Our cases are not showing up online yet either----only the page where it says the case has been receiving and is pending---when I log in the case portfolio only contains our fiance petition

I think it´s showing online to you but it only doesn´t appear under your portfolio. You should add it there manually

I'm not quite following you---maybe you could give me a step by step instruction. You are at the same USCIS site that we always logged in to for our fiance petition right?

We received notification today that Griff's AOS was transferred to CSC as of April 17th!! Wooooooooohooooooo!!!!

Was this email or snail mail notification? Our AOS and EAD haven't even showed up online yet!

Hey does anyone here know what you have to do so your fiancee can work when she gets to the USA? What does she have to do to be able to work? I know the fiancee visa is work authorized, and she is flying through jfk and getting the stamp! So my question is what does she have to do when she gets her to work, and how long does this normally take?

a holder of a K-1 visa is eligible for work regardless of a Employment Authorization stamp on his K-1 visa in the passport, or an Employment Authorization card.

Here is a relevant page from the Social Security Administration Manual. Please refer to Section C, Paragraph 1 that states that

a holder of a K-1 visa is "authorized to work in the U.S. without specific authorization from DHS. The person’s I-94 will not have the DHS employment authorization stamp and the alien will generally not have an EAD. "

Well, we got our approval last night. She was in and out in about 2 hours 40 minutes. She said everyone was pretty friendly, and she said that there were two women consuls who were conducting the interviews. She said the woman consul who did her interview smiled all the time when looking over our documents and that it made her (my fiancee) nervous. We spoke only briefly after the interview, so I will post more details later today once I have had a chance to talk with her some more.

YEA!!!! I looked several times today and at 5pm before I left work and ...nothing. Thought I'd check one last time before bed and there they were!! I can see my AP & EAD cases online...ya-hoooo!!! Happy dance time!!

My fiancee had her interview today and it was approved! In light of what happened to KGSodie, we are waiting until we actually have the Visa in hand before we can celebrate though. One more week of nail biting...

She told me all of the questions were about us, our relationship, how we met, etc... She was armed with all of the answers to the stupid trivial questions but, she didn't need it. She could easily answer all the questions about our relationship!

Greetings! I just wanted to send an update and let you all know that Elias called DHL to see if they had received anything back from the embassy. DHL advised him that a package had arrived today. He went to pick it up and inside was the APPROVED VISA and the sealed packet he will carry to his POE.

We will be buying the ticket today (probably for April 3 or 4) and finally we will be past this part of our journey.

A million thanks to all who have encouraged us along the way. And many prayers for those still waiting. We'll still be here..... BRING ON AOS......well ok wait on AOS....bring on the MARRIAGE!!!!

Today's the day!

I'm leaving in 30 minutes for the airport. Will finally get to welcome my sweet Sasha to our new home. I'm so very excited.... I'll meet her in NY and we'll fly to Richmond together. We've been waiting for this day since she returned to Russia in 2006. I remember how broken hearted we that day. Our visa journey had not yet begun and the uncertainty for the future was unbearable. But after a year and a half she will return to our cozy little city. This is like a dream come true that I'm sure everyone here will experience soon, if they haven't already. Thanks again, to everyone of you for making this community what it is. ....

I better go now. Can't sit still.

I just received a phone call from a very happy Natalia, exiting the Moscow Consulate, saying that the visa was approved for her and her 17-year-old son Artem. The interview took approximately 5 minutes and consisted of 3 questions. For those that are interested, here are the questions:

Q1. How did you meet? [Answer: Natalia explained how we met.]

Q2. You have a very high position here in Russia. (Natalia is the head of the legal department for a large company). It is unlikely that your work in the USA will be at such a high level. How do you feel about that and what do you plan to do for work after you arrive in America? [Answer: Natalia honestly replied that are already people wishing to interview her in the USA after she arrives given her expertise in Russian trade and tax law. Finding decent work in the USA should not present a problem for her once she is legally authorized to work here.]

Q3. Did your fiancee visit you in Russia? [Answer: I visited her in August which satisfied them.]

That was it......... 5 minutes and out. There were no questions directed to her 17-year-old son. They merely took his fingerprints.

All-in-all it was a little anti-climactic after all the waiting and worry.......... but it sure is good to have that behind us now. I am sure that the euphoria will sink in after a day or 2.

A special "thank you" to all those that have been supporting us these many many months. It was certainly a roller-coaster ride sometimes as we were probably in the bottom 10% in terms of waiting time. Hahahaha.......... Kazan Tiger (Jeffrey & Alla) intentionally postponed their interview a couple of months and they still almost beat us. Oh well..... what's a few extra months of waiting in the big scheme of things when you are talking about a life-time commitment? We are just happy that it is drawing to a close.

What services are people here using and which ones have good quality? I am looking for something inexpensive, but at the same time I am trying to find a service that has pretty good voice quality. It can be calling cards or an internet service, but I would prefer something that I can use over the phone. I call her at work due to the time difference and the web filter interferes with Skype and other services. So, any practical advise will be great and I am not looking for the cheapest one, but something that will give me good quality at a reasonable rate. Thanks!

I've been waiting up all night for the news, and it's in: Ira's visa is approved. There's some other strange news to go along with it, but I'll wait until the visa is in hand before posting comments on a public forum.

Anyway, I wanted you guys to be the first to know that, theoretically, Step One should finally be done in about two weeks when Ira's visa arrives in the mail.

Ramzis' flight to Detroit was on time on Friday, POE was a breeze, just a few minutes and we were home by 5 p.m. We were married on Saturday at 5 p.m. It was short, sweet and lovely at our church with our children. We had a beautiful family dinner at an English Inn nearby immediately following. It has been a lovely reunion for us. WE ARE IN TOTAL SHOCK. We can't believe we'll be together forever. We spent all day yesterday filing the marriage license, changing his designation on his SS card and getting him on the health insurance. LIFE IS GOOD----PATIENCE IS TRULY A GIFT FROM GOD. Ramzis got his visa, packet, etc., at the DHL office in Moscow this morning, he will be on a flight tomorrow morning and be in Michigan tomorrow afternoon!!!! The patient one is absolutely jumping out of her skin today!!!! We will be married on Saturday, March 15, 2007. Is this really happening? Wowwowowowowowowowowow: VJ RULES!!! Or more properly, DHL has them and we'll leave to pick them up shortly. We had to change apartments today and our wifi doesn't work at the new apartment, so we didn't get to check the DHL website until we found this hotspot, in of all places a food court in a mall. I'll likely not get to make too many more updates, since we don't have internet at the new apartment, but we're all flying high now! It's difficult to believe, but Grumpy the guard was actually correct!

Thanks to all the good thoughts and prayers everyone has been sending our way, they sure worked!
