Got my green card in mail today
-
Here is an update from my side. After 114 days status of my green card application changed. Looks like they lost my electronic visa packet and USCIS itself filled my OS155A. They have now approved my OS155A and sent the request further to produce actual green card. Below is the copy paste from case status tool.
Card Is Being Produced
We have approved your Form OS155A, Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration, Receipt Number IOE***********. On January 16, 2020, we ordered your card to be produced. We will mail your card to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I entered the US in September 2019 on CR-1 visa and currently at 112th day of waiting for Green Card. I received my SSN within one month of entering the US. I paid my immigrant fees in August 2019. On case tracker tool it says "Immigrant fees received" and on USCIS account it says "In Process". Should I be worried as I am almost at 120 days period? Should I raise inquiry to USCIS or wait for some more days? I would appreciate your help. Thanks!

That’s great. Indeed VJ has been a great help. BTW which part of states you are?

Sir, your original response to him was completely irrelevant to what he said.
Now you're just being patronizing. You have no idea what any of us have been through, so we don't need "to be spoken down to about "real life". Give me a break.
Completely agree with you.

Due to the Canadian government cutting off healthcare once you activate a green card. You have to spend more time in the USA than out. Now OHIP for example, cuts off your healthcare after 182 days outside of Ontario or if you declare residency in another country. In case youre wondering, yes people have called and asked. Yes I talked to service Canada and Canadian immigration quite a bit before immigrating since we hadnt decided a direction for quite some time after marriage.
If you live in the USA and work in Canada you can do that. You declare yourself a non-resident on your Canadian taxes. The US requires LPR to file taxes as a resident. You need US healthcare.
You can live in Canada and have a commuter green card too. But taxes and healthcare become muddy again.
So this all has to do with Health care in Canada. But It does not impact on "Immigration" status. The only thing impact on Immigration status of Canadian PR person is not fulfilling the residency obligations because of moving out of Canada.

This information "You can't be a resident of Canada and a resident of the USA" is completely wrong. There is nothing like you can't be a resident of both countries at the same time. The only thing which make you "NOT A RESIDENT" of either country is not complying with the residency requirements. If you have PR status in both countries and living either side but working other then your status is active in both countries. There are thousands of people who are dual citizen so when dual citizenship is allowed then you can easily figure out the scenario. I don't know how people are having this understanding?
Famous dual citizen personalities: Elon Musk, Justin Bieber, Jim Carry. (All these people have Canadian status before acquiring status in the US)
Consider these scenarios:
Scenario 1: You are a PR of the US and Canada. You live in Buffalo, NY and cross border daily to Niagara Falls, ON for a job. Your status is active in both countries.
Scenario 2: You are a PR of the US and Canada. You live in San Jose, CA and didn't live in Canada for at least 730 days in last 5 years period. Therefore, you fail to fulfillment residency requirements of Canada and won't be able to renew your PR card or apply for Canadian citizenship. Hence, loosing your Canadian status.
I hope this clears all.

You can't be a resident of Canada and a resident of the USA for many things like health care for example. That doesn't mean the PR status is void or even that the OP may not be able to do his plan. He needs to contact Canada immigration to understand what they think.

But I think you should still submit the online inquiry despite what they told you over the phone. Maybe they take that more seriously and look more in depth into your case.
I think it was here at visajourney that I read someone had submitted a document that was showing on his CEAC but not on the NVC side...something like that....maybe your situation is something similar!
For me case is showing complete on CEAC and also on NVC side.

waiting is not an issue but its really sad to see when I am waiting but people with case complete after me are already done with interview.
-
Yes there is but last time when I spoke with a representative from NVC then he told me that the reply would be the same what he is telling me.

Hi all. I am waiting for CR-1 interview for Montreal consulate since January 2019. Its already been 5 months that my case got documentarily complete at NVC and every time I call NVC they just reply same thing "Case is complete and there is no interview scheduled". I don't know why its taking so long for them to schedule an interview for me however, I have seen people who got Case Complete after me getting their interviews done. I don't know what to do? And whom to contact?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Where did you find this that Canadian PR would be void once you have US Green Card? How does status in the US matter to Canada? I don’t believe this at all. However, if you stay less than 3 years period out of 5 years even then too your Canadian status does not get void. You have to voluntarily renounce your Canada PR status by notifying the authorities. Your Canadian status doesn’t get void automatically.

I just got CC Monday. May I add you to the group waiting for interview date? You are CR1/IR1 right?
That’s good. Sure please add me. I am waiting for CR1.

Hi! Did you get your interview date finally?
No I didn’t get anything yet. What about you?

Ooopsy. Sorry! Yes please do. It’s been over the 90 days and you’ve seen timelines of fellow Cr1 and their interview dates. Pls update us of any progress. 🙏🏽
Sure I’ll.

They just say the same thing all the time with everything. It’s like no use of calling them. So maybe ask your husband to call senator or write or however you can reach him.
Actually i am the husband. Thanks for the suggestion. I would try to contact senator.

He shld. Average time is 60-90 days from CC to interview i think. I am not sure. You are past 90 days!
I even asked this to NVC once that I am out of 90 days and lady told me that we try to book in 90 days but there is no guarantee and there is no fix time.

Im so sorry this is happening to you. We called a while back too and were told the same thing with being in queue. But I feel they have missed something for your case, that seems very odd and unfair that others have gotten dates and you're all the way back in January. I would keep calling or have someone review your case because something isn't right.
I asked them that is there anything wrong? They just say everything is fine and you are just in queue. I even asked them that Is there any formal way to put request so that someone review my case? They said even if you put formal request you would get same answer that you are waiting in queue. Should my partner in US contact local senator?

Well clearly you are not in queue because people who got CC after you are already done with interview or they already have dates. And they are the same category as you. I wld say they base on date of marriage but ive seen your profile and your marriage is not just recently or last yr. Pls keep calling.
Yea I do call them regularly and wait hours for someone to pick. I don’t know what to do? They just say one and the same thing everytime. I am totally dejected.

It really is strange! You got CC before Mbnb. Also, ive seen CR1 with CC february and already done with interview April
Yea and I feel lost. Last time when I called NVC i asked the lady if by any chance they skipped or lost my case? She said there is nothing such and I am waiting in queue. She told me that she doesn’t know how many people are infront of me.

That's really strange, I'm not super positive but does it have something to do with the priority date being current? You would have to be current by now.
For CR1 visa there is nothing to do with priority date current because visas are always ready.
I-551 Green Card Not Received Over 120Days

I did make an International trip without my green card and there was absolutely no issue. While boarding and at layover airport they asked me for physical packet but I explained them that my packet was electronic and it has been processed already and I am waiting for my physical green card. Only thing is that you need to be prepared for Secondary inspection after landing in US and reason of your travel.
