Quick Update : We received approval on May 29, and the greencard arrived in the mail on June 7.
Its a very cool card- all of the portraits of the presidents from Washington to Bush are on the magnetic stip on the back.
Now some peace for 2 years

We just received this e-mail- Do you think it is a definite AOS approval?
"On May 29, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.
If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.
*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov under Case Status and Processing Dates.

Thanks- we're hoping so!

Congrats to all! This leg of the journey is really moving quickly for Feb filers! (So much better than the hateful K-1 wait)
-
Congrats Mel and Daniel and JaEnglishGirl!!!!!
-
We've had 4 touches in the past 10 days on our AOS. But, no greencard
At least we received the AP papers and the EAD card. all is moving much more quickly than we anticipated.
Godspeed to all!
-
This is new news to me- my husband stopped working when we married because I read that the EAD stamp was only valid while engaged. Hmmm- I trust your feedback- you are always on target, I only wish I would have known this then
-
JFK authorizes work while ENGAGED. As soon as you marry this "temporary work permit" expires. It's not until after you receive the EAD when you file for AOS that you can work 'legally'. So- what is the point of this stamp- if you need to terminate your job while you wait 3-4 mos for the EAD.
My understanding is that many employers overlook this. Technically, from what I've read you are allowed to work on a K-1.
I've not ever read a post of a problem.
Good Luck!

Congrats Bam Bam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hoping for all a speedy GC

April 29= EAD Card productino ordered AND AP approved.
Just waiting for the AOS!

APRIL 11 CRIS e-mail: Your case has been transferred to the California Service Center!!!
I think this is good news... we'll see
-
Thank you- ! We were hoping for a transfer so I don't have to take any more time off from work for an interview...
-
Congrats!!!!! It's easy going from here...
Although it seems ages ago, I remember the joy!!!
-
Welcome! This site is amazing- and I believe I have spent hundreds of hours learning, receiving support and encouragement and much more!
Good luck on your journey!

Finally we can track the AOS online (they put it in on 08/April, and there is a touch on the 9th) THey received our RFE and have 'resumed processing'
BUT- it says that our case is now at the National Benefits Center-
We mailed the original to Chicago- is this a transfer?
Does anyone know if processing times are longer there, and if an interview is still in order?
Thanks,
Christine
BTW- we can't see our AP online either- only the EAD and AOS
Godspeed to all!
-
Hi,
Again thank you for keeping the spreadsheet up to date- it's a huge help!
We received our BIOMETRICS for 3/26... Praying for no RFE's

Thanks for the data!
I am "phila" and the Received date on our NOA1's is February 25, 2008.
The notice date is February 29th, 2008
(I wrote you earlier that March 4th was the NOA1 date- but that was when we received it in the mail)
Thanks!
Christine

Hi,
I am "phila" and we received our NOA1 on March 4 for all 3 AOS documents- Could you update this on your chart? Thanks so much!
-
We received NOA1's via snail mail (3 of them) for the I131, I485, and I765.
BUT- we cannot register online at the USCIS with the receipt number. And, for some reason, all three notices did not come from the Chicago lockbox where we sent it, but rather Lee's Summit, MO.
We're now just waiting for a Biometrics appt- and hopefully no RFE's. (We're kind of expecting one for not sending in the vaccination form.

Well, we filed AOS on Feb. 23- (certified return receipt) and the check hasn't been cashed nor, the USPS green reply card returned. We are starting to worry.
I haven't a clue of where we are now...
-
I also was married in Nov. 07, and am filing married/jointly with a typed statement (as per IRS guidelines) stating that my husband wishes to be considered a resident alien. I don't know anything about ITIN, but will search.
I am concerned about comments about 10weeks. If I need more information, I will file papers for an extension. Filing jointly refunds us a good deal of money.
thinking they meant married but seperate (maybe) or maybe they did mean single ha hard to say -
There is a great guide to this under the AOS forum- but for the same 1010.00 price you can add an advance parole travel document (I-131) in case your fiance needs or wants to travel whilst waiting for the Green Card. We did this a s a precaution when we discovered that some people were in Administrative review for months...
After marrying my fiance, what forms am I suppose to fill out and send out? I currently see that I am only need to send the following:I-485
I-864
I-765
To the following address
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
P.O. Box 805887
Chicago, IL 60680-4120
Am I missing something or do I need to do anything else? Thanks for your help.
