  1. Oh boy 😮 thank you for your help 🙂

Well I guess I will be paying lots of money for my plane ticket then lol.

I remember I only waited three weeks for my biometric appointment when we filed for adjustment of status in 2018 but I see that the I751 has a different timeline...

Do you remember how many weeks they gave you to prepare to go to the biometric app from the moment you received the letter?

  2. Hi everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well and keeping safe.

I will be filing for removal of condition alone next year around April 2021. I know it is early to ask such a question but i need to book a plane ticket to go to my cousin wedding and I have to do it as soon as possiblesince tickets to my hometown are super expensive in the summer.

Has anyone file for removal of condition with the waiver? how long does it take to get the biometric appointment after filing? I do not want to miss my appointment due to be out of the country or risking to receive the letter for the appointment while i am abroad.

I will be filing from San Diego (CA) I believe.

    Thank in advance everyone

  3. it is kind of tricky as I am still paying for covered California so it is not the same thing as medi-cal which is free or almost free, 100% federally based and for individuals that have a very low income. I spoke to more then one attorney and they told me it will not affect my status in the future. Also I read that they will consider medicaid a public charge if used for over a year.

My friend is on a f1 visa and he is looking for a private insurance with good coverage and that is not too expensive.

Can anyone suggest me a private insurance he can pay month to month?

  4. Hello Luckycuds,

    Thank you for your answer.

I think it is better to do the process with an attorney because it is tricky. My friend tried to attempt to do it by herself and got denied twice until she had to appear in court. Thankfully she found a good attorney in the end that saved her case but she ended up spending much more money because things got more complicated.

i was thinking to start to apply here with one attorney and then give the case to another attorney once i move. i need to file for divorce asap but the court house is closed due to covid19. I hope everything will go smooth.

If anyone has been through the process i will appreciate any advice.

    Keep safe

  5. Hi everyone,

I have a question to ask. I am on a conditional green card and I will file for the removal by my self as I am about to file for divorce. Since I am going to move to another states I was wondering if I can start the process here in California and then transfer the case. Is it possible? And will it cause any delays? Also I will have to start the process with one attorney here and then move the case to another one because I need him/her to come with me to the interview.
I need to start the process from here because otherwise I will miss the dead line as I am going to move once my conditional green card will be expired already.
Has anyone been in this situation before? Pls advice and thanks in advance 🙂

  6. Hello BLM,

I spoke to an attorney and he told me covered california will not affect my conditional green card removal. Medi-cal is a bit different from Covered Ca because I believe is for people who do not have an income and I also believe is free for those people. Covered Ca is a health plan for which you still pay for it but it is discounted. If your husband is still working I think you can get a plan from covered ca through your husband so it will cover both of you.

I think you could be eligible but I do not if medi-cal will affect your future removal. As for covered ca i believe it will not affect you. But you could book a free consultation with a immigration attorney to get a clear answer. There is a website called avvo.com and you can find many lawyers in your area and book a free consultation with one.

    I hope this helped

    Best luck and be safe

  7. Hello everyone,

I hope someone can help me here because my attorney is not replying due to the circumstances and i need to make a decision.

Long story short; I work in the hospitality industry and we are temporary laid-off until further notice. Our employer told us we can continue with the coverage with one of the

plan of covered california. Does anyone knows if it will be consider as a public charge? I will be paying for it it's just discounted and it is not medi-cal (California medicaid).

Do you think that it will affect my I751 petition in the future to remove the condition of my residency?

Please if some green card holders has some info I would really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance everyone and be safe!

  8. Hi every one.

Me and my husband USC have filed for adjustment of status and are waiting for an interview. We have all the bank accounts together but I still have one bank account open where my parents send me 1000 $ a month. I then transfer this money  in our joint bank account and thus I was wondering if these might create some problems. My husband supports me those are just extra money for me.  My parent used to send me the money also before I met my husband since i was a F1 student.

Thanks in advance for your help
