Hello, guys! 

One question! This Thursday I have my oath ceremony in Brooklyn! Anyone went recently, how long does it take? Mine is scheduled for 8:30am.

Hi, all! After a crazy morning, when I had the appointment to put my signature on the application at 8:30 and I only woke up at 9 (had a really bad insomnia, fell asleep at 4am), I made it at the uscis office at 10 and everything went well, my officer was super nice and I'm waiting in the waiting area for my oath ceremony invitation letter, which is going to be on the 30th of January, at 8:30. 

Good luck for the rest of us.

Bring anything you have, just in case. They may ask or they may not.

At least I know that they are not ignoring me.

I called level 2 Immigration Officer today , she was completely honest with me, she said she understand how bunch of IO keep saying 2 or 3 weeks some people will receive ceremony letter after interview, but legally they have 120 days to decide with our application s after interview they don't have to schedule oath by the way after interview. If they have other case to do follow up. And she said right now , she saw attended my interview and and recommended for approval on their system. But they don't put my case in line yet  for  oath ceremony. She said wait after Dec 20th I can call them back to check for me ..And there is no issue with my case , everything looks good. SMH

I just got another interview notice for January 8th, because there is a missing signature from my application and I have to go to put the signature, so my application is complete. 😂

Yes, and when I told him that my officer said that in max 2 weeks I'll get the invitation to the oath ceremony, he played deaf, like he didn't even hear me.

They just said the usual thing, that it takes a while for a oath ceremony to be scheduled and that if it wasn't scheduled yet, it means that I have to wait. HUGE BS. As if I didn't know that yet. He was not in the mood to tell me anything more than that and I just hung up. Maybe you have better luck! Give it a try!

I am planning on calling them today. Its exactly 4 weeks since my interview. Maybe there is a problem that has to be addressed and I'll just make their life easier by calling them and ask them what's the issue.

It's very annoying, because they don't have a reason to delay, but they still do. 

I would prefer not to be told that I should expect an oath invitation and then doubting myself that something might went wrong, when the letter is not in my mailbox a month later.

Try calling the field office and asking to speak with a Tier 2 officer. It sounds like something isn't right given that the officer told you your case was approved but your online account still doesn't reflect that. 

I'm going to wait for 4 full weeks and then I'll call. 

I also changed my address with the officer and on my uscis account the address changed, too, but nothing else beside that changed, not even that I attended the interview.

Passport size photos for the citizenship certificate, even though I sent 2 photos with the application. 

The status is: "We scheduled your interview"

I waited for 9 months, pretty quick. But I am stuck now, nothing is changing, and it concerns me. 

The thing is that the officer asked me for 2 passport size photos and I didn't have them with me, so after interview I went to take the photos and then came back and left them at the clerk window, to be afterwards given to my officer. I have a feeling that they may have misplaced my photos and this is why nothing is happening.

Hi, all!

I had my citizenship interview on 13th of November and it's been 3 weeks since then without a change in status, even though the officer said that I passed and I should receive an invitation to the oath ceremony in a week or two. 

Don't know what to do, do I keep waiting for a little bit longer or I start calling and ask why is the process delayed?

From what I know, is that you are not considered divorced, until you sign the divorce papers and they are sent to the whatever department is working with divorce cases. 

I think your friend would be fine. He just needs to answer honestly and everything will be good. 

Does anybody know how long it takes to be scheduled for oath ceremony after approval in NYC with a name change. Is it true that for those that require name change it's a different oath ceremony and there are only few over the year and the wait time is longer. 

Any information will be appreciated.

Just got in touch with my congressmans office for an update... VSC told them that my case is sitting in the Jacksonville field office... So it either just got there in the last couple weeks (9/19 Jacksonville responded to my case inquiry and said the case was in another location), or they just sent a canned response. Lol. Hopefully that means there will be an interview scheduled soon... Congressman's office is waiting on a more detailed update on the next steps. 

This is quite of a situation. They made it so complicated. I hope that there will be light with the help of the congressman's office. 

I think that emigrants are the most patient people in the world.

I missed my sister's wedding from the reason that I hadn't had my papers ready, so I understand how important that must be for you! Congratulations!

I do travel two weeks of travel in November and I am hoping I don’t get anything around that timeframe. 

I don't want you to feel worried, but there is a possibility to have your interview scheduled some time in November, just hopefully not on the dates you are traveling. 

When I know the date, I'll post it, so you have a better time understanding about uscis NYC offices
