Has anyone in Canada already had an interview, denied and had to file a 601 waiver? My fiance's waiver was approved July 1st. We've contacted Montreal and my senator did also but keep getting told it's in administrative processing and they will let us know what needs updated and when a 2nd interview can be scheduled and to wait for instructions (first interview was 2 years ago so must have another one). It's been almost 4 months since his waiver was approved and I feel like he's never going to get a 2nd interview or get to come home
I'm in a Facebook group for waivers and it seems like other countries receive instructions and get a 2nd interview set up right away. Others approved after us from other countries are already home! Just so frustrated!!
Hi MicheleRob - We had a similar experience. We had our i-212 waiver approval dated January 30, 2019 and my husband only just had his second interview in Montreal on October 16. Hopefully yours will not take as long.

Everyone has to go to AP before visa can be issue. AP can took a few days, weeks, or months. Nothing you can do right now is waiting.
@H&T This was actually his second interview in Montreal. He was in ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING status before his most recent interview.
Is an ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING status any different than an ISSUED status with Administrative Processing related memo in the detail?

Hi- I was hoping others could share their timeline from their Montreal Immigrant visa interview to having their Visa in hand.
- My husband went for his IR-1 interview in Montreal on Wednesday October 16th and was told he was approved.
- His status on CEAC changed to ISSUED the same day as his interview but below it says "Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks.... ".
- It has not changed since the day of his interview. So this is now the 4th business day with no changes.
From what I could find browsing forums, I thought we would have our tracking number by now so I am a bit nervous, especially with the term "administrative processing" still being a part of our status. Everything has taken longer than expected with the consulate so I'm scared of our medical expiring, etc.

Hello!
I have my last scheduled appointment for the bio metric oath in Montreal on Aug 9/19 (Friday), is there anybody who knows how long the consulate takes to give you the visa /PR physically after the bio-metric oath appointment? I am planning to stay in Montreal to wait up for it, hopefully it takes just a few business days to pick it up in one of the Canada Post offices designated.
Thank you !
@Diana1225 Hi! How did your biometric re-oath appointment go? My husband's is going to be in a few weeks. Did you bring any documents with you or just your passport? Did they do a full interview with lots of questions? How long till you got your visa? Any tips? Pointers? I have been searching online and really cant find much on what to expect for this kind of an appointment.

We just booked an appointment for re-oath in Montreal for October 16th (ours is IR-1 Visa). We saw one other opening when we booked ours for October 30th. Go get it!

Sorry I am just seeing this now! It took about 2 months or so to hear from them and yes I had to book my own appointment! It took me 3 weeks checking every day all day to get one and I actually go this Friday!
Congrats @Lola2! Very happy for you! Looking at your previous posts it seems your only about a month away from your medical expiring right? Crazy how close they cut it considering it expires in 6 months. Good luck at your interview!

Not yet, I needed to di another medical and background check, which I did last week. Once I have them then I need to send it to them via mail. Then I will get an interview date.
@Lola2 After you mailed your medical and background to the consulate, how long till you heard from them to get an interview date? Did they tell you to book your own interview via the AIS site?

@Rose7673 @dazzler1234 Are you guys applying for an IR-1? I learned that different types of visas have different appointment slots.

Unbelievable 😞 Sorry guys. I think i'm about to join your club soon.
We just couriered the requested new medical and police report yesterday and its been over a year since his last interview so I'm expecting he will have to go in for re-oath too.
About how long did it take after submitting your new medical for them to send you the email asking you to book a re-oath appointment?
-
@Rose7673 @dazzler1234 any luck with getting an appointment booked? If so, around when were you finally able to book it and for what date?

Hi everyone-
I, the petitioner, want to email Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov, to inquire about the applicant's (my husband) case and next steps? Will they respond to me or is it only the applicant who they will respond to?
Thanks!

My husband was refused at his first interview in March 2018 for Immigrant Visa and told to get waiver. His solo i-212 waiver was approved January 30, 2019. The last time we received a response the Montreal consulate told us they were in the process of giving us a list of documents to get that have expired (for example his medical). Based on what I have read in these forums it seems they will likely be asking him to book a second interview. I have also learned from these forums that it can take a while before you can get an appointment through the AIS website and when you finally do, it will likely not be for a month or two or three. So my question is, can we book an appointment on the AIS website now even though the consulate has not instructed us to yet?

Do you guys know if you can you book an IR1 Interview appointment on the AIS website before the the consulate gives you instructions to?

I had a k1 interview and was denied for an inadmissibility.
I recently was approved for the waiver and it was forwarded to the consulate. This approval was only 3 months after my k1 denial so all documents from k1 are still valid and up to date.Once the embassy received my approval notice. they only requested my passport to be sent. The received it on the 24th of may.
Since then, my case has changed on CEAC to non immigrant and administrative processing and has not changed since May 31stLeeahh - After your k1 interview denial did it show "Refused" on the CEAC website? Ours shows "Refused" even though our waiver was approved on Jan 30, 2019.

We had a denial for an IR Immigrant Visa and then filed an i-212 waiver which was approved dated January 30 2019 but the issue with us is that our documents (ex medical) have expired. It feels like we are waiting forever to hear for them and its mentally exhausting checking both my physical mailbox and CEAC website daily.

Yesterday I sent another email to the consulate asking for an update (since they never responded to me since the accidental reply mishap), and the USC sent an email to his Senator requesting an inquiry.
Today I personally received a phone call from the person at the Visa Unit who is handling my case.
She said that she wanted to call me to tell me she is sending me an email and she wanted me to know so I look for it right away. They have received my new passports and are going to do everything possible to get my my visas reissued promptly. But unfortunately everything that went along in the sealed package with my missing passports, are also missing (obviously), and that I need to send them ALL my original documents + photocopies of everything I presented at the interview (Birth Certificates, Divorce Certificate, Divorce Decree, Custody orders for the kids, new passport photos for the visas, another copy of the criminal record check, etc) and they are contacting the medical examiner's office themselves to get another copy of our medical exams directly.
Why the heck wouldn't they ask me to send all that stuff when they asked me to send the new passports?? smh.
Anyways, she assured me that my file wasn't leaving her desk, and she instructed me to get all those things into the mail ASAP and told me what to write on the envelope so that it doesn't sit in the mail room.
She said that if I get it into the mail today, it would reach the Consulate on Tuesday. But because Monday is a holiday for them, she won't receive it until Wednesday. She said she is expediting everything so I will hopefully receive my new visas for the 4th of June.
I sent everything off today. Fingers crossed there's no more messing around and I indeed get my stuff back as quickly as they say.Do you think she called you from the Visa Unit because of the Senator? If so, I cant believe how fast the Senators office addressed the email from your USC! We had our i-212 waiver approved January 30 2019. They then forwarded it to the Montreal consulate to continue processing our Immigrant Visa application. The consulate has been slow, poor at communication, and even making errors! I'm wondering if we should start considering contacting a Senator. Are there any resources on this topic of contacting senators that you would recommend?

Sorry if this is a silly question.... What is "the USC"?
-
Lola did the consulate contact you via mail or email?

Hi! Lola! Congrats! Did they give an interview date? When is it? We are waiting to hear from the Montréal consulate. Our waiver was approved Jan 30 2019

We were frustrated and then my lawyer logged into our CEAC account and realized that we were being asked to submit a new DS-260. Have you checked every tab on the CEAC website to see if they are requesting anything new of you?
