Change of address
Oko Vicki replied to Oko Vicki's topic in Effects of Major Family Changes on Immigration Benefits
The car is in both of our names so is the auto insurance, do I still need to update my address with car finance and auto insurance?? -
I was wondering if I have a complete list of who to notify of address change and when. The ones I have written down are USPS, Bank, IRS, DMV, USCIS, car dealership and auto insuranceโฆ thatโs all. Is there anything else I am missing? Please advise. NB: is it necessary to update my address with dealership and insurance since both of our names are on them and my wife remains at the same address anyways??

Congratulations ๐๐พ -
First and foremost, accept my condolencesโฆ may your motherโs soul find rest. Also, I am sorry to hear that youโre going through this. I am in Alabama, too, and my wife just left the house like 30mins ago with our car we are both paying for and had me remove my things from it. I have a feeling sheโs trying to make life difficult for me by taking my source of income away (I do Walmart Spark delivery). Follow advices from comments and move on with your life. Please do not go to the house to confront her, go with the police to get whatever is left of your things. I will DM you now to see if we can rub minds since our situations are similar. Be strong brother. We will be alright.

Folks, I turned back on the interstate and went back home. I couldnโt do it. After I got home, we talked and shared our thoughts and concerns in a different way than before, so we both agreed to go on a short vacation to get away from all the madness. Weโve got to bring that romance back! ๐ Thank you all for chiming in. I appreciate it. -

Thank you. I had no choice but to do because I was boiling really hot inside being talked to like that by wifeโs daughter and my wife was sitting right there and said nothing. I have the 2 year green card. I came in last year July. -

At a time in November when things were very bad between us and I was barely handing on by a thread, my wife asked me if I was depressed. I told her โbaby so you know what youโve been doing to me is bad and how youโve been treating is wrong youโd thought Iโd be depressed by now?โ She did not utter a word after that. In early December, I suggested we go to marriage counseling but she brushed off the idea. I just need to avoid that house tonight to avoid trouble. I will talk to her again about counseling. Sorry for posting in the wrong forum and thanks for your contribution. -
Hello VJโers, I really canโt go into details but the major point is that things were totally the opposite of everything it was supposed to be. I have gone through a lot in my marriage and I said enough is enough tonight. It is not my wife that is the problem but her grown up children and a particular granddaughter that lives with us. I left the house tonight so I wouldnโt do anything stupid; my wifeโs 47yo daughter who lives with us (her 20yo daughter lives with us too and her boyfriend) was there yelling in my face and insulting me and my wife didnโt say anything. My wifeโs granddaughter had been rude to me before but I let it go because I love the girl but she did it again tonight via text. I have told my wife my plans of getting my own place and setting it up and would love for her to move in with me and let her daughter and her boyfriend and her granddaughter have her house because I donโt want a divorce. I really am not sure how this will end. But I am sitting here at a Murphyโs gas station thinking of what to do. I left the house to avoid further confrontations which I know might push me to do something stupid. I need your advices as to what to do right now with regards to my immigration status. Are there documents I should be gathering right now while I still can or Idk, just anything I need to do on my part. We just filed out taxes jointly last week, we amended 2021 taxes to married filing jointly but we havenโt mailed it out. We were supposed to amend 2020 taxes today and mail them both together until things went crazy. It appears to me that my wife has chosen her family over me. What do I do?

Go ahead and schedule your interview. Make sure to give enough time between current date and interview date for your medicals. I advice to do the medicals 2 weeks before the interview date. Get your police clearance certificate, too. -

Thank you specially for this bit of info! We've had a difficult time figuring out how to get that. So we submitted an updated AOS form showing her savings of over 70k, tax transcript, screenshot of her account balance, bank name, account holder name and account number. We wait in hope now. Thanks for your input senor. -

That's right she's over 62 and it is retirement income. She didn't file social security because of the accident, in fact she has been getting SS for 4 years now even while she was a Charge Nurse RN. -

Hi. Do you mean we can redo the I-864 with proof of assets even though CO asked for joint sponsor?? Can we then include a note explaining why we didnt send joint sponsor I-864? -

This makes a whole world of sense. Thinking about it now, the consular woman was actually sweet, patient and understanding... she took her time to take my questions and checked the documents I gave her in support of my case and why she shouldn't issue me a 221G form, she actually returned the form twice to check my documents after listening to me. Now I'm not mad about the 221G anymore ๐. I'm sure we will find someone. Thank you Jorgedig -

Oko Vicki replied to Oko Vicki's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
Consulate. Petitioner made over $38k in 2021, that qualifies us for a household of 2. She is going to make $23,484 this year from social security, that still is above the poverty guidelines for a household of 2. The IO decided on the joint sponsor the moment I said my wife doesn't work anymore. She didn't even listen to me when I said it was because of the accident on which we expedited our case. -
Got the 221G form to submit sponsor's 2021 tax transcript even though I had it with me. Also, we are to find a joint sponsor which we both know we do not have. However, what we do have is over $70k in savings. How do we use this rather than a joint sponsor even though a joint sponsor is what was specifically asked for.

Updating DS-260 before interview

Sending multiple emails doesn't mean quick response. Be patient they will respond. You still have till June 28 to update your form so no rush. -

Email the embassy requesting that they reopen the form so you could update it. That was what we did. Good luck at the interview.
