Thank you for this additional information.

The spouse is actually in the process of applying for a change of status from visitor to student.

If it;s a long term study (IE;  2-4 years) then it would work, but if not, your friend could be viewed as having an intention to stay in the States for adjustment of status and it would make her/his case look bad. I personally was a F-1 student visa before I met my husband (LPR) while I was still in school and the process took almost 2 years. (Pd 05/22/17), I just  got my interview yesterday and the waiting time still goes on, so your friend should be prepared for that.

  3. Hey I just wanna give  some updates about my interview yesterday.

So basically everything went well but the IO said my PD wasn't current, so he would have to call and tell CSC to mail my i-130 to this office instead. He said the 485 is approved, but idk about the I-130. He said it would take maybe 1 week, or 1 month... Anyone on the same board? :(

If the Mt. Laurel NJ office also has the complete I-130 petition then can approve both the I-130 and I-485 on Tuesday. If they don't have it, then they will request it to be transferred to them before approving the I-485. Once they receive the I-130 after Tuesday they can approve both the I-130 and I-485. In both scenarios, it's likely that an additional interview won't be required.

Thank you so much! My I-130 is handled by Cali center so I really hope it will be approved on Tuesday!

i’ve heard horror stories that people were told to wait for decision and it takes months.. Hopefully I will be the lucky one ;)

  5. Hi guys,

I was super excited to have my interview next week on 04/02 but I'm concerning about my I-130 still pending
I'm an F2A case and my pd is 05/22/17, CSC.
I filed my AoS 06/22/18. Case was handled by Mt. Laurel NJ field office.
While I've seen so many people from my country got approved and their PD already passed May (June something already) while my case is still showing nothing on the website (case is received)
I have my husband called USCIS and they said it might depend on the interviewer decision, but idk what would be other scenarios that I should expect? My EAD will be expired 08/22 so I will need to file for my new EAD soon if I wanna get my card on time and everything prepared.

    Any experience?
    Thanks!

Our AOS changed back to interview ready to be scheduled as of February 12th. I feel like we had a date and lost it which sucks hard since we have no EAD. We are waiting on the Congressman's office now. Unfortunately a lawyer isn't an option anymore. We can't justify the expense.

Did you try to place an expedite request? If you did they might answer you really quickly. I got the email answered me right on the same day about my expedite request. They said my case was ready to be scheduled so they can't expedite it (my status was "finger print was completed" or sth)

Here in NY is by borough, I’m in BK and of course we have the longest wait time of them all🙄 19.5-36.5 wait 👏🏽 but I’m ok with waiting for my 10 yr GC 🤣 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

OMG, mine is 9.5-13.5 months. Well, I won't complain anymore then lol.

Btw when you land, you can ask the officer over there and they will tell you where to go, if you travel with your USC you should be able to stand in the USC line

I almost had a stroke when my card was supposed to be delivered and the post office said they lost it but then the card showed up and uff peace ✌🏽 since you’ve been waiting for so long I’m sure you’ll be next in line and this nightmare (that no one tells you about) will soon be over for you🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

I'm sure if I were you, I would feel the same since it would take forever for them to give out a replacement card. Your office is in NY so it might take longer than other places? I saw some people from Detroit got their interview after 3-4 months, I'm jealous lol

yeah, but it's like getting an appointment at the doctor's office though, maybe there is a cancellation and they can fit you in. Who knows!

I'm crossing my fingers for the best to come ;) I'm pregnant and due July this year so I just hope I get done with all of the paperwork and headache from USCIS before my baby is born lol

Thank you so much for the helpful advice :)

Yes. My PD is April 27th, CSC, but I have heard May filers getting approval. Don't know why they skip some cases.

I think it also depends on your nationality. Let's say there are 1000 ppl from your country applied before you, then you would have to wait to be the 1001. Might take awhile but well, we've already been waiting for almost 2 years, what else we can do? 😢
