That was written too to the paper that the embassy gave it to you after the interview?  Or just verbal ? Please let me know

It was verbal. She said and I quote, after your interview with NBI mail the passport back to us via 2go.

    Hi

my dad just went to NBI today for a written clearance .and he was told that the written clearance will be forward directly to the embassy . Is this a same case with you guys?  I just wondering after this process how Long it takes that the embassy will going to ask for the passport  to release the visa? Please help. !

NBI will submit the explanation letter to the embassy. According to them they send the explanation letter every Friday. I didnt wait for the embassy to ask me for the passport because I was told by the lady in USEM to mail the passport back as soon as I finish the interview with NBI

It is a very good sign.  The K-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa, processed as an immigrant visa (because of the marriage intent), once the IV unit has approved everything it moves on to NIV  .. soon after ISSUED!    5-10 days later visa in hand - VIH !!!

There is no reason to call anyone.   You have better things to do ...  like packing.  ;)

Thanks everyone for all your help. Visa issued today. Thanks @Hank, @Greenbaum.  For the encouragements

Everything is normal.   Relax, no need to post the same question all over the forum ... the answer will be the same.  ;)

A 221g for additional documents always slows things done, embassy states this right on their website ... more PATIENCE!

Thanks a lot, Also for the patience. Its been a roller coaster ride for me but with the help of great people here it is becoming manageable.

Hi, can i ask for the phone number you called? TIA

  8. Hi VJ friends,

I just want to ask if anybody here has experience on the above question. I had my interview last Feb. 21 and I got a 221g requesting for additional documents, they also asked me to include my passport. I mailed it on March 19 and was received by the embassy on March 22. My case creation date changed last March 27 to Non Immigrant Administrative Processing but up to now there was no change in the status.

I hope anyone can help me. Thanks.

    @Chat

Just about everyone goes through this process.  Based on the discussions I had with the case officer he informed me of the steps to complete the processing of your visa:

the first AP is the immigration unit doing the paperwork for approving the visa

the first ready is a notice that they are finished and the paperwork is being sent for visa issuance

the second AP is the visa issuance people doing their own paperwork

the second ready is that the visa has been issued and is currently being processed for delivery

Then "issue" is posted and the visa has left the BIG house to YOUR house.

Once you get that second ready, it should be sent out within a few days, although we received our visa before any of the various websites that allow you to look up the status said that it had been sent out.

    Thank you very much :)

  10. Hi Visa Journey Friends,

I was just wondering if there is someone the same situation as mine. My status changed from Immigrant to Non Immigrant last March 27, 2019 but I havent had an update since then.  How long does it usually take to change the status? I've read that most that got approved have theirs 2 or 3 days after the change.  Is there someone that changed from Immigrant to Non Immigrant that got refused?

    Thanks in advance.

First, please start a new thread and not hijack this one from 2016. There is old information in here that may not be current and it confuses ppl. To answer your question see below:

When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application" status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.

Sometimes, it might skip "Administrative Processing" and go from "Ready" to "Issued".

My apologies as I am new to this site, i dont know how to open a new thread and thank you very much for your response.

When both dates are updated (case creation and case update) and it's changed from immigrant to non-immigrant it means it's been moved from the visa consular section to the issuing section and entered into that system... congratulations, if that is the case your visa is about to be issued :)

(It will go through AP before issuing which you may or may not see depending on how fast it goes, usually this AP is short and many ppl never notice this change)

    Hi,

Ive been on AP changed from immigrant to Non immigrant since March 27.  I just want to ask if it is standard when it changes to Non immigrant and have a new creation date that it has been approved? I have the same case creation and case update date as March 27.  Thank you very much

It sounds very normal to me. You just wait until the status say issued, which can take a little while (from a day to a few weeks I bet).

My status did something similar, and also changed from Ready to AP (immigrant changed to non-immigrant) back to Ready and then Issued.

    Hi,

I am in the same situation, i just want to know if it was always like that or there are times that it gets refused after being changed to non inmigrant?

  14. Hi,

I just want to check if there is anybody here that was requested by the USEM to send their court documents.  I was already interviewed by the NBI and they already submitted the explanation letter to USEM, I got a mail from USEM asking for my court documents, I just want to know what you submitted?  Thank you in advance
