Also just a note here, that person is going through a different Visa process. If I'm reading correctly, their police cert was rejected at NVC stage not at the interview stage where you submitted yours. @LLabout is that correct?
Yes, it got rejected at the NVC document submitting stage

Just wondering, when you submitted the Privacy Act version that was rejected, did you submit anything additional, like a police name and DOB only check? I'm wondering if maybe that's why some people have been okay with the privacy act version, rather than the visa/border version -- that is, maybe it's because they've also submitted name and DOB only police checks in addition, and that was what actually got them approved?
It's hard to for us to know since you can't exactly ask the interviewer right there when you're having your interview, which documents were the ones that were satisfactory? They'll only tell you if something is a problem, but not when it isn't, so..
I know that when i went to request the certificate, i gave my fingerprints, but the privacy act one doesn't display them. When I called the NVC they told me that it was rejected because it wasn't the correct one. That fingerprints needed to be displayed on the sheet and it must say its certified.

I'm applying for a IR-1 Visa.
The privacy act got rejected. Then I removed that document from the NVC site.
Uploaded the Visa border crossing as my main "police check" with fingerprints and picture, and I uploaded my privacy act under "other documents". That's when they both got accepted.
So I don't know if they needed both, or just the one Visa border crossing one, I'm just happy they accepted it.

That’s strange. When did you submit it? Surely you could have disputed it if they wouldn’t take the privacy act.
I did dispute it on the day it was rejected (Sept 17th), they sent it to a manager to review it and told me it could be 6 weeks until I hear from them. so i didn't want to take the chance, so i got the one with the fingerprints on it (visa border crossing), submitted it on the 27th, and it was approved on October 10th.

Hey Everyone! I finally got my police check under privacy act and it does not have my prints on the certificate. But the state department website says prints should be on it. Am i missing something?
Mine done under the Privacy Act got rejected. The Visa Border Crossing Certificate (with the fingerprints on the form) got approved. I submitted both to be safe and it worked.

I’ll send you the link in a moment but there are a bunch of us waiting for interviews with early August cc’s. I’m August 6th personally. It’s looking like 2-3 months is the current wait based on the fact that I personally am approaching the 2.5 month, the end of week 10 of waiting for my date. I’d say 4 weeks is almost impossible, 8 weeks a slight chance if they speed up drastically, but 10-12 is realistic. I’d be more optimistic if we didn’t have 3 holidays coming up. Otherwise, settle in for the 2-3 month wait to simply get a date.
Thank you for this. I'm thinking January at the earliest, so if it's before then it's a bonus. I can't believe how long this is taking for everyone.

Thank you for sharing! We have already submitted our privacy act one, but they haven't checked it yet. Now we are waiting for the visa one to come so we can upload it as well. How did you submit them? Did you submit them back to back or as an additional document? Congratulations. Let us know when you get your interview date!
I submitted my Privacy Act one first (as that was what they told us to get), on a Friday, they rejected it by the Monday. I went the following week and got the Visa Border Crossing one done, then once I received it, I removed the rejected document on the site and added the Visa border crossing one there with a note stating to see below as well, then down below under additional documents I added the Privacy act document with a note stating that this one was rejected but states privacy act as it's what they requested and these are the only documents I could attain from the RCMP. They reviewed it 2 weeks later, with the approvals of all documents. I hope this helps
Please feel free to ask any more questions you may have.

My cc was july 25, and received interview email on September 28, with interview date October 30 for Montreal
Thank you Maan17. Best of luck with your interview!!!

I just received my CC date (10.10.18). Trying to get an idea as to when we will be notified as to our interview dates.
-
I'm following along to get an estimate as to when I will be receiving an Interview date. (IR-1) My CC is today (10.10.18), and it's looking like anywhere from 4-8 weeks from today I should get my date, then approximately 4 weeks from that date until the actual interview (in Montreal, CA)? Does this sound correct?
Does anyone know of a CC date October feed/topic is? Or should I just create one (lol)

Yes that is your CC, congrats!
YES!!!! thank you!!!!!! I'm beyond excited to sit and wait now! I have resigned myself to the fact that this is a very slow process, but I can at least know that i'm awaiting a letter with my interview date, then a medical exam, then interview!!! YAY!

THEY ACCEPTED MY POLICE CERTIFICATE!!!! They rejected my PRIVACY ACT on September 16th (submitted it on 09.14.18), I got the VISA/BORDER CROSSING completed the week after and submitted it along with the rejected PRIVACY ACT certificate on 09.27.18, they accepted all my VISA/BORDER CROSSING documents TODAY (10.10.18). So i'm' assuming that even though they ask for the Privacy Act document, that the Visa Border Crossing is in fact the one to get. If I had my time back I would have gotten both done at the same time and it would have saved me 4 full weeks.
I received an email from them stating that the NVC has received all the fees, forms and documents. They will work with the Consulate in Montreal to schedule an interview and send that notice to me. Does this mean that today is my CC date?

Have you heard anything back yet?
No I haven't heard a thing. i'm still impatiently waiting for them to accept my certificates. I talked to NVC and they stated that it can take 3-6 weeks for them to get back to your case once you've resubmitted documents. this waiting is unbearable. every time i call they tell me to wait. every day i waiting feels like a week.

Hey everyone.
I am immigrating from Canada (Ontario) to the US, I believe i have an IR1? anyway, the police check has stressed me out beyond belief.
On September i went to get my Police certificate and the police services told me to use a 3rd party service (so i googled canadianfingerprints.com). they were great and accommodated me well. I went in there with the information from the website stating to get the PRIVACY ACT document and have my fingerprints taken, and to NOT get the Visa/border crossing etc document. This was on a monday, (sept 10) and i received it in the mail on the friday (sept 14). (this cost me $75). I submitted it online on the 15th to get rejected on the 17th stating that it's not the correct form. I followed ALL THE STEPS and it was rejected. I then called NVC and they stated that i need to get the privacy act WITH fingerprints displayed on the certificate and that it needs to be certified. I called the canadian fingerprint people and they are stuck in the middle as they don't know which one we need either as the Privacy Act is non certified, but the Visa/Border Crossing is certified and displays your picture and fingerprints, yet the NVC states to get the privacy act version.
I then called back again on the friday and they escalated it to a manager. This i come to find out can take up to 6 WEEKS for them to look into it. I went to the Canadian Fingerprint place AGAIN on the 19th to pay an additional $75 to get the Visa/Border Crossing check completed, which i receive in the mail today (sept 27th). I just submitted it along with the original privacy act so here's hoping they accept them this time. I personally think it's ridiculous to have to spend $150 for 2 different certificates and a difference of 2 full weeks of a delay because the left hand doesn't have a clue what the right hand is doing.
So, if you are wondering which one to get, as of right now i would say get BOTH completed at the same time to save yourself a headache until this is fixed. (unless it's fixed and i'm completely unaware), Good luck all.
