  1. I am still around, although I also need to catch up on all the things I did not do while I was spending so much time here. :bonk:

I leave for Colombia tomorrow for a Christmas visit. If all goes well, my next trip will be for the interview. :)

Here is an approval that might make some people happy and upset some others. Don't blame the messenger.

Semih & El. Sent 8-14. NOA1 8-24. Approved 12-17. No mention of an expedite.

  2. Bill,

I also wanted to add, and please correct me if I am wrong here, because you have been active here a lot longer than I have, but by my count there are only 4 K1 petitions still outstanding for April, and 13 K1 petitions outstanding for May.

Knowing that OsLoraTamm is still active here, I assume that the 13 petitions are still active and awaiting adjudication, at least hers is. But, my belief is that the 4 outstanding for April are probably abandoned, or people forgot to update if they are still active here. I cant recall any April filers speaking out in this thread in the recent past (because if I waited that long I would be POSTAL). But I havent been here for as long as you. What is your feeling on this?

And to any April filers: Please dont take offense that I dont know or remember you. If you are still here and the data is correct, just let me know!

I agree. You would be going postal.

Of the 4 open April petitions, 1 is definitely still active (Mel & Syl), 1 is definitely dead since they have not been on the site since 11-14 (John & Sheila), 1 is impossible to tell since they do not have any timeline or profile that I can find (Celia & John - How does that happen?), and 1 is a maybe (Tu & Chris / madmcc22555) no RFE's on timeline and no recent posts but last on the site 12-7.

In every month there seems to be one or two that take forever to be completed. And surprisingly there are also a significant number of members who never find their way to this VSC forum. So lack of participation here does not necesarily mean that an old petition has been abandoned.

In any case, there are active participants in this forum that filed in April or May and are still waiting so obviously those months are still "open".

  3. I want to thank everyone for your warm congratulations. It is greatly appreciated. :)

If anyone is curious about how our approval transpired, we received our first touch at 4:00 yesterday afternoon and the approval was registered on the website around 9:00 last night. I received the CRIS email regarding the approval a few minutes after it was posted on the website. It was nice to see at least one thing working at USCIS the way it is supposed to.

As to how we feel, Bella said "Que?!" (What?!) followed by about 5 minutes of celebration. I'm not really sure what she said to tell the truth. She was taking care of her sick sister so she was sort of whispering, crying and shouting at the same time. I gathered she was happy. ;) As for me, I keep getting emotional. For the first time this whole process is beginning to seem real. It is very hard to believe that Bella and the kids might be here by February.

I also feel very badly for all those who are still waiting from April, May and June. That is the one thing that diminshes my happiness today. I wish there was some way for me to help you get your approvals sooner. I did have one thought. I have noticed that no one ever asks to speak to a supervisor when they call customer service and get the run around or obviously bad information. I wonder what would happen if the petitioner politely but firmly demanded to speak to a supervisor, the supervisor's supervisor, etc. until they got some real answers. I have the sense that the first level of customer service whether they be pleasant or nasty is no help whatsoever. I would also suggest beginning each conversation by politely requesting the customer service rep's full name and ID# if they have one. That will put them on notice that there might be repercussions if they are not helpful.

I see one new June approval that I do not think has been reported. Nadia & Jason. Sent 6-10. NOA1 6-14. Approved 12-13. No RFE's shown on the timeline.

That makes 41 for the month and 12 for the week.

  4. Congratulations for all the recent approvals. With all the touching go on I bet there will be many more approvals coming soon.

I also want to thank everyone for your congratulations to me and Bella. It is greatly appreciated.

  5. hi Everyone,

I made it over to this area. Just a not to let you know I got an email notice saying the petition was approved on Dec 10th, so just waiting for the hard copy in the mail!!! whooohooo!!! They had gotten it July 24th.

    Congratulations Christine. :)

Here is what you must do next.

Step 1. Create a VJ timeline and fill in the appropriate dates. You can do that here by looking for Timeline Functions, then Edit / Add My Entry.

Step 2. Read the VJ guides. Go to this page then look at the bottom for instructions as to what to do after the I-129F is approved.

Step 3. Look for a fourm dedicated to the New Zealand Embassy. If you can't find one, search for New Zealand at the top of almost any VJ page and read everything you can find.

    Good luck!

  6. Only 2 approvals this week? I hate this.

Actually there have been 5 so far this week and 33 for the month. We always want more but it compares favorably to what we were seeing a few months ago. In September for instance there were 9 approvals for the entire month. Now that was something to hate.

This week is slower than the past few weeks but hopefully things will pick up again soon.

  7. Awesome!! Congrats to them!!!! So Melinda got her approval around a week after she sent her RFE??? Then Byron, I think 20 days and Diana and Alan 14 days........So ####### are they doing with Mel and Syl case????? Come on!!!!! Give them their approval!!!!!!!!  Give us more and more and more approvals!!!!! :D :D:

Remember there is no hard and fast rule regarding how long it takes to adjudicate a petition after the RFE is returned. The adjudicator picks up where he/she left off. If there are no new complications the approval comes soon after the RFE is returned. On the other hand, if a new complication pops up (such as a bad guy name match for example) it could take quite a while to resolve, just like it would if there were no RFE.

Thus there is no accurate answer to the frequent inquiry regarding how long it takes to be approved after an RFE is returned.

  8. Here is the latest approval. Thank goodness. If I don't see frequent approvals I begin to panic and have flashbacks to the time when we only saw 1 or 2 approvals per week.

    Diana & Alan. Sent 6-20. NOA1 7-10. RFE returned 11-28. Approved today. 12-12.

That clears out some more June dead wood and also should give some hope to those with RFE's. Diana & Alan post here sometimes so maybe they can provide some specifics regarding their RFE.

  9. I FINALLY got through to the NVC!

...And there were no live operators available at the time I called (about three minutes ago). Bloody figures!! Gahh. *headdesk*

Call DOS. 202-663-1225. When they answer press option 1, then at the next prompt press option 0 . They have the same information as NVC and they are usually easier to reach. Several people have also said that they are more helpful than NVC.

  10. Well everyone.. I have loved reading and waiting with you all and will keep checking in.. but tonight i just recieved the best news ever! I recieved this E-Mail ---

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

    AWESOME!@!!@#

    Now what???

    Congratulations. :)

  12. Hey guys,

No news on our case either, it shows a touch on Sat but that's about it. We have to keep waiting I guess. Has anyone else gotten any approvals today from CSC????

    Rob,

No CSC approvals dated today yet, but they normally update their database very late. I think it is around 11 PM east coast US time.

There were 5 CSC approvals with Friday's date (12-7) and 24 for last week.

  13. I am so excited! Today I called the DOS and they have our interview scheduled!

    January 18th, 7:00am.

The next question I have is should I have Sandy call Dr. Gonzalaz now and schedule her medical for 2 days prior, now? Or do we need to wait until she receives her letter ?

I think you can make the appointment for the medical as soon as you have the appointment. You do not need to wait for the letter. You can also make the appointment more than 2 days prior to the interview if it is convenient for you.

  14. I don't know they woman was very vague. Just said that the file was in administrative process and that no timescale could be given. I asked her what for and she said security checks and clearances. I asked if she could give me any guideline of timescale at all and she said well if all goes through smoothly with no glitches could be through in a week or 2 but if there are any glitches could take months.

Think I'm just going to call every couple of days.

Sorry to hear this. I wonder if they select petitions on a random basis to review.

You might want to call DOS and see what they have to say. 202-663-1225 x1, x0. They have access to the information at NVC.

    BILL Y BELLA..............................I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

called DOS......they said the woman didn't know what she was saying...it's getting transferred to london today.....the guy "james" told me the only administrative process it went through was looking at passport images and then passed to mailroom. I'm breathing better and the tears of sadness now tears of joy.

    :)
