  1. Hi Guys..

had a quick question.. i submitted a DS 160 (non immigrant form) last year in Jun 2018..however never paid fees or booked an interview for the same. Currently at NVC stage.. resubmitted one doc Apr 25th.. nonetheless, i was wondering can this be a cause of issue during my visa interview? should i take a print out the submitted form and tell CO i never went ahead with the same? to give you all more background.. my parents who already had the visitor visa booked their tickets to visit my husband's place.. we were hoping if i could get a visa before my parents were flying.. would have been lovely to visit my husband, however after submitting the form we saw that there no dates available until late August.. hence never went ahead with it... hoping it wont be a cause of issue.. your thoughts please? TIA :)

are you referring to the USA as states? If yes, there is no pcc required for time spent in usa.

But I am baffled by your logic though, just because your passport has your home address which is your permanent address is not a means for finding out whether you need pcc or not. For example, if you had lived in Hong Kong for an year, obviously your passport would still have your permanent address in India. But you would have still required the PCC from Hong Kong.

Thank you for your response.. :) was helpful..

apologies if i confused with my post... just wanted to make sure that i am on right track... just had my police verification... the guy asked me from how long am I residing at my current address which is since birth except the 3 years i was in usa. So basically my certificate would say i am residing that my current address since 199X till date..  so wanted to make sure the same .

  4. Hi Guys! Our payment is done:) onto the next step !! Had small query regarding PCC from india.. i was in states from 2014 mid of 2017.. for my higher studies and then a job.. moved back to india in 2017...however my permanent address is always been my home address currently residing and passport says the same ... i was wondering since one of the criteria says if lived in another country for 12 months or more then i need to get PCC from states as well?

NVC says up to three weeks assuming none of your documents are rejected. For me it took them 8 days the first time. They rejected 3 documents with an unclear explanation. Took 12 days for them to review the second time and they rejected two documents with NO explanation given. After 80 attempts of trying to get them on the phone, finally after being on hold for 1 hour someone answered and she couldn’t initially figure out why they were rejected. Took her 5 minutes. Imagine if the NVC’s own employees can’t understand the notifications and instructions how do they expect the public. Just resubmitted today.

    Anyway lessons learned:

    1. Make sure all documents are the right side up (mine was vertical but should have been oriented horizontally).

    2. Double check when submitting police reports if your country requires fingerprints to be included.

    3. For taxes ONLY submit the 1040 in the Tax section. Any other documents related to your return (i.e., form 8886, tax worksheets, W2, etc) submit separately in the other documents section.

    4. Absolutely call the NVC IMMEDIATELY if any document is rejected no matter what the explanation says on CEAC. Tell them a document was rejected and you want them to tell you why. (Because the notification on CEAC is extremely unclear or non existent.)

Save yourself the trouble of multiple rejections and weeks of endless delays.

Lastly, all Americans on this forum need to write your Congress and Senate person and tell them the Dept of State NVC processes and operations need to be investigated by the IG. This is our tax dollars at work...I mean NOT at work. Wasted and misused.

Congratulations!! and thank you for this.. very helpful :)  also wondering if you also tell us what all documents you shared with NVC.. just want to be double sure about everything  😛

For us (numbers assigned on 2/20-2/25) it took about 2.5 weeks to resolve! I hope for you guys it is just a temporary error.  Basically CEAC in DC has to update their system daily so that the new assigned case numbers that NVC gives are recognized online (CEAC).  Once they update, you will be able to log in.  I see for most people it only takes a day or two to log in with no issue.  I think our group in Feb was an anomaly.  Wish you the best and try to log in today!

No luck yet !! :( soo annoying! I hope it works out tomorrow morning!

  7. Hello everyone!

had a question regarding tax filing.. we had our wedding in Sep-18, got i130 approved on 6 Feb 19, NVC received our case on 25th Feb.. still waiting for case number. however my husband (US citizen) forgot to get his martial status change/update in his W2 form, he is yet to submit 2018 tax return. I was hoping if any one of you had similar case or could guide us if there is a way we could still update the same? Many thanks in advance.. any help will be highly appreciated :)
