  1. CONGRATULATIONS. I am mailing our I-129F tomorrow (NSC). My beloved was in the U.S. for 6 glorioius weeks and he just returned to Ufa, RU on May 20. We are both heartsick. We know that finally filing the papers will give us the exciting anticipation of our marriage early in 2008!!!!
  2. I was reading some fiance k-1 guidelines at http://travel.state.gove/visa/immigrants/types/types. Several of the documents that are sent to the beneficiary from the embassy (i.e., the DS-230) has a section which asks for a police certificate and list of all places the beneficiary has lived since age 16. What is a police certificate in this case? (My fiance's interview will be at the Moscow embassy). I hope someone can clarify this for me, thanks

  3. My fiance and I will be May filers by the end of this week!!!! I have worked tirelessly to put together a nice, neat, small 3-ring binder. I put dividers between the different cover letter topics, i.e., I-129F application, G-325's, supplement to question 18, original letters of intent to marry etc., etc.) I have put all my originals (that will go with my fiance, i.e., proof of ongoing relationship stuff) in vinyl page protectors.

  4. My fiance is coming for 6 weeks, arriving on April 6. I have all the paperwork together for our I129F application. We plan on getting the G325 photos and all the final signatures and documents together while he is here and file them in April or the 1st part of May. He is not leaving the U.S. until May 20. Do you think it will be a problem for him for his departure if we go ahead and submit and receive, for example our NOA1 while he's still here? Thanks, all.

  5. Hi,

I think it depends. I, too, read about it. But went to see my fiance after he had filed the petition. I had no trouble what so ever entering. My POE was Chicago O'Hare. The guy simply asked me a few questions, was very nice about it. Among other quetions he asked me if we were gonna get married on this trip....which the answer was no :) I was honest about everything. No trouble.

However, I DO suggest taking with you some documentation showing that you will definitely have to go back: statement from your employer expecting you back at work at a certain date, real estate..stuff like that. Honestly, I had nothing else but a letter from my employer...and I didn't even have to use it :)

    Good luck!

    Thanks---this helps a lot.

  6. I read from someone that it is inadvisable for the foreign fiance to visit the U.S. after the I-129F is filed. It was stated that the port of entry security are a lot more suspicious of the fiance not returning to his/her country. Is this true? Wouldn't proof of return airline tickets be convincing? Or do you all think it is better for the U.S. citizen to make the visits out of the U.S. after the I-129F is filed? Or shouldn't I worry about this?

  7. I am so glad to have found this website. My Russian boyfriend and I just became engaged. I am just gathering the I-129F materials and hope to file this in the next 30 days. I will be reading all the site information daily and appreciate any encouragement and all the information. My fiance' is from Ufa--the American Embassy where he has gotten his visitor visas is in Yeketerinburg. I read on that site that all K-1's are done only at the Embassy in Moscow. Hope this bit of info. helps someone
