  1. Good Friday Afternoon,

I'm an I-130 petitioner, filing on behalf of my husband in Nigeria. Since you've already completed the NVC documents, I thought I'd ask you about how you all obtained a Police Certificate as I see your country listed as Nigeria as well. I received our NOA2 Approval last Saturday and we are trying to gather our documents while we wait on the next step in processing. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated! :)

Btw. If you didn’t already know your husband needs his national ID. If he doesn’t already have it he should work on getting it now.

Look here for a comprehensive list of all documents required by the NVC for Nigeria

      Hi. Nice to meet you.

My my husband went to the Central Criminal Registry Force CID Annex, Alagbon Close Ikoyi, Lagos.

He took his international passport and a passport picture. They took his fingerprints (which we had to also submit to the NVC...required for Nigeria).

He paid 5000 naira. They stamped his report and gave it to him.

He had to go back 3 times because the first time they insisted that he didn’t need the fingerprints. We got an RFE for not submitting fingerprints and had to wait 3 more weeks for the NVC to accept the resubmitted police report. Not to mention he had to go to the police station again and pay again.

Then they stamped it with a wrong date.

Make sure you double check it before you leave the police station.

      Congrats on your USCIS approval.
