Holy goodness me 🤯 checked the app and saw my i485 status changed directly to card is being produced!!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯

It's interesting that the status never showed case is approved but I'm assuming since the card is being produced, we are approved right? Anyone know roughly how long it takes from card being produced to getting the card in hand?

Awesome!!! Did you email your congressman? And did you have to provide any supporting documentation or reason on why you are asking for his help? Or is the fact that it's almost past inquiry date is sufficient enough? I may do that this wknd 🤪🤪🤪

We had our interview and did not get approved on the spot either. But the interview started on time and ended in about 45min so can't complain. 

The interviewer was really cold at first and just went through our applications verifying names, dates, financials etc. Then the conversation became more relaxed after we told the story of how we met, how the proposal and marriage went etc. We even made him chuckle a few times 😁

But there was no approval on the spot he made it sounds like it's not common to get a decision on the same day. He said the decision should come out in 3-4 weeks and then if it all goes well, we should get the card in another 4-5 weeks.... 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I really tried staying calm when I heard that.

I did ask him about whether we could still be getting the EAD/AP while we wait for the GC decision, and he said yes as it is handled by a different office/different process. At least that's a relief. I really just need either the EAD or GC at this point!!

Good luck everyone either waiting or is doing an interview soon! Your time will come! And just understand that although it does depend on the subjectivity of the officer in terms of what questions/how deep he will probe into your case and your personal life, it's helpful to prep the interview by looking through your application and remember the key dates you wrote on there so there is no discrepancy during the interview. If anything, if you stick to the truth, you'd be okay!

Honestly if I have an ead card right now, I wouldn't even be in such a rush for gc haha. Of course it'd be great to just have the interview done so we can put that behind us and I am psyched to have my interview this week. But I really just want to be able to work freely independent of the employer asap.

Hopefully the gc approval comes way sooner than 120 days after the interview. On the forum people I saw people see a 1-2 week turnaround.

Would you still be eligible to receive your EAD/AP in the mean time if you don't have that yet? Or do they stop processing as soon as you have your GC interview?

Question: Are we supposed to bring the copies of the actual forms we sent like i485, i765 to the interview?

I have mine this week as well. Feeling nervous even though we have nothing to hide haha but i don't want to forget to bring something or somehow mess up! It's day 199 and there's no word on EAD, but if the gc interview goes well, that's all I need 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

They have lost something the majority of us are loading our packets either way with documents that are not even required. The majority of the time the lose in their warehouses. Look a these pics straight out of their website. This is like straight old school paper based bureaucracy. Where I stand from you got an RFE they noticed something you send it in and you are ok. Guys, question for items to bring to the interview: 

The notice says to bring the "original and copy of each supporting document that you submitted with your application. Otherwise we may keep your originals for our records."

If we submitted copies of the original in our original application, do we need make another copy and bring it?? Why do they need two copies?

Called USCIS to inquire about status. Reached tier 1 officer but was not helpful. Asked to speak with tier 2 officer but the tier 1 said tier 2 stopped taking calls for the day due to the high volume of calls? I called around 6pm ET and they close at 8pm. Wut?? 🙄🙄🙄🙄

For the interview, do I need to bring the original copy of my birth certificate and also the original copy of my partner's birth certificate? We have both submitted copies of the birth certificates. My partner may have lost his original. What to do?? Or is a copy sufficient enough to bring? What are the alternative options? 

Also our letter arrived today yay!

Good timing for me to quit my current job next week and start a new better one! You probably itching to quit too. H1B is like being an indentured servant to a company.  Last fall, I lost another really good job offer when USCIS suspended premium processing and I couldn't transfer my H1B in good time. 

Nice congrats!! Damn are you me as well?? It sucks right now trying to wait it out but we are almost there. Good job to you for lining up your options! Yeah I literally cannot wait for my EAD card and be freeeee 😂😂😂
