  1. Hi All,

My wife and I filed for her Adjustment of Status on July 23rd 2019, and got the notice they received it a few weeks after. We have used RapidVisa (wouldn't have had I known how much information is available from a simple search) and while filling out the worksheets for the I-485 and I-765 we checked the option to have them provide a SSN via the application.

I am seeing other suggestions that we should have sought out an SSN separately at a local office with her I-94 (which is now expired as of the 9/11)

I sent in a request to the USCIS office about this but since there doesn't seem to be a good contact method for them I am at the whim of their support system, which noted my case was still within normal processing times, so that inquiry will probably get mostly ignored.

What are our options now?  Should we just sit back and wait?  Was hoping to have it by now so we could look into getting her a local bank account and a drivers license.

    Thanks,

    Eric

  2. Hi All,

We have our interview scheduled and we printed out the DS-160.  I know there are some things I've read that say it might not be needed but we are in the better safe than sorry mentality right now.

At the end though it asks for signatures.  It has a spot for spouse's signature but I assume that isn't me.  Since I am not officially the spouse yet and I am not going through the interview.  I made the assumption that its probably for a different visa since this is probably a somewhat universal form.

    Thanks,

    Eric

  3. Hi All,

My fiance was planning on doing her exam Friday, but with BPI having magnificent issues, we have yet to pay our Visa fees.  So now that shes going to waste a vacation day, were hoping maybe she can get it done before work one day next week.  What is the average time frame for the process?  An hour? 2 hours?  Half a day?  A full day?

    Thanks for the input!

  4. Hey all,

We got our NOA2 in the mail today, although my.uscis and the uscis.gov web pages haven't reflected it yet.  We were approved on the 11th!  So now, our case in on its way to the NVC and we are awaiting mail from that.

My questions now, are pertaining to what Noelle needs to do on her end.

We are talking with her friend who went through the process and are getting some of her paperwork in line.

Her friend said go ahead and get the medical exam out of the way.  But she needs to get a new copy of her immunization records first.  She says that she needs the NOA2 as well.  If so, does she need to offical copy or can I scan it and email it to her?  What else should we get taken care of while we wait for the case to hopefully clear this last hurdle and get to her embassy?

The medical exam is also good for 12 months?  Just want to be sure if we do decide to get it out of the way instead of waiting for the NVC approval.

    Thanks!

    Eric

  5. My fiance and I applied for her K-1 back at the end of September and have been eagerly awaiting our NOA2.  We got the NOA1 on Oct 5th and while the distance can be draining and the yearning to actually be with each other out right intense.  Hitting Igor's list and seeing more people who got their NOA1 after you get their NOA2's is down right gut wrenching!  Super happy those people are getting theirs but I'm ready for her to be here!  Just non rantingly ranting.
