call immigration on me and I didn't fully know my right back then so I always let it go.

Fast forward, we were in the process for my adjustment of status and had our interview date in December 2018. She left our house and disappeared 1 month before our interview and I went there by myself with my lawyer and got denied. The officer told me that he will reschedule my interview but a week later I received a letter of denial with 10 days to leave the country.

I contacted a lot of lawyers in Los Angeles and got multiple responses on what I can do next. Some lawyers were extremely uncompassionate and mean, saying that my case has zero chance because I didn't have a police report and it was a gay marriage.

After finding a nice law firm, I decided to file for VAWA, and my file sent with 5 witnesses statements and my 20-pages statement supported by a lot of pictures (bruises from multiple occasion), the evidence of our marriage for 2 years (pictures, lease, bank accounts, the LLC we own together, car insurance and title, and gym membership, receipt of trips we took together.) We also file for the I-485 simultaneity.

I really took a hit with this whole situation really, I  don't want to stay married but I am so scared to divorce. I don't know where she is but I have the number of her brother. I am scared to stay living in our house because she and her family know the address. If I send the divorce paper to her parent's house (the only address I know where she might be) I am scared of them showing up. (Her parent are very traditionalist, and are homophobic and never accepted that their daughter was gay, also they are extremely wealthy and they have done things to covert for their daughter in the past that's the reason why I am afraid)

I wanted to know, did any of you ever been in this situation? Did you divorce during your VAWA process?

And How long before getting a response from USCIS  for your VAWA application on average in Los Angeles?

Thank you, everyone, I have been reading this forum and following your journey for a couple of months and decided to share mine

    VAWA case received (I-797): 03/25/19

Biometric Document: 04/19/19 (I didn't have to redo my biometrics)
