  1. We just received this e-mail- Do you think it is a definite AOS approval?

"On May 29, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov under Case Status and Processing Dates.

*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

    Thanks- we're hoping so!

  2. JFK authorizes work while ENGAGED. As soon as you marry this "temporary work permit" expires. It's not until after you receive the EAD when you file for AOS that you can work 'legally'. So- what is the point of this stamp- if you need to terminate your job while you wait 3-4 mos for the EAD.

My understanding is that many employers overlook this. Technically, from what I've read you are allowed to work on a K-1.

I've not ever read a post of a problem.

    Good Luck!

  3. Finally we can track the AOS online (they put it in on 08/April, and there is a touch on the 9th) THey received our RFE and have 'resumed processing'

BUT- it says that our case is now at the National Benefits Center-

We mailed the original to Chicago- is this a transfer?

Does anyone know if processing times are longer there, and if an interview is still in order?

    Thanks,

    Christine

BTW- we can't see our AP online either- only the EAD and AOS

    Godspeed to all!

  4. We received NOA1's via snail mail (3 of them) for the I131, I485, and I765.

BUT- we cannot register online at the USCIS with the receipt number. And, for some reason, all three notices did not come from the Chicago lockbox where we sent it, but rather Lee's Summit, MO.

We're now just waiting for a Biometrics appt- and hopefully no RFE's. (We're kind of expecting one for not sending in the vaccination form.

  5. I also was married in Nov. 07, and am filing married/jointly with a typed statement (as per IRS guidelines) stating that my husband wishes to be considered a resident alien. I don't know anything about ITIN, but will search.

I am concerned about comments about 10weeks. If I need more information, I will file papers for an extension. Filing jointly refunds us a good deal of money.

thinking they meant married but seperate (maybe) or maybe they did mean single ha hard to say
  6. There is a great guide to this under the AOS forum- but for the same 1010.00 price you can add an advance parole travel document (I-131) in case your fiance needs or wants to travel whilst waiting for the Green Card. We did this a s a precaution when we discovered that some people were in Administrative review for months...

After marrying my fiance, what forms am I suppose to fill out and send out? I currently see that I am only need to send the following:

    I-485

    I-864

    I-765

    To the following address

    U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

    P.O. Box 805887

    Chicago, IL 60680-4120

Am I missing something or do I need to do anything else? Thanks for your help.
