  1. Hello everybody, I got married on January 21st, 2007. I applied for I-129F and now the case is pending at CSC. I am trying to do the I-134. I am full time student , so i donot have any come. Can my father give the affidavit of support for my husband? He is a green-card holder. Do i need to do two I-134 forms, one by me and one by my father or just the one from my father?? Thank you very much for your help.

Check out http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivforms.html. Click on "Instruction package for K-3 visa applicants" Then read the section "Affidavit of Support".

It says, you have to submit your form and if your income isn't enough, then you must submit a co-sponsor's (your father's) I-134. Not only that, but you have to submit everything listed under that section in the PDF file.

So, one of each of the following for you and your father:

    -Form I-134.

-Documentary evidence that the petitioner/joint sponsor is a U.S.citizen /U.S.

permanent resident (e.g. clear photocopy of birth certificate / certificate of

naturalization / U.S. passport / both sides of green card, as applicable).

-Federal tax returns (form 1040) with all supporting schedules for the most recent

taxable year from the date of interview. An applicant applying in May 2006 should

provide a 1040 form for 2005. Failure to provide a 1040 form for the most recent

taxable year could delay your application.

-W-2 form for the most recent taxable year, if applicable.

-Job letter or pay stubs (should be less than 12 months old on the day of the visa

    interview).

-Bank letter (should be less than 12 months old on the day of the visa interview).

-If self-employed include self-employment schedules filed with income tax returns or

financial records such as a bank statement for the business accounts.

-If the petitioner did not file a tax return, the applicant should submit a written

explanation from the petitioner explaining why he/she had no legal duty to file the

    return.

-If the petitioner filed a late or amended tax return, he/she should submit evidence of

    this.

-If the petitioner does not have copies of his/her tax returns, an Internal Revenue

Service (IRS) summary of this should be submitted.

  2. -------update--------

I just sent an email to mumbaiiv@state.gov. I'll let you now if I hear back. Do call them yourself, though!

    Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible to download, print, fill-in, and

send Instruction Packages-Packets 3 as soon as an approved I-129F

petition arrives at your office in Mumbai from the U.S. The packet I

am referring to is available on your site at the following URL:

    http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/ivforms.html

    Thank you very much,

  3. Hi all, :help:

I'm trying to figure out how long it should take NBC to forward my I-129F for K3 to VSC for further processing? I received my NOA1 on March 26 though it was dated March 22. I'm thinking it should take about 10 days and I'm day #13. My app was last touched on March 27.

I dunno how you guys do this. The wait is excruciating :(

  4. hi webber,,,congratulations for the approval,,, what is your timeline? when did you file your application? God bless you!!!!!!!

Yeah, what's your timeline? And congrats.

    --whoops, clicked timeline button:

    "Processing

    Estimates/Stats : Your I-129f was approved in 89 days."

    I hope mine's quicker :(

  5. I don't see why not, kijana. I wish I had done that! It would have saved me a month. Just make sure your relatives in US are able to contact you quickly if you need anything.

The only thing you'd need from them is the receipt from the I-130. I'd have them keep the original and mail you 2-3 copies.

One thing you may consider is mailing your packets to your relatives and have them mail that packet from the US. I'm not familiar with India couriers, but this way you can track your package online.

Research everything in advance so you have all you need when you're in India. Good luck!

    Vikas.

  6. Hi all,

I married on Feb 12th, 2007 in India and filed the I-130 on Friday, March 9. After filing, I realized that I used an older version of the form. It expired on Jan 31, 2007. I got the form from the USCIS website (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-130.pdf -- expired form).

The only difference between this and the new form is that the new form asks for extra evidence of a continuing relationship. I did not provide this in my package. I can provide affidavits and phone records if necessary.

Does this mean the form will get rejected? The uscis website says, "prior versions acceptable" for the I-130. Will they give me an NOA and an RFE? I'm going for a K3 visa and would like the I-130 NOA1 receipt ASAP.

    Thanks.
