My wife got her card in the mail last Saturday, we leave for cancun today.

Yeah, I guess I have different point of view: card is nothing, but a piece of plastic that proves your status, which can be thrown away, lost, stolen and replaced. Being stolen or lost in no way affects your STATUS, which is the most important thing. When I get my approval letter in hand, I really won't care about getting the card itself: I mean I guess I will need it to prove status for employment or travel, but other than that...meh.

We could all get chip implant and then no one will have to carry a card of any kind.

the same about the online status, i got approved Dec 14 & so far no change in the online status & no card

Is that normal guys for not updating the online status for more than 2 weeks???

We have gotten 2 emails since receiving the approval letter. We are just waiting for the card in the mail.

My wife got her approval letter in the mail today. The approval was dated 12/14/2009

We started about the same time too and my wife should have her 10 year green card this month.

Let me ask why you didn't get married and then you would be getting your IR1 now instead of just a K1?

This is not the website use for support if you need to file a waiver. www.immigrate2us.net will be much more supportive. You need to make sure you have the waiver letter completed before you go. Your mind will be much clearer before rather than after. go to the other site and read all the example letters and make sure you are very clear and prepared for what you need to do.

so according to this the very best thing is to file the 751 no matter how late you are and it will stop any final removal proceedings and be sent to a field office for an interview. This seems much better than starting everything from the beginning again.

Read through all the ROC threads and you will probably find where people have filed late and gotten approved.

I would file the I-751 ASAP and plead stupidity and anything else you can think of but just file it. If you can waist money on a lawyer then it is worth the $545 to file.

It looks like CSC has approved almost all of the August filers, I wish VSC would get to August filers. It will probably be Chistmas by the time they get to us.

VSC is just now approving May 2009 from what is saw in the VSC filers post.

I was looking at the earlier months and CSC is already approving June and some July people but VSC is only up to April.

I am a September filer. Can someone tell me how soon you were notified of your biometrics appointment? My boss wants to know when I can travel and I do not want to miss the biometrics appointment.

Once you receive your NOA you get a year extension on your greencard. If you are worried about missing your biometrics then try a walk in after you get your NOA.

I am a newbie and i just registered a few minutes ago with visa journey. I sent out my I-751 this afternoon 8/24/09. My green card will expire on October 24. As I was surfing the net I then realize that I totally forgot to check out this site. I've been scanning and reading some postings regarding the said application. Now I'm worried because I did not send enough evidence as what other members did. I only did what they ask in the Instructions. This is the only evidence my husband and I prepared:

1. Birth Certificate of our 13 month old son

2. Joint federal and state tax return of 2008

3. Joint checking accounts and joint time deposits or cd's

4. My hubby's life insurance with my name as the primary benificiary

5. Two letters from our friends.

We have a house and it's under my hubby's name coz he bought the house before we got married. My husband tried to call the lender and they said they can't put my name on it.

I am so paranoid now and worried with the outcome of application. I just hope we will not encounter any problems.

Plus i just realized last night that we are going out of the country to visit the Philippines on January 12, 2009 till February 7, 2009. I hope I'll be able to leave and come back to the country with no problems even if my green card has expired.

I really am so worried now that I don't know what to do.

I feel the same way. I wouldn't have any idea what I'm doing if it weren't for VJ. Today I looked back through all of the Juarez forums trying to figure out how long it really takes them to process the 129 f at CDJ. What Tom said really put me at ease. It is nice to have someone go through it right before we are going to go. I sometimes get worried that our visa will be stuck at Juarez for months too because if you go to the timelines and set a search just for Mexico it looks like CDJ takes at the very least 49 days (and most were a lot longer) between arrival and visa-in-hand. But if you look at what Tom and others have said in this forum it is a lot shorter.

I hope and hope Roberto will be here by October.

I am still torn about whether I (USC) should go to Juarez or not. Does anyone here have an opinion about that?

I have an opinion regarding whether to attend the visa medical exam and interview. You may not attend in person with your SO but you can stay back and give moral support to your SO. I read in another forum that the SO was at the interview and was made to feel like she was lying, etc. Her Fiance went to the consulate and cleared it all up by answering questions and providing more evidence to support their REAL relationship. I couldn't sit at home thinking that

my fiancee and kids were at their interview and they needed something and I wasn't here to support them. So, I

recommend you being with your SO to support them and make sure they have everything they need from you first

hand. In case you don't know what SO is. It means Significant Other. Sorry for acronyms. hehehehe All the very

Don't forget that as far as I know. Nobody here is an immigration attorney and this is all he/she does. most of us are all in the same boat, passing on experiences to the next couple so they can succeed at this process.
