Congrats! How long did the ceremony take from start to finish? Mine's coming up in a few.

Thank you and congratulations to you, too!

The time listed on the notice was 8:00 am but I called the court, and they said that’s to allow time for check in, but the ceremony will start at 10 a.m.

I was one of 120 applicants. We were each assigned a seat number beforehand, 1 to 120. There were two immigration officers checking folks in. It took about 1.5 hours to do so. They went by order from number one to 120. I was towards the end.

Remember to bring any and all cards/travel documents issued by USCIS! I didn’t bring a work authorization card I was issued years ago, and they said I should mail it in.

After everyone was checked in, the ceremony commenced and took about 1.5 hours. There was a reception afterwards where you get the chance to greet the judge and take a photo.

I recommend getting to the court early. The security check lines can get loooong and it is really hot and there is barely any air conditioning.

Note that photography is allowed but only before and after the ceremony. Not while the judge is on the bench.

It was one of the most memorable days in my life. Savor each moment!

Thanks. Wow -- 8 weeks! Have you tried to follow up? At worst, you should've been scheduled for last Tuesday, based on the DC court schedule.

Just got a notification (on egov) that my oath ceremony notice was mailed! No status change on MyUSCIS account yet, but I expect it to update in the afternoon.

Curious to know if I made it to August (13 or 16) oaths or not. From what I have seen on trackers an oath letter is usually mailed at least 5 weeks before the oath date so looks like it might be September.

    Hello,

I hope you doing well and you got your approval already. I had a closer situations. The officer told me you wilt a letter by mail for RFE which is N-14. but I didn't get anything for 2 weeks, and the online still showing interview notice.

My status changed on 05/22 (two weeks after the interview) to approved and oath ceremony will be scheduled. However, I have yet to receive an approval letter or an oath notice online or via mail.

I hope you receive your RFE soon! Best of luck. The waiting game is stressful.

The IO couldn't approve my N400 since I had I-751 pending. He had the case in front of him, looked at it briefly, asked a couple of questions and said that it looks approvable and it will be approved that afternoon. Few hours later my status I-751 was approved and so N400 the next day. I noticed the N400 approval letter on my profile a couple of days later.

Oh man. Now I am super worried that the IO didn’t approve my application...ugh. I remember asking him if once approved my status will change online he said “well I don’t know that’s the tech people doing their thing, but I’ll be sending a letter and it’s coming from me.”

My IO did seem inexperienced however. He had another IO with him and also didn’t seem to know the answer to some questions I asked him about name change etc.

I really hope he didn’t make a mistake. I mean my status changed to approved and in line for oath in both my accounts.

DC oath schedule is determined by the federal court, and someone posted the schedule for the year a while ago. Basically, it's held on the second Tuesday of each month (although August has two days for the month, I think).

Yeah I was the one who posted that. I just don’t know when they’ll let me know or which one I am likely to be included in.

I am also getting concerned because I got a decision cannot be made during the interview. The officer said once my application is approved I will receive a letter in the mail. My status online changed to approved on 05/22 but I haven’t received an approval letter nor is there one under the document tab. So I am getting now paranoid that maybe the status change online was a mistake and I am not even approved yet.

Can anyone who got a decision cannot be made during the interview but was later approved share their experience?

    Many thanks. :)

    I do not :)

Looks like those take 2-3 months to schedule in DC area :( My interview is on 6/26, let me know when you get any updates!

Ahh I really hope not. Especially because I am planning to move the end of July and would love to get this over with instead of having to file for a change of address and complicate/delay things further...

Will definitely update the thread. Best of luck on your interview! :)

Not at all.  I had my interview last week.  It lasted only 16 min. Since I had my i751 pending he didn't approve me on the spot. Later on that day I saw my i751 being approved and n400 the next day.

Did you have any red flags?

No; no tickets, no arrests, never married, no children. I did receive my GC through asylum, however, and he asked me a lot of questions about it. Did you see your file? Mine was like a foot high.

I live in DC proper and seeing some delay in folks’ oath ceremonies. According to US district court of DC, ceremonies in 2019 are held on the following dates:

Hoping to be included in the June 11th oath ceremony although it would more realistically be July 9th.

    Wishing you all the best!

Had my interview today. Decision cannot be made. I was told I’d receive a letter in 1 to 3 months that would either be a RFE or a congratulations letter.

Interview lasted 45+ minutes. There was a second IO present in the room who did not speak much but who walked me out. Anyone had a similar experience?
