Thankyou! How do they contact us when they have a case number? By email or my postal mail? And who do they contact the beneficiary or the petitioner? 

Hi i can see online that my case was sent to NVC in mid july, its almost a month now,. should we call nvc to know the case number?

Thought I'd provide an update on my situation if there's anyone out there comparing and estimating.

 

Centre/Center: Texas, SRC number.

 

Visa: CR-1

 

Country: United Kingdom (Scotland)

 

Spouse is a US Citizen.

• 2018-11-07 - Marriage.
• 2018-12-12 - I-130 mailed.
• 2018-12-14 - Priority Date.
• 2018-12-24 - NOA1 received.
• 2018-12-28 - Filed to change the Date of Birth for the Petitioner on the NOA1 as it was off by one year. Guessing a data entry mistake on the part of USCIS.
• 2019-01-15 - Date of Birth changed.
• 2019-07-03 - Actual Approval date.
• 2019-07-05 - Date I received an email notification about the approval.
• 2019-07-09 - Case sent to NVC. Received approval/NOA2 letter in mail.
• 2019-07-16 - NVC received case - I called them to confirm this and get the date they received it.
• 2019-08-07 - NVC case number created. dissecting the number it looks like it was created yesterday. Can't login yet, can take up to 72 hours. Going to try every so often.

How did you get the case number and if you can tell me how did you know that NVC recieved the case? 

Hi has anybody heard from NVC? My case was sent around mid july to NVC? How long i have to wait to hear from them? Do they contact you from mail or email?

Not yet, it's too early The letter I've received says that it may take up to 30 days for NVC to receive my file. That said, I know that some people start calling NVC after 2-3 week to check if NVC received their file. Yes, you or the petitioner can call/contact NVC to check on the status of your file. You will need to have your receipt # handy and they may ask you a few question (such as birthrate of petitioner or you, address, phone# or email) to confirm/verify your identity. Good Luck!

And secondly is there any chance you change your address after i-130 approval with nvc? And during nvc can they send information through emails?

You're welcome! I wouldn't say you "need it", as it is merely a notification of an action taken by USCIS. I would, however, keep what ever notification you've received (email or text) so you can reference it when you're tracking your case through various stages (i.e. NVC). Oh and BTW, you may want to create/update your timeline, as other VJ'ers with similar time frames may benefit as well.

Thankyou again!  Did you get anything from NVC yet? Do we have to call them or they will email us with the details? Secondly, i am the beneficiary outside USA can I contact NVC too?

I only got it in the mail yesterday 7/29, but he letter says it was approved on 7/25. So it only took a couple of days, excluding the weekend of course. Note that both websites where you can check your case status haven't been updated yet and still say "case received...."!! No email or sms either. Just the letter in the mail.

How long after NOA2 approval do we get the actual approval letter in the mail?  I got my NOA 2 by the mid of this month and i think we havent recieved anything in the mail yet. 

Hi all, whats's the next step after I-130 NOA 2 approval?  I have read online about NVC stage but how much time do we have to wait for them to contact us. 

And is there any thread dedicated for NOA2 approvals or we have to still post here if we have questions? 

Hi my priority date is in mid december at it is TSC. I havent heard anything after that, it is almost 7 months? Is there anybody who havent heard from TSC after 7 months. 

We sent ours in December 2018, Havent heard anything ? It only says case recieved. is it normal?
