My AOS interview was quite a while ago, but yes it went well.  Maybe about 20 minutes including small talk at the beginning.  I was approved on the spot and then the IO gave me the passport stamp immediately before leaving her office without me having to ask for it.  I have a hunch she was a supervisor, though, just a feeling I got from the way she carried herself.

I read your timeline. You’ve gone through quite a journey! Late congratulations!! I’m glad everything worked out.

Apparently, today, unexpected I got a text notification about a status update. I thought fr sure it was my husband’s EAD card, but it wasn’t! I went to check the case status and it said card in production. We are both very relief. We thought we may had to go to another interview since our dates didn’t really match up, but our story did. The dates were mostly when we moved though...

I am glad the unexpected happened! :)

  2. I know this is such a delay response! Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences. I am glad to know the length of the interview and questions asked varies. I hope I will hope I will hear back from them at least less than a year...

Sounds like a normal interview, and the interview was completed.

A lot of mine was just sitting and silently watching the IO staple and punch-hole stuff together, with very few questions just confirming info they already had in front of them and confirming dates of birth/marriage.

Were these documents submitted during the interview when she asked for them, or was she saying they would send a RFE for them later on?

    Did your interview go well?

The documents the Immigration Officer asked for were submitted during the interview.

I have a similar case like you..I did my AOS interview on 30th October 2018 and the USCIS interviewer told me they will review my case and make a decision.  I am still waiting eagerly for the outcome.

Have you sent a service request since it past 120 days?

  3. Sorry, I just thought there was more questions that were going to be asked during the interview, such as about our personal lives, and so far. We only got asked about how we met, and when did we have a romantic date. Although the interview was completed, I just felt we weren’t asked many questions compared to other filers for AOS. Thus, I thought we didn’t get far into the interview...

Thank you Geowrian, we hope it’s anything except for the NOID.... but anything can be possible. I suppose it will be a long wait from here now.

  4. I want to ask if anyone has ever had an experience during an AOS interview where the Immigration Officer didn’t get far during the interview?

    If so, what happened after?

Apparently we spent an hour during the interview process and the Immigration Officer had to end our case with questions about how our relationship developed to a romantic stage. After she finished inquiring, she asked us to submit any documents about commingling of finances and any other eveidences that may help our case showing our history together. We didn’t have the chance to be be asked about other things because of time. I think we spent a lot of time with the Immigration Officer asking my husband questions about his I-485 Form, because he couldn’t remember a lot of dates about his arrival and departure in the U.S., dates we moved, and so forth.

The Immigration Officer had to repeat the questions often as my husband didn’t quite grasp what the Immigration Officer was asking for.

She then handed us the “Notice of Interview Results” with a checked box next to “Your case is being held for review. At this time, USCIS does not require any further information or documents from you. Should further information or documents be required, you will receive a notice in the mail. We may also schedule you for another interview, you will receive a notic ninnthe mail. Otherwise, a final decision will be mailed once your case is complete.”

Overall, I’m not sure if the interview went well.

We understand there may be another interview, however can this prove to be a bad sign if an interview wasn’t fully completed?
