CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!
I hope the waiting is not too long!
-
I would include originals of everything, and photocopy your entire passport- the blank pages and covers.
Also for the I 134- I would also include originals of all documentation.
For the I 134 I am sending:
1. letter from my employer (on letterhead) of my salary, my current standing with the school dostrict (excellent employee with tenure), value of my life insurance-
2. My currrent tax form and past three years W-2
3. My retirement statement of value
4. My 2006 Social Security statement which lists all of the wages of every year of my life.
5. My TSA- stock statement which shows the present value of my account.
My bank statements, I am not including, as my savings balance is pitiful!
Hopefully, this will be enough.
Good Luck!

I also support this request. The Ankara Embassy has a plethora of excellent up to date information, AND forms and instruction in both Turkish and English. It is so helpful, and I believe many other than myself would benefit. We are probably up for an interview in June/July for the K-1
Thank you!
Christine

Congratulations! You must feel so relieved!!! Best wishes for a speedy process!

The latest I134 form I can find has an expiration date of April 30, 2007. Our interview will not be until June- does anyone foresee a problem with this?
Thanks!
-
Congratulations!
Now just gather all of the paperwork for the Packet 3
It's such a great feeling isn't it?
-
You made my day!!!! Really! This picture was taken in October, but perhaps with the condensed pixels you can't see the small wrinkles aroung my eyes.
Noone ever thinks I'm 38, I guess good genes... none the less, 22 at heart
-
Please don't worry... Omer is 32 and I am 38, and we've been speeding through the process.
-
I've only been frenetically researching the stage I am in... So $170 to file, and $100 at the interview appears pretty cheap. But, the hidden costs (not counting the HOURS and DAYS of research and prparation of packets) are higher for me... i.e.- translation of documents for 129F=$100.00, DHL from Turkey to here..$90.00USD, Kinkos copying costs and Staples supplies= $60.00 USD. Mailing costs for overnight express- $20.00 USD
We'll not even speak of hotels, trains and airfare for the interview.
I'm curious as to the total for processing fees once my fiance enters the USA in October, Novermber.
Thanks for posting this question!

About fighting-I don't wish to sound like a 'pollyanna', but seriously- we do not need to spar so much and post with such sarcasm. This visa process is difficult enough. OK- some some of us read things differently than others, or respond differntly.
Can't we be a little nicer?
-
That was me. I phoned at 11:58 pm (EST), and knew live operators left at 12:00 am, but sure enough, my call was answered, and the gentleman was so helpful and nice!
Good luck!
-
Thank You! Actually, I'm hoping the interview won't come too quickly, as I don't arrive in Turkey until late June
-
Congratulations! I am so happy for you both!!!!
-
I don't know how or why, but I did get my NOA2 on March 15. I'm crossing my fingers for you!
-
I'm so happy- I just spoke with the most helpful and kind NVC rep- My case was mailed out today to Ankara! (I phoned because when I called the automated system- they had no record of my case at NVC) This kind man informed me, that K-1's do not get entered into the automated system because they exit so quickly to the embassies abroad--- SOOO...
Nvc rarely holds on to K-1 and it also rarely puts it into the automated phone system.
Hope that helps some searchers

ugghhh... last night i spoke with an nvc rep who gave me a case number. when i telephoned tonight via the automated system, and typed in that case #- the computer said - we have no record of that case number ---
the man i spoke with last night said that my case arrived on the 19th, today I received NOA2 snail mail.
Could it simply be that they have not entered my case number on to the automated system? I know that noone could know- but I needed to vent my worries!
thanks,
Christine

I'm concerned about my SO (who will enter JFK, and get the work stamp), will have a job in the first two weeks he is here, and then after we marry have to terminate that job and wait months for a proper work permit. Is this really true?
-
If it meant that huge a reduction in wait time, I would gladly pay the fee as well!
-
I'd like to think that we might be on this planet to do more than just serve ourselves. If there is a way to help others, to improve democracy, to reduce 'the hell' that we are curently going through, to be with our love, then we should.
How can you say- well the fees won't affect me, my fiance will be in before the raise?
I don't know who created this site, but you are benefitting from their outreach to help others. I don't think this site was created for ANY self-serving reasons!
Thank you TimsDaisy- not only am I going to write a letter to my seantor, but the 109 students I teach, and their families who are living through my process will write as well.
If they are condensing the fees that's one thing, but I believe there is much mor on the agenda. I have not read the document fully, but will do so this week.

There's a bit more than that....
DOS
DS156
DS156K
I 134
(Unless these have already been completed???)
Sorry,
I thought you were a K-1 .
I'm not sure what you are filing for I130? IN that case, I'm not sure
-
At exactly midnight an operator from NVC answered my call! My case file arrived yesterday, and I received the case number. He distinctly said "at this time we need nothing from you. We intend to send this case to Ankara as soon as possible". YEAH!- How do I track it now?
Thanks!!!!

Congratulations! Your post was beautiful and heartfelt. I think most couples do not go through the stress, hardship and plain work that we do to get a Visa. We can only be stronger for this when we are FINALLY together!
Have any of you experienced this?

It sounds like it might not be as bad as you think. The waiver sounds very promising. I'm crossing my fingers for you!
