  1. Btw, my coworker’s husband’s case status changed back to what it was - “oath ceremony will be scheduled”. His interview was in early February, a few days before mine
  2. Thank you for your support! It helps a lot, and we all appreciate it - can’t even tell you how much! It does get frustrating, especially with those illogical status changes by USCIS
  3. Could be...I can only imagine how long enhanced background checks will take
  4. My status changed from "oath will be scheduled" to "case is still being processed by USCIS" last night. It looks like there was a massive bug in their system, as many people were reporting it on Reddit. I had my hopes up for a minute... it's been almost 3 months since my interview
  5. Also, for a high fraud risk country just one meeting can be seen as a red flag. The more time you spend together in person, the better.
  6. Not sure if things have changed since you got naturalized, but the officer specifically told me that those not changing their names get an administrative ceremony in the USCIS building
  7. These are court dates. I think they have their own schedule for judicial ceremonies, and I'm going to have an administrative ceremony, since I didn't request a name change
  8. I passed my interview over 2 months ago. Got approved as I was walking out of the office. The officer said I would get an oath ceremony notice in 2 to 3 weeks. As you can probably guess, I didn't Even though my case is not outside normal processing time yet, it's frustrating as hell... Is there anyone here who is in the same boat? Any Memphis filers waiting for them to schedule the oath ceremony? No name change, general provision, an easy case according to the officer
  9. I got a tourist visa denied - I was working for an American company, and they considered my ties to the US "too strong". In 3 months, we applied for K1 - no issues
  10. They told me 2-3 weeks, but it's been over 5 weeks - and nothing
  11. I had my interview on February 9th, got approved immediately. No oath ceremony notice yet. I'm hoping it's because of the bad weather we had last month, which probably created a backlog for the field office, and not because my home country is on the list. The interview went very smoothly. I was told mine was "an easy case". I wonder how long should I wait before inquiring. Good luck to everyone here!
  12. @Nick_Moscow Even though I am Belarusian and not Russian, my country was also struggling with all the post Soviet era hardships. Was it tough? Oh yes. Do we all have some trauma from growing up in the 90s? Very likely. Honestly, I think it is a huge generalization to assume everybody from ex-Soviet countries is overly controlling. Just imagine what life would be like over there now, considering there's an entire generation of control freaks It would definitely help if you shared a little more information. Different people have different understanding of what being super controlling involves
  13. I had my interview this morning. Memphis FO. It was quick and easy. The officer made me feel at home, so it was definitely the most pleasant part of the journey My case status immediately changed to "Oath ceremony will be scheduled". When I got home and looked at the APIs, I saw something interesting though...not sure if it's just a glitch. The status changed to QB1, then SB, and then back to QB1 in 5 hours. Does anybody know what it's about?
  14. My New Year gift arrived early - my interview, which got canceled on October 20th, finally got rescheduled - hallelujah! February 9th, Memphis. I'm so relieved
  15. Oath ceremony was scheduled on the same day for December 11 while she was driving back home from Memphis
  16. My daughter just passed her interview! Memphis FO. She filed online on August 24. The officer was super friendly, the whole process barely took 10 minutes. My interview was supposed to be on the same day but got canceled...hopefully they will reschedule it some day
  17. I know I ought to be patient, but I'm getting frustrated, as my interview scheduled for November 12th got canceled 18 days ago, and I haven't heard from USCIS since. I know most people have to wait waaaaaay longer, but uncertainty is not a pleasant feeling. My daughter's interview is on the 12th, so I'll let everyone here know how it goes. Congrats to those who got their interviews scheduled!
  18. My November 12 interview got "canceled or descheduled" 😟hopefully they'll reschedule it soon, but right now I'm REALLY nervous... The website is down, which is not helping at all
  19. It sure is - now I see it. Ugh
  20. My daughter applied 2 days after me, and she got hers scheduled as well. 5 years rule for both of us
  21. Filed: August 22nd Interview was scheduled today! I don't know the date yet...so excited! I wish everybody else on this thread the best of luck
  22. I'd talk to an immigration attorney. The case doesn't seem DIY
  23. I’m thinking of bringing evidence of blood donations and regular volunteering at a city animal shelter - just in case. Can’t think of anything else to prove GMC. They are going to see I’m employed from tax documents. Good luck with your interview! Please let us know how it goes
  24. Hello, The USCIS website says an applicant who USCIS determines to have broken the continuity of residence must establish a new period of continuous residence in order to become eligible for naturalization. I wouldn't risk getting denied in this case.
