  1. Hey Guys,

Stupid question, but it's bothering me so I need to ask.  My fiancé went to the DHL office and retrieved her packet. However, the sticker on the Actual DHL packet says to not open it or it would no longer be valid; the DHL gentlemen at the front desk also told her to not open the package?  My problem is that in order for her to enter the US she is going to need her passport, and I am aware that there is the sealed packet that she presents to the official at the US airport when we arrive, but she can't board a plane from Mexico to the US without her passport in the first place. But she is insisting that they told her to not open the DHL package (I honestly think they were referring to the sealed packet within the actual DHL package itself but she's not listening to me). I was under the impression that she needs to open the DHL packet to check her passport and visa to make sure all the information is correct before she travels to the US; but to also not open the sealed brown packet for the CBP official that will interview her at POE. What do I do?

It is still showing "appointment", her appointment was on Jun 13th and her Visa was approved. I'm assuming it'll take them a few days to update it. But in the case that if they don't update it and send her package to the DHL center can she still pick it up with just using her valid ID?

I apologize, I was looking at the wrong page. It is showing "Issued", case was created on the 13th, last updated on the 14th.

What does your CEAC status say.

  4. Hey Guys,

My fiancé's K1 Visa was approved on June 13th. They told her that she would receive her Visa within 4-10 business days at the DHL location that she had selected .  On her green paper that they gave her at the consulate it says that if the DHL tracking number doesn't appear then I should "check back in several days" as it takes a few days for the consulate to update it.  I have read of people that were quoted a timeframe for DHL in which the Visas' didn't go through administrative processing, and their tracking numbers never showed up on the website so they just ended up going to the courier office with their passport number, green paper, and ID and their packages were already at the office. But the green paper says you MUST present the DHL tracking number. But if the tracking number doesn't ever show up on the website how the heck does she get her visa if the consulate doesn't end up putting the tracking number on the website?

  5. Hi Guys,

My fiance has her consular interview this Thursday in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.  I started a new job two months ago ( I meet the financial requirements to support my fiancé and so forth); however due to I am a new employee at this company I am not able to fly down to Juarez to be outside the consulate to wait for my fiancé after her interview unfortunately. Is this a problem?  I know that once we are married and we adjust her status that it is mandatory that I am at that interview. I just am not able to be in Juarez for her K1 interview due to my companies time off policies.

    Thank you for the help!

  6. Hey guys I have a few questions regarding the I-34.

    1. Is there a a specific time frame in which my work letter, bank statements, etc, have to be printed within for them to be valid at the embassy when my fiance takes those documents to the interview?

    2.  For my bank statements, one of the bank tellers printed me off an actual paper showing my deposits over the last 12 months. She also printed me off an account summary showing my present balance of my current accounts, and at the top of these pages it shows the date my accounts were opened.  But it's not an official letter that's written out nor signed by the bank teller, would those printed papers be sufficient evidence?  Or does it have to be a letter like in actual paragraph form with an official signature in black ink?

    Appreciate your help and insights!

  7. Hi Guys,

So I received my NOA2 for my Fiance living in Mexico on 11/14/2018.  We were told by a lawyer prior to starting the K-1 Visa that generally the entire process is 8-10 months from start to finish.  Having that in mind, we had planned a boda "wedding reception/party" for February 15th  2019,  which is right around the 10 month mark for us.  In my paperwork that I submitted, I had put in the paperwork that we plan on marrying in the US sometime in March IF the visa gets approved.  My fiances parents obviously will not have the financial means to make it to our wedding in the US if the visa gets approved, so we wanted to do a wedding party before marrying in the US just due to the fact that they won't be able to make it to our wedding in the states. We also thought to do the wedding party on this date because we figured if worst comes to worst and if the K-1 Visa gets denied, we can always file for a CR-1 and marry in Mexico around that same time frame IF it gets denied.  In our invitations, we have put in there that we are not marrying civilly in Mexico and that the actual wedding will be taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah. Our invited guests are her immediate family and close friends who are well aware that we are not doing any time of actual ring ceremony, nor are we marrying in any way down in Mexico, they know we are marrying in Utah in other words.  With this information in mind, would it be useful for my fiance to bring a copy of the wedding invite to the consulate to prove that it is strictly a celebration? What is the best route at this point? I have seen that some people have been okay doing this and some haven't. Thank you.
