I have read that they only accept the vaccines that are provided by the doctor's where you get the medical examination, their office is close to the Cd Juarez USA consulate. I got a few vaccines here where I live in Mexico to then found out that they are not going to accept it

Also I have a question: after you were documentarily qualified how much time did you have to wait for your interview to be scheduled?

Thanks for the feedback. We recieved notice that we were doc qualified back in June 2022. Then they gave us an interview date of 21-July-2023 and notified us on 19-May-2023.

  2. Hello all,

I have 2 questions but first let me layout all the important details...I submitted an I-130 for my wife and another for my stepdaughter in August 2019. USCIS approved the I-130 petitions in April 2020. I filled out, signed and uploaded 1 I-864 into CEAC May 2020. I did not "Submit Documents" until much later due to a custody case that we were waiting on for our daughter. (Biological father has never been in the picture or helped out regardless of how much my wife tried. So he lost custody in 2021, which he never exercised to begin with.) All of our documents were approved and documentarily qualified in May 2023. Our visa appointment is in Ciudad Juarez, Mex on 21-Jul-2023.

So, I've had 3 tax seasons in between that time. The I-864 has an "expired" expiration date. I used 1 I-864 for both my wife and our daughter.

    Questions:

    • Expired I-864: Should I complete, sign and upload another document into CEAC? Or should I complete and sign an updated one so that my wife can hand carry it juuuuust in case they ask for a recent one? We have all of my tax documents for the last few years already.
    • I cannot find where I read that 1 I-864 would be good for both of them. Even though the forms have been documentarily qualified, should I fill out one for my daughter? The one i uploaded to CEAC was the same one I did for her mother. If I should complete a second one.....upload it? or have it on hand in case they ask?

    Thanks in advance!!!!

Updating everyone that has followed this thread.

My fiancée was approved today without having the COVID shots (even with all of the pushing for applicants to have them prior to medical/interview).

    NOA1 July 6th 2021 - to approved today March 3rd 2023 - 21 months total waiting time for K1.

Thank you for sharing. We are in the same exact situation in Jalisco. Nothing available in May 2023.

Technically, police certificates are valid for 2 years from issue date for US immigration purposes.  But the consulate has discretion to ask for more recently-issued police certificates, as you have seen.  I recommend getting a new one to avoid delays from getting 221(g) for it at the visa interview.

Thank you. I think that is a good idea.

When you complete the DS-260, you're given a receipt to indicate that you have completed it.  That receipt has its own ID number.

It is *not* the same as the NVC Case Invoice Number.

They want to make sure that you've filled out and submitted the DS-260 before they give you an appointment.

    Regards,

    Vicky's Mom

Thank you Vicky's Mom. As it turns out we just left this blank because there was no asterisk noting a required field. Do you know if we need to bring that receipt to the interview? The state website says no but maybe it's a good idea.

  6. Hello All,

We just recieved our interview dates for my wife and stepdaughter. The dates are scheduled about 2 months out and it's to be in Ciudad Juarez.

Finding an acceptable vaccine (one that is acceptable by CDC and/or FDA) is proving to be more difficult than I imagined. It's not safe traveling around Mexico so I would rather not do it.

Has anyone been able to use the waiver for their medical examination prior to the interview in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico? Can they provide a full series in the form of a single dose vaccine at the medical examination?

My brother in law had to do a mix and match vaccine last year to re-enter on his B type visa, but even then the airline turned him away at first. I need this to be as smooth as possible. Thanks in advance.

  7. Hello all and thanks in advance for the helpful knowledge. I recently changed my address. This matches my passport and driver's license. However, this does not match the address on my DS-260 that I submitted to the NVC

All documents have been approved and we have been waiting for an interview appointment for 90 days now. I have my wife and daughter and each have their own case ID.

Our priority date is 08-12-2019. Our  consulate will be Juarez, Mexico. Our POE will either be Houston or San Antonio, Texas. (I say "our" because I'll be traveling with them.)

The question is do I need to see about changing the address before the interview? Will we need to bring it up at the interview? Will it be best at the POE?

I can still receive mail at the address on the application. So, do I even need to worry about it at all?

  8. First of all hello and thanks to all who takes the time to read this. I am about to file my wife's I-130 petition. She is a Mexican citizen and I am a U.S. citizen. She has a daughter that I have noted as a relative on the petition. In the I-130 instructions it states that unmarried children under the age of 18 do not require a separate petition. Has anyone any first hand experience in this?

To make matters more complex...my wife currently has a custody case that she just started. This will allow her to immigrate with her daughter. Right now she cannot because the daughter's biological father will not sign the legal documents to allow for her daughter to travel out of the country. Not to mention he has never been in either one of their lives since he's learned of the pregnancy. So....my concern is....if I can put my stepdaughter on my wife's petition but the custody case is not seen through yet will that just be a wasted effort. Should we wait until the custody case is over? Thanks.

  9. I am about to file my wife's I-130 petition. She is a Mexican citizen and I am an American citizen. We were married last February. She has not changed her name legally and she has not changed her passport or other photo ID's. Will us having different names be a problem for the visa process? Would it be worth the time to see to changing her name and requesting a new passport before I file. Thanks in advance.
