  1. With a DV lottery, upon entering into the country, you will get a ten years green card compare to CR1 which is a two year conditional green card. I would advise you to go for the DV interview,  just let them know about your CR1 petition. If after your interview you get a Visa for the DV, you'll just have to cancel the CR1 since you've been granted a dv visa. But the only thing is how soon is the dv interview compare to the CR1? But DV its far better than a CR1 due to the type of green card you will get upon admission into the country.

    Hi,

I got my conditional green card in September 2019 through marriage. I did DoorDash (food delivery) for the last 4 weeks and currently don't feel safe going out to work due to the virus spreading. Can I file for unemployment? I never filed for taxes because this is my first time working here in the US. Also will filing for unemployment make it hard for me to remove the conditions off my green card and eventually apply for citizenship?

    Thank you so much!

Door dash is giving out two weeks of pay to their dashers if your not able to go out and dash . Get on their app or web and you will see it

    This is so tragic.

I think your best option is to apply for a K1 visa. It’s a non-immigrant visa but treated like an immigrant visa if you want to get married. But only do it you if you are ready to make the commitment. As you already have a tourist visa it should be fine to travel. The ban is only aimed at those applying for an immigrant visa, to my understanding.

    Good luck 🍀

Does it mean that the ban wont affect k1 ?

Just approved for citizenship today! Now to wait for the Oath Ceremony. Anyone have any ideas how often the Denver office performs a ceremony? I will read back through the thread for potential details.

I got approved on the 16th of January and my oath ceremony is on the 30th of January.  You should hear back from them very soon. Who knows you might as well be scheduled for the 30th . Hehe

Oh my goodness we are so happy for you! Congrats to you! That is awesome that it moved faster than anticipated and thank you for sharing. That is good to know and gives us some hope things will move more quickly as well. :) I certainly hope things move by February, it would be AMAZING! Can you let us know when your oath ceremony gets scheduled? I'm curious how far out those are in Denver after interview. Thank you sammyjayT!

Yeah denver have been averagely okay in Processing N400, am sure before the end of Feb you will get your interview scheduled . My oath ceremony have already been scheduled , I'm just waiting for the document online to show cos right now I cant click on it , it says wait few days. They have also mailed the official copy, so whichever one comes first then I'll be able to know the date and time . Yours on the way .

Congrats! When did you file? We are October Filers and patiently awaiting our next info. Our wait time says 4 months and estimated completion date in 5 months. Was that accurate for you since you are also in Denver??

I filed on Aug 25th , my estimate time still shows 4 months and april 2020 as completion time  but I don't think the time matters cos I'm preparing for my oath ceremony, waiting for the document with the date and time to show online. Denver has been averagely okay and am sure you will hear back from them before the end of Feb.

Let us know how it went.

How long did it take? did you have to get called by name to receive the certificate ?

Yeah I went for the interview today at the uscis office in centennial colorado. I was scheduled for 9am but I got there early but was able to get in at 8.20am , I checked in after going through the security. Then I was told to sit and wait for my name , I was called in at 8.46am, raised hand up and swear . Then he asked me 6 questions , who is my state senator? How many amendments do we have ? What's the capital of the United state? Who was the president during world war 1 ? Who is my representative representing my city in the house ? The movement that stopped slavery ? After I passed these six questions ,he asked me a question on the tablet in front of me , who was Abraham Lincoln, and he told me to read the question out then told me to write the answer on the tablet. Then he proceeded  to the yes or no questions, then he  to verified my former addresses and current one with me, then I signed somethings on the tablet. After he gave me a piece of paper saying have been approved.  I asked him regarding the same day naturalization  ceremony in Denver and he said they have stopped it but he said there is a ceremony coming up in 2 weeks and he will sign me up for it, and his sure I will be part of it. He told me that I will get the oath ceremony notice in the mail on or before the end of next week. I left the place at 9.15am . I'm glad its almost over .

How do you check the adoption part ?    look it up in immigration

read former posts about adoption and people who thought they could adopt a neice or nephew/  there is a ton of information on the subject

check this site out as it says the following:

Individuals who are not Nigerian citizens are not legally allowed to adopt in Nigeria.  When a married couple is adopting, both must be Nigerian citizens.  Only U.S. citizens who also have Nigerian citizenship are allowed to adopt children in Nigeria.

that is from the US embassy in Nigeria

    https://ng.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/adoption/adoption-in-nigeria/

    That's true

Just some anecdotal evidence after browsing through forums like this - it seems lately that

Processing times are dropping with people getting interviews in 2-3 months upon application.

A lot of them at low volume centers but also some at regular sized processing centers.

    Thoughts?

Your right , I think the processing time have reduced a lil bit. I applied in August 25th and my interview will be in January.  I hope you all get your interview soon
