What agencies are those? We searched all over the internet and there are no clear-cut answers, and on some of the websites where they say they can get this Police Report seem like they could be scams... There has to be something legitimate out there that will not break the bank... I know other people have had to go through this before, so there has to be a way (besides going to China). This is all very irritating!
Which city did you wife use to live in? Let me see whether I could find more details

That is what I thought... but there has to be some way around this. Just not sure what.
I found out there are some agencies or law offices could help to obtain. (If your wife doesn’t have friends there) no need your wife to go to China.

I had my interview this morning and I got a green note stating preliminary approval pending my submission of a new Police Report. She requested I mail a new Police Report to the embassy and they will look into it and issue my visa.
Is this same as 221G? The paper I was given didn’t state 221G though but it said “you have been approved preliminary pending your submission of documents ”.
Has anyone been in this situation before and how long did it take after submission of the documents they got their visa in hand? . Anyone received such notice after he’s or her interview?
Hope u have got your visa.
im currently waiting for my visa too but still under AP
just few question hope u could advise
1. Have your CEAC status ever under administrative processing?
2. How long it take u have your passport back after u submit your new police check?
thank you!

Thanks VisaJourney for all of your help! My wife's immigrant visa has been approved!
My wife had her biometrics on Tues, May 14. We brought the yellow book that confirms all of her vaccinations completed by a consulate sanctioned hospital. Although a consulate sanctioned hospital in Tianjin approved these vaccinations, the hospital in Guangzhou wouldn't accept her MMR and chicken pox vaccination records so she had to get another MMR and Chicken Pox vaccine administered. I wasn't very happy about that, but what can you do? My wife tells me the staff was very pushy about moving things along and a bit rude. Sounds like a task oriented hospital. The sooner they get everyone done, the sooner they can leave. I don't why they were that way. I hope they can improve their quality of service.
The Guangzhou consulate collected all the documents ahead of time. We were hoping to not need to give the joint sponsor affidavit of support so that our friends would not have to absorb risk for us, but they required all the documents before my wife could talk to anyone about it. Oh well, we will tell stories of our friend's grand sacrifice and love to us for generations to come. Perhaps the consulate didn't want to rob us of that.
These were the questions asked at the interview:
1. Have you been to other countries besides the US? Was it for vacation? (This one was asked during the documents submitting process, I think the purpose is to know if you need a police check from another country)
2. How long have you been married?
3. How long was the longest time you stayed in the US?
4. How did you and your husband meet?
5. Has your husband been living in China the whole time? Where is he now?
6. What’s his job? What’s the name of the school that he works at?
7. Show me some photos.
8. Who is this in the photo? (she pointed at our niece. Sounded like a random question, but I guess it is to confirm is was an authentic photo.)
9. Is your husband looking for a job in the US now?Consulate staff was very friendly and personable. My wife was very happy with the experience at the Guangzhou consulate.
They told us we'll have her passport with her visa in two weeks!
I really appreciate everyone who gave thoughts to our process. It was very nice getting feedback and ideas from so many people. I think we would have been in trouble about the Affidavit of Support and Intent to Domicle packets if people hadn't mentioned it on VisaJourney.
Again, thanks All!
Congrat!
just a question
how long does your wife have her passport with visa back?
thank you!

Hello all,
My husband got an approval yesterday after his interview.. Just wondering what the next step is? Do we just wait for him to get his passport and then he can move to the US? Thanks!
How long did it take your husband have his passport with visa back?

She may authorize someone to help obtain one from the police station where she used to live in China. Or she has to go to China to obtain one
the procedure is
1. Obtain a police check from the police station where she used to reside
2. Since the police check is in chinese, so ur wife needs to do a notary at a notary office
hope it helps

Hi there,
have you received your passport back? My husband and I are in a similar situation as you.
We had our interview this past Monday, June 3. Just a quick question—it’s been 5 days today and our status still shows “administrative processing” on the CEAC website even though we were told we’re approved and handed a welcome to America sheet.
just want to know when you got your passport back so we can reassure ourselves that the embassy is just taking some time to print/administer the immigrant visa. My husband and I are already living in the states and had come to MTL for the interview hence we’re anxious to get back to work ASAP.
really appreciate your input! :)
Hi I haven’t received my passport yet.
it has been at AP since May 17th after the interview. Hopefully we could have good news soon!

Ah this explains why yours is taking a little longer than some. You where born in another country. SO the length of time it takes them to get any information they need from China is what will dictate how long it takes to get your visas. As soo as they get everything they need that is when you will be done. Sorry there is not really a timeline to give you.
Thank you! Seems only thing I could do is waiting patiently.

My birth country is Philippines. Do you have any idea if I will also be put on AP? Lol! All police clearances are clear from all the countries I’ve been. 🙏🏽
I think so. I even believe all cases will go through AP. The only difference is the time varies base on each cases.

Does sounds like they are working on it. It is not unusual for the passport returns to take some time.
How long will it take usually at Montreal?
i am freak out since waiting with no update. It gives me hope again when I see the date update

AP is a general term. It is everything from putting your visa in your passport, waiting for additional documents, and waiting for background checks. There is no timeline it can be anything.
Thank you!

Hi! Did you get your passport back? Also, when was your CC and how long before you get interview date? Thank you
Hi we haven’t yet. Still at AP.
our case CC is about end of March. It took about three weeks to get interview date.

My son and I had our CR1/2 interview at Montreal May 17th. The interview seems fine and the consulate told me the visa are approved. It is about to take 2 weeks and they will mail me the passport the visa is ready.
She did handover me a paper saying how to track and pick up the passport (once the passport delivered by them). And a welcome letter also.
but till today both are cases are under Administrative processing. My case last updated was 21th May and my son’s is still the same day as the interview day 17th May.
very stressful. We Have been apart from family one year and half now. It’s just too tough for me and husband and kids.
we are not sure what does the Ap really mean. Or how long it will take.
Is there anyone had interview the same day in Montreal as us? Could u pls share your status? Would Anyone has the same experience share your experience too?
Much appreciate!
Any Advice on Obtaining a China Police Report for a USA Visa, When the Intending Immigrant is no Longer in China??? Please Help!

Hi I found two agencies and one law office
basically the required documents are the same and the procedure is similar
I suggest u email them to see more details upon your own case. You may tell them the purpose for the police check; the city your wife used to live; how long u live there (usually no police check needed if less than 6 months); the cost/how to pay; how to deliver to you; how long it will take in total etc
here below are the email address:
1. service@bjvisa8.com (main office:Beijing)
2.law office: cncc@lawandborder.com
3.agency: yangjie@visainchina.com
Good luck
