  1. My fiancé’s visa was refused June 2019 and was told to come back January 2020 and have a new medical exam done. My question is does he need to get his fingerprints done again? I messaged the consulate(Ciudad Juárez) and they told me he would not need a new interview only a medical exam, but didn’t say anything about the fingerprints? Can anyone let me know if they have any insight on this? Should I schedule the new medical exam already?

    Thanks

I have the same issue. Except for my fiancé can’t take the exam til July 2020... All it says on the form is that he can return to get the medical exam and that there is no waiver for this. And for more info to go to USCIS.gov. I am very lost on what to do. How does this process work? He goes back in a year to get tested and then does he get a visa? Do we have to reapply? Should we just get married and file for a CR-1?

Yes it's very confusing. I sent the consulate an email, I'm waiting for a response to see what they say. Does anyone know how long they take to respond?

You can call it anything you want but you have to sit and wait the 6 months out and the retake the medical to prove he is not a habitual user. If he had admitted it during the first exam then he would have had some extra steps to take and probably be on his way to a visa. He has to be truthful every step of the way. Your lucky you get to do this in 6 months.

Yes we are very lucky that it's only 6 months. Do you know if he needs to wait to be scheduled a new interview after the medical exam?

For me I printed it directly from the website through which I booked the appointment.

It has yout info (appointment time, name, type of visa etc) on it and a barcode at the bottom that they scan when you show up for the interview

When I was done scheduling the interview they sent me an email with the information but no barcode? Is this the appointment confirmation email that I'm supposed to print and take to interview?

Are you the USC?  If so, then your plan is fine.

If you’re the beneficiary, are you talking about a flight to the US?  If so, that’s not realistic.  Best case scenario you are verbally approved, there is still processing to issue the visa.  This takes days, weeks, and in unfortunate cases, months to a year or more.  Do NOT book a flight to the US until you have a Visa in your hand.

If you’re talking about flying elsewhere in Mexico, then sure :)

Yes I meant flying in Mexico still. Thank you
