  1. I attended my swearing in ceremony on March 26th so the chapters of my life involving USCIS are now over. I can’t tell you the relief I feel! I’ve found the entire journey quite stressful and anxiety inducing being in limbo for the past 5 years. For those waiting for news on I751 &/N400 and feeling a similiar way, hang on in there. Your time is coming and it’s worth the wait. ✨ I wont be active in any threads from here but I’m open to DM’s about the naturalization interview or ceremony if anyone wanted to reach out with questions. Best of luck. 🤞🏽

  3. Informed delivery isn’t available at all postcodes unfortunately. I wanted to set this up as we were due to move during the process but it’s not available in this area (I live in a city not somewhere rural 🤷🏽‍♀️) so ended up listing my attorneys office as my mailing address. I did however get a notification on my USCIS account saying my ceremony has been scheduled without anything appearing in the mail and the app isn’t updated. So just a PSA to everyone to check all bases as you may have news waiting for you. 😊
  4. I checked my online USCIS account and saw I finally have a ceremony scheduled for March 26th. They must be working hard through the backlog & appear to have arranged a huge catch all one at an event centre in my city rather than at the courthouse! For those who already attended, what happens at the ceremony? I’ve heard it is 2 hours long but that’s all I know and I feel a mix of nerves and excitement at the uncertainty. 😅
  5. It’s worth keeping an eye on your online USCIS account!! I had a combo interview come through in the mail for the same day and time as the naturalisation interview and then out of the blue it was waived for unknown reasons. I didn’t realise I had been approved for I751 until the greencard showed up in the mail! Good luck to you! 😊
  6. I filed under the 3 year rule and my husband didn’t need to come with me! He only would have needed to go if we were having a combo interview for my pending I751 which ended up being waived/cancelled anyway! 🤷🏽‍♀️
  7. Good question! I don't know the answer to that 🤷‍♀️ My instinct tells me it's better to be patient & just wait it out here than risk complicating things by travelling at this stage. If anyone has personal experience with this though, I’d be curious to hear! Otherwise, I'm just checking my mailbox and the website regularly to see when the ceremony will be. 😊🥳
  8. Yay that’s speedy and reassuring to hear. What were the fees? Did you have to send off your British passport? I’m itching to get back to England to see my new nephew who was born this month but I’m currently in limbo waiting for the citizenship ceremony date so need to patiently stay put. 😅
  9. Thank you. Well, I got all of them right that I was asked! But I wrote the specific questions & resources I used to study further up in this thread if you are curious if the questions overall are easy! 😊
  10. Thank you to you both. I look forward to hearing updates from you to celebrate in the future too. 😊✨
  11. I posted this in the October N400 filers section but wanted to update here too that I had my citizenship interview on Tuesday and was approved. It was the easiest part of all of the processes. I arrived at 11:30am, my appt time was 11:55am but they called me after only maybe 10 mins of waiting and I was out of the building at 12pm. First I was asked to take a photo and do index finger prints only, then the officer asked me to show my 10 year green card, 2 year now expired one & my passport. I was asked 6 questions for civics, asked to write a simple sentence on a tablet (We pay taxes.), read out-loud a sentence on a tablet & then she asked me to confirm address, how long I’ve lived there, date of marriage, if I have children etc. then all the ‘are you a terrorist?’ Style questions lol. Then I had to sign some things and that was it. I was told to hang on to my green cards & was handed a piece of paper saying they recommend my case for approval and verbally told there’s a back log right now of people needing oath ceremonies so I’ll likely have it sometime in March or April. The app is updated already to say the oath ceremony will be scheduled and I’ll be sent a letter in the mail. Best of luck to everyone waiting on news. I’ll check here from time to time but for now, it’s so surreal to be done with this journey!!😊
  12. Thank you! Yes. I’ll def keep an eye on the online account as I noticed it’s been updated much faster than the app for notices. What ocean is on the West Coast of the United States? Who is the president of the United States? How long do we elect a state representative for? Who is in charge of the executive branch? Name one war fought by the United States in the 1800s. During the Cold War, what was the main concern of the United States? I used this website to study: https://civicsquestions.com/all/ & then in the build up to the interview I used this video on YouTube as I found it more difficult to recall answers when listening to the questions as some sounded similiar to me -

I was very anxious so have forgotten a lot already 😂 Best of luck to everyone waiting on news. 😊
  14. Thanks for taking time to offer some words of encouragement. I am very thankful to have being a native English speaker in my corner. I have paid taxes but I do have some items in my criminal background when I was a juvenile, I keep telling myself they haven’t been an issue to date though. 🤞🏽 Good luck to you for tomorrow! If you feel called to, I’d love to hear how it goes. 😊
  15. I have my interview on Tuesday 6th and I am starting to get very nervous. I do have anxiety & experience brain fog in exams when stressed so trying to tell myself, “don’t worry, you know the answers, it will be fine” is it like throwing a teacup of water on a raging fire. Especially when there are hormones at play, the women in this group will empathise with the Sod’s Law timing of realizing you will have your period on an important occasion. 😂😬😅 Has anyone who’s been through the process recently got any advice or tips to share? I’m trying to tell myself this is the final hurdle and what sweet relief I’ll feel when it’s all complete & I can either celebrate (or console myself 😅) with copious amounts of Cadbury chocolate. 🤞🏽✨🇬🇧🇺🇸
  16. Ooft the time is whizzing by. I updated here on Dec 23rd to say I was pleasantly surprised to be invited for a combo interview for I751 and N400 on Feb 6th. I didn’t check the app or website for a while as I got busy with the holidays so didn’t realise that on Dec 27th my status randomly changed to new card being produced and my 10 year card arrived in the mail on Jan 2nd. It went to my attorneys office as I had that listed as the mailing address as I thought I was going to be moving during the process & wanted a safe spot for any correspondence to be mailed to. I have no clue why they invited me for an interview to then decide it wasn’t necessary but I’ll take it! Lol. Next steps now are to just revise for the civics exam and find something to wear for the naturalisation interview!!! I’m extremely nervous but also very excited. Hope others get good news soon!!! ✨🎉 Quote

  18. So I eventually got 2 notices in the mail, one for I751 interview and one for citizenship. & then a letter that said I was invited for both interviews on the same day. My online account only showed me the citizenship letters. I751 still isn’t updated. Have you not received anything like that in the mail? In your shoes, I would actually enquire about this to USCIS and not just hold onto hope/have fingers crossed. Especially if you haven’t heard anything about biometrics being reused nor been invited for fingerprints for I751. I imagine they are just slow to update but better to be safe than sorry, right? 😅 Best of luck!
  19. Yes, I’m waiting for a combo interview which is scheduled for Feb 6th. My I751 is still stuck on “case was updated to show finger prints were taken” which it has been on that status for the last 410 days lol.
  20. I received the best early Christmas present ever!! I was curious so I logged onto the account (the app remains unchanged!) to see if the processing time for N400 had changed from 7 months and was so surprised to see my citizenship interview has been scheduled for February 6th!!!! My FO is Spokane, WA. Can’t believe how fast this is. I filed by paper on October 23rd 2023. 😬🎉🤯😅😊 My ROC application still shows the same online as finger prints are being reused so I assume I’m having a combination interview! Hope others get some movement and good news soon too. ✨ Quote
  21. Thanks to everyone for sharing your interview experiences. I just received the best early Christmas present ever!! 22. I was surprised at how little I knew about any of the questions so decided to start early in a casual way to make it less stressful for myself lol. I’d be lying if I also said that a friend’s experience isn’t in the back of my mind. She went for an interview without studying as she thought it was just an interview for I751 (insanely quick processing having only applied for N400 2 months before) and failed the test because she got unlucky with all the questions for dates and numbers. Apparently it wasn’t clear on the interview paperwork that it was a combo interview. USCIS forever keeping us on our toes!!! 😅
  23. My processing time for N-400 dropped down to 5 months. No movement for I-751 but hoping we all get pleasant surprises to celebrate here soon in 2024. 🎉
  24. It’s exciting seeing people being called for interview. My processing time dropped to 5 months & I’ve decided to not peek anymore for a while and hope I get a pleasant surprise here soon! In the meantime just doing a practice test a couple times a week to stay familiar with the questions. 😃
  25. It looks like my biometrics are being reused again for naturalization and I am showing at 7 months estimated processing time. It feels good to be back at that stage of nothing to do but wait & keep everything tightly crossed that all goes smoothly from here. ✨🤞🏽 I am excited to see the first person get an interview or approval scheduled in our month. It’s coming!! 😊
