  1. Thank you so much everyone for all the supportive comments. This has been so helpful. I will try to see what steps to take from here since there are so many great suggestions. Sad that things didn't work out as planned but hopeful indeed 😊
  2. His major is Computer Science. What's a STEM Major? H1B is such a hassle. But if that's the route he has to go, nothing we can do 😞
  3. If I were to apply after getting my citizenship, would it impact his F1 visa. And what would happen if he wants to to apply for H1B or any other category? Will the current application terminate or would be an additional application?
  4. Hi, how would the scenario turn out if I apply for him right after getting citizenship? Isn't the processing time around 15 years? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the processing time when parents apply for their unmarried son/daughter would be 5 years, right? Thank you so much for explaining these scenarios to me. This whole situation is so complicated.
  5. Hi, thanks for your response. So, can try to expedite the parents I-130 hoping that theirs will be approved before he turns 21? And would CSPA apply in this case?
  6. Hello everyone, Hope everyone is doing well. I'm about to be a US citizen and I will be applying for I-130 for my parents. My brother, who is turning 20 in January is in F1 visa and currently lives in the United States. Initially, I thought my brother would be included under my parents as a dependent when I applied for I-130 for them. However, it seems I need to file separately for him which would take years as per my understanding. Based on some research, the best route is to apply for his I-130 after my parents' approval. But given that the initial process takes more than a year, he will be over 21 by then, which could lengthen the process significantly. How can I best navigate this situation? Can I expedite my parents' case so they can petition for him as soon as they receive their Green Card? We are also planning to consult a lawyer but I wanted to gather some insights beforehand. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
  7. After filing my N400 application last night, the processing time initially showed 17 months. When I checked today it went down to 10 months. Does it go down further or this is it?
  8. Hi, just filed today. Very excited about the upcoming journey. How is it looking for N400 combo filers?
  9. I'm in the process of completing my N-400 application online with pending i-751. Does anyone know where exactly I should upload my I-797 form, if it's required? Any guidance would be appreciated
  10. Thank you so much. I will do the same. Could you also tell me how long did the N-400 process take?
  11. I was thinking since I've already submitted evidence when filing for i-751, I just have to submit documents thereafter. Should I submit the same documents and evidence when I filed for i-751?
  12. Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I'm currently in the process of preparing to file my N-400, Application for Naturalization, and I have a few questions that I hope someone can provide clarity on. I am currently not working and am house wife, but my husband is employed. I understand that the application requires information about employment history and financial details. Given that I don't have personal income but rely on my husband's, how should I approach this on the form? Should I still list my status as unemployed in the employment section? Or is there a specific way to mention that I'm financially dependent on my spouse? Are there any additional documents or proof of income from my husband's side that I should be submitting along with the application? Lastly, has anyone been in a similar situation and faced any challenges or additional questions during the interview because of this? It would be helpful to know so I can be better prepared. Thank you in advance for any insights or advice you can provide. Your experiences and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
  13. Hello community, I'm gearing up to file my N-400 application based on the 3-year criteria (due to marriage to a U.S. citizen). To provide some context, I filed for an I-797 about a year ago and used documents that dated back a year at that time. Now, as I prepare my N-400, I'm encountering some uncertainty: Given my prior I-797 submission, how old can the supporting documents be when submitting the N-400 based on the 3-year rule? Are there specific documents from the I-797 process that I can reuse for the N-400, or do I need updated versions? For those who have navigated this path, were there any particular documents that the USCIS seemed especially keen on or that proved to be vital? Any other advice or insights regarding the documentation and timeline when dealing with both the I-797 and the N-400? Your guidance and shared experiences will be invaluable to me as I tread through this intricate process. Thank you so much for any clarity you can provide.
  14. Hello everyone, I'm currently in Dallas and considering applying for naturalization while concurrently dealing with the I-797 Notice of Action. I've come across mentions of a combined processing route for both N-400 (Application for Naturalization) and I-797. For those who have embarked on this path, especially from the Dallas area, I'm keen on hearing about your experiences. How long did the entire process take for you from start to finish? Were there any significant delays or issues you encountered specifically in Dallas? Is the processing time consistent across different USCIS service centers, or does it vary based on the location? Any resources or platforms where one can check the status of applicants in similar situations or get a sense of the processing timeline? General tips or advice for someone like me considering this combined route? Your insights and shared experiences would be extremely helpful as I try to navigate this journey. Thank you for taking the time to contribute.
  15. Yes, applied for my mom who lives in Paris. It'd a i-130 petition which should be current
  16. Still feels long 😆 Was hoping would be like a month Could you kindly send me the link please
  17. Yes, I have submitted the W2 and 1099 as asked. Should be DQed in 2 weeks hopefully. I was thinking of requesting an expedite since which could speed the process of getting an interview
  18. I am an I-130 petitioner, and it has been approximately two years since my initial filing date. The processing by USCIS experienced significant delays, further compounded by a Request for Evidence (RFE) which added to the timeline. Currently, my case is in the NVC stage, and I've observed that the NVC seems to be reviewing and Documentarily Qualifying (DQing) cases within a span of roughly two weeks. Given the extended duration my case has taken, is there an option to expedite the process? If so, could someone please guide me on the appropriate procedure?
  19. There is also one on the IRS website. I think it's called Wages and taxes. Some people have reported submitting that as well. Honestly, this whole process is a spaghetti . I may as well send them both just to be on the safe side. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated
