  1. God is good, we got issued on 27August.

I’d like to thank everyone for their contribution and as well wish everyone a successful visa journey.

We’ll be writing on our profile explaining everything we went through and how we overcame it on this journey in more detail later on. Hope it’ll be of help.

Good luck to everyone and Pray.

My fiance makes slightly above 36k and has the 2018 tax transcript and doesn't have any dependants

That doesn't make sense. Is that the adjusted gross income? That's the salary the embassy takes into consideration. K1 visa is set at 100% poverty line. For 2 people agi would need to be $16,910. Does it says 36k on the tax transcript? Or did they make less last year than they do now? 36k would be too little for a household of 7 but enough for a household of 6 and under.

Thanks for your response. We have no dependants and what's more confusing is that my fiance exceeds the 125% guideline with over 10k.

Hmm. If you don't mind me asking, how much does your fiancé make and what is the household size? Are there any listed dependants on their taxes? Do they have tax transcripts from 2018?

Hi everyone, I am in a dilemma. My fiance exceeds the poverty guideline for a family of 2 and I submitted the tax returns and pay stubs yet I was asked to provide another sponsor. How do I go about this

    Hi,

They’re saying it’s not enough maybe because your fiancé’s adjusted gross income isn’t sufficient enough with you inclusive. Look for the 100% poverty guidelines and check how many members he has on his tax return transcripts and if it’s not enough then get a co-sponsor from the family or joint as a friend.

Hope that helps, good luck with your visa journey.

Thanks for your response. I was sent another Email this afternoon that stated that they recieved my supporting documents that my passport are not needed now untill further administrative processing is completed.  So no visa on the passport. My case updated today. Am confuse why they will return our passport.

It’s so sad am so sorry to hear that, which country is your embassy.

Hello again guys, I have another question. So i finished putting together the i-134 affidavit of support form. Now what is the income requirements i have to go by, is it the 100% or 125%.?

We are a family of 6 and i make around 34,000 yearly. Will i be ok or no?

The main benefit for the i-134 is that the sponsor only needs to meet 100%.

Compare this to the i-864 which requires the sponsor meet 125%.

A k1 visa applicant will initially need to submit the i-134 but when they get ready to apply for a green card, they’ll need to submit the i-864 with the i-485 AOS

  7. Hey guys,

so I heard back from them saying, and I quote “due to the household size, the income is not sufficient to sponsor me” and that was our co sponsor’s income.

Thing is my fiancé just got a well paying job and she could easily sponsor me without help but problem is she just begun working there yesterday 24/June and she’s been in college for four years so she’s never filed taxes before.

What can we do? Is there anything we could send in lieu of tax transcripts and should she fill out a new affidavit of support?

Yeah they are always understaffed and not up to date, you have to be on top of things with them cause let's face it end of the day this will only effect us not them in anyway.

Yes so true, it affects us not them, we need to be fast in responding and hopefully they do the same. We have more to gain than them.

What's going on is they are properly adjudicating your case just as they said they would. More research on your part would have revealed the stages that a case COULD go through. When you failed to present tax transcripts at your interview you set your processing time back. The website, as reported by many, will uodate each time it's touched. That's progress.

Well am happy that the last update is today 24/June but what we don’t understand is the email they sent me asking me to send what I had already sent a week ago. I had to email them back saying it was a misunderstanding if that’s ok. Then I attached what I had sent them Incase🤷🏾‍♂️. We hope that goes well.

Hey guys, I had my interview in Jerusalem as well. Got verbally approved on 22 of May, no documents were requested from me during or after the interview, status still on ready until no and last update was on 21 June. Good luck to everyone on this annoying process.

I’ve noticed several times the Jerusalem embassy is slow at processing but if you got verbally approved and weren’t asked for anything else from you then you’re good as gold. congratulations.

just hold on and pray, the week has just begun

  11. So I’ve received an email stating they want the tax transcripts which I sent them on 14/June.

😳🤷🏾‍♂️🤔I don’t know what’s going on over there but whatever it is I hope it’s resolved soon because it’s affecting us deeply. Now the site says last updated today 24/June.

Thank you for the support. My fiancée came to visit me immediately after the interview, for two weeks, with the intention to bring me back with her to the US. Now we are trying to recover from the shock/surprise of AP. Hopefully you are right and it would get resolved sooner than later.

Sorry to hear about the inconvenience you’ve been put through, all I’ve gathered is that AP for such small requests shouldn’t take longer than 3 weeks, but if it does it’s all because of the cut in staff from above. Which embassy did you use?

We’re in the same situation. I submitted the passport, tax returns and W-2 on 6/14 (on the day of the interview). Last update was on 6/20. It may take days, weeks or months.

I wouldn’t get frustrated or discouraged, normally it would take months for more complicated Admin Processings. But for simple cases like missing birth certificate or tax returns it normally doesn’t take that long because they’re just adding it to your file and then issue.

We’re definitely in the same boat and time frame.

  14. My interview was on 13-June (nairobi), was told I had passed the interview and the CO put a green slip with a booklet in my file but then gave me a yellow slip stating to send the IRS tax returns with passport via dhl to have my visa issued in a couple of days. I sent them the following day and as per dhl they were received on 17-June. Is there anyone with any info about this situation and how long should we have to wait for. thanks
