  1. Has anyone noticed that the timeline does not include a date for receiving the DS-3032 or the Affidavit of Support application from NVC? It also doesn't have anything on the I-864 either? Maybe this is not significant but they are items sent from NVC and to NVC?

The step by step K3 process here does not include the DS-3032 or the Affidavit of Support application from NVC? It also doesn't have anything on the I-864 either? Is anyone else here that has gone throught the NVC process with these steps before anything is sent to the Embassy?

  2. I recieved my NOA2 for my I-130 in March and my NOA2 on my I-129 April 19th. On April 15th the NVC sent me the Affidavit of Support fee and a copy of the DS-3032 Choice of Agent form that was also sent to my wife in Juarez on the same date. I sent the fee in and my wife sent the DS-3032 form in. I called the automated system at the NVC and used the case number to access the status today. They say the received the DS-3032 but that is all. My question is does the NVC assign only one case number or is it different for the I-130 and the I-129 or are they tied to the same case number?

  4. I noticed nobody mentions recieving their Affidavit of support fee or the choice of agent form DS-3032 that you should receive from NVC once the receive the approved case. I received a letter from NVC with these forms and my spouse also received the DS-3032 at her home in Juarez, MX. I sent the Affidat of support and the Fee to NVC in St Louis and my wife sent me the DS-3032 choice of agent form and I sent it overnight to NVC in NH.

The question I have is did the NVC send the the approval to the consulate right away or do they wait until they have the I-864?

  5. It is illegal to cross the border on a travel visa if your intent is for anything other than travel and return. If you are tell them that you are married and you are planning on staying while your papers are processed they can take your travel permission I-94 and if they like they can take your visa and even deport you. It all depends on the officer at the point of entry but ask yourself is it worth the risk?

  6. Gaby&Talbert,

Well, you've missed your first opportunity. If you and your wife want her to be known by your surname you should have submitted the I-130 petition using your surname.

Your next opportunity will be with your next submission, whatever that will be. Presumable an I-129f petition since you are posting in the K3 forum?

Does anyone have advice on changing my wife's last name to her married name? When I submitted the I-130 form we made sure we filled out everything to match all her documents. We want to use her new last name but we don't want to make any mistakes with any forms.

I will put on the cover letter with the I-129 that we want to change her name to my last name and hopefully get is changed during the processes.

  7. Gaby&Talbert,

So why are you asking this question in this forum?

    t,

You might want to read the new instructions for the latest version of the I-130 petition to see what might be behind the question. (Although, Gaby&Talbert has already submitted the I-130 petition so I wonder why they're asking this question now.)

How do you acquire proof of a bona fide marriage before you get a K3 Visa? .....

For the K-3 a marriage certificate. All the other items you are mentioning will be needed for your I-485.

THe I-130 I sent did not request this information. I used the latest one from the USCIS website in December.

Only because I am appying for a K3 visa and I assume this is the correct forum. I read some posts that this was required and on the Juarez Consulate website and it said for marriage it was needed. I read some posts from interviews in Juarez and they said they did not ask for this information but I want to make sure for the interview that I have anything they might ask for. I am just trying to be prepared.

  9. How do you acquire proof of a bona fide marriage before you get a K3 Visa? How can I add my wife on my bank accounts if she does not have her visa yet or a social security number? I own my own home and all my utilities are in my name also, should I have her added to all my utility accounts and anything else I can before she arrives here or is that even possible?
