Being in your subforum it's the place learn from others.

Ahhhh. Sweet Caroline. It doesn't get sweeter then that!

Hey greenbaum, just a quick note that I'm still in non immigrant AP since April 24th and with no updates at all on CEAC. Do I need to worry at this point.. I emailed my embassy and senator and said the same thing as always that it's still going under necessary administrative processing and will notify us when complete. But I thought after turning into non immigrant status we should be almost done.

Me and my fiance are under a lot of stress. My vacation is almost done and will be flying back to the USA soon with no news.. It's been 17 months for us since start. And 6 months since interview.. 😞

    Any words that can help?

Unfortunately, approval is not really assured until the visa is actually issued.  Even after the CO says the word "approved", the case can be refused or even sent back to USCIS.  It is unfortunate that COs use that terminology.

When it's returned back to uscis it means it's refused, do they notify us?? Because I'm worried our case have not been uodated for over a month.. Yet they didn't ask us to submit anything and we did not receive any papers or mail or emails.

Thats true and very unfortunate. They assured us and we got our house and made plans.. That all went to waste, money and time wasted.

I hope they allow us to be with the people we love soon

So what does that mean if I may ask @Falcon Cara

AP is a hell hole for everyone.

My fiance did his interview in January and he was told he was approved and they gave him a piece of paper as well and also they took his passport we believe that it was over and we made plans. Little did we know that there's another six months of processing after that minimum..

They do not tell you but the issue is or what they are doing they could be doing simple paperwork or they could be doing extreme vetting and investigations on you and your family and your fiance for example I already contacted my senator and lawyers and I also contacted the embassy by me flying all the way over here to be able to talk to the consulate and I get the same news every time we just have to wait..

But rest assure I believe almost 99 % of immigrant applicants go through AP.

You're going through normal processing.  No one can say with any certainty when you'll have your visa. Just need more patience.  Don't make any plans or purchase airline tickets until you have your visa in your hads. The visa is not approved until it has been issued and you have it your hands.

Hello everyone. I wanted to comment on this because we have been in administrative processing for about 5 months and I have now there's no timeline for that and yes I will keep us updated almost every couple days on the website but right now it hasn't been updated for over a month after it changed to non immigrant administrative processing. I understand this is actually a normal process for everybody and it can take months depending on the case so our fingers are crossed that it will be done soon, usually administrative processing takes a minimum of 180 days so expect to wait a lot longer in some cases.

It's sad but hang in there. It's Normal after the trump extreme vetting on almost every applicant.

I think a lot depends on the country you’re from - can’t see from your profile - whilst six months AP is excessive for the average beneficiary from the UK, it may be entirely normal, depending on the country you interviewed in...

Thanks for the info. My fiance is from Lebanon. I do believe it's taking a lot longer than expected specially when a fiance visa should be faster than others. But I guess it's all the same now.

Still hoping they will call us soon. 🤞

This week marks six whole months of administrative processing post successful interview with no 221g so we hired a lawyer last week. We're hoping for some good news as she was completely blown away by some of the things the embassy has said to us (like that the visa was issued in January), the fact that our case is so clean cut (no criminal records etc, no divorces, no previous filings) and nothing was ever requested after the fact and our case has never once been updated on the CEAC site. So, here's to hoping she gets some answers and results as two senators and my congressman have abandoned their support for our case. 😏

We are in the same boat. And have been in AP for 6 months now. I am not sure what to do. Our case now says non immigrant AP supposed to be a good sign but yet they haven't updated the case since April 24th... 😞 I had to fly over seas now and have left my business behind and lost a lot of money. Any advise?

How’s ur status? If it changed to non immigrant (K1) next will be issued. Good luck

Thank u! I'm just very concerned.. It changed to non immigrant 8 days ago and still no calls from embassy and no updates. They asked him to submit his passport twice allready and they return it empty.. It's just very frustrating knowing they play with people's lives like this

Usually. Though we were sitting at non-immigrant Application Received for 12 days for no apparent reason... then it flipped to Administrative processing late in the evening (Moscow time) and flipped to Issued the next morning.

Hello. We are on the same boat. Just change to non immigrant application received.

Does that mean one more AP happens before visa issuing?

  11. Hello,

I am starting this new forum in hopes to get some help.

This is our visa timeline so far

Did the interview in Lebanese embassy on January 8th  told him he was approved and took his passport.

January 12th they returned his passport empty with no visa and no additional slips at all and no instructions.

January 14th went into administrative processing. For over 2 and half months.

Then on March 22th they called him to submit his passport.. Bringing joy to both me and my fiance.

It's been 10 days with them holding his passport.  He got a call today saying they will return his passport empty again!!

Now status online shows as non immigratant application received!

So I don't understand why would thru return his passport if it is allready application received and approved.

    Hope anyone can help.

    Thank you

Hello I appeared for the L1A  interview on the 2nd August (Me, Spouse, Kid and dependent sisted (B2 cohabitant) in London. We where told visa is approved and we should get it in 4 - 5 working days. Today is the 4th working day and the status on CEAC is still showing "Your case is open and ready for your interview, fingerprints, and required documents. If you have already had your interview, please check your status after two business days. If no interview was required, please check back in two business days for the status of your application".  Am worried :(

Hello. I am just wondering if anyone can help me ease my mind here. Since you all stopped posting since August 2018. My fiance has been aksed to submit his passport to the embassy 10 days ago. It just change to application received after being in AP for over 2 months. But then embassy called him again saying it is in AP  again.. And asked him to come pick up an empty passport. I am so confused. Status still shows Application received.. Why would they ask him to submit his passport.. I'm so worried we have been in process for one year and 3 months... We are waiting to start our life and it's super hard. Can please anyone advise what does it mean to be in AR now and when this visa will be issued.

Also they told him he was approved at the interview asked us to sibkijt ds 5535 form back in January and been AP ever since. Now changed to AR..

Any info would help thank you

  13. Can someone please help?.. my fiance did his K1 visa interview 4 days ago he was told by the consulate that the Visa was approved and gave him a piece of paper the show where to pick up his passport and how to track it and today I was checking the Visa status online and I seen that it was in  AP and I know it says that it's normal but at this point I'm worried because of one little detail  that they returned his passport today. He went to pick it up thinking its good news and now we are very worried. does that mean I have to wait too long or is that also normal considering 2018 changed most of the process in addition they did not require any documents or send us any emails stating anything from us Is needed and I even called the embassy and asked they said that they return the passport in case he needs to use it in the mean time and for now I just have to wait. Any advise? Please I can use it.
