We may have had the same officer. He was nice but not making much jokes or small talk.

I just checked my case status and my I-485 says "new card is being produced". But, interestingly, my I-130 says "Interview Was Completed And My Case Must Be Reviewed". I'm going to assume that the application was approved!

Congrats! I think both of us are safe now :)

Yup! He went to the business right away.

No small talk or jokes but very professional and nice!

We had our interview today. We got there about 30 minutes before the interview and were called in about 20 minutes after we got there. The entire interview lasted about 15 minutes. I did not get approval on the spot and he handed the standard notice saying "case is under review". The IO said everything looks fine and I should get the green card in about 1-2 weeks. He also mentioned that if he needs any further documentation, he will send a request in the mail.

The IO asked the standard set of questions. He went through the details on the I-130 with my husband and then the I-485 with me, including the standard yes / no questions. He asked us how we met, when we started dating, each others birth dates, where we both live (and who lives with us), what we did for our wedding and who proposed. He also asked me for an updated I-94 for my most recent entry into the US (we travelled internationally after the I-485 was filed) and ask for details of when I first came to the US and under what status I've entered the US previously.

He did not ask for any additional evidence but specifically only wanted the joint tax returns for 2018 and a house title / deed showing that our house was in both our names. I had a full folder with new evidence and photos - when I offered the folder to him, he said he did not want it.

Now the anxious wait starts to when I get the actual card.

I think we might have had the same officer today.

I also had an interview today. Got exactly same questions like yours.

He didn't need I-94 since last time I entered the US was with K-1 visa.

The officer did not need anything from us. Not even tax return, no photos of us.

He said he already has everything he needs.

I did not get any instant approval but he gave me a paper saying the case is under review.

I just checked the status tonight.

and it says "new card is being produced"

Check your status to see any changes!

You said you did it online. Then they send you a e-mail right after with the info in it. (I also received a letter saying they had it confirmed)

You don't have to keep calling as you say. Just call onetime after the 30 days to make sure they got your new address on file

I also received address change request confirmation e-mail from them. Today they sent another e-mail saying they have updated my address and I called uscis customer service just to make sure it went well and they said it has not been updated so i was confused lol. Sure. I will call them after 30 days to make sure it has been updated. Thank you for the reply!

  4. How do I know if uscis updated new address correctly?

I heard so many scary rumors that mails get lost or never got mails and stuff after updating the new address.

I changed the address online 10 days ago and called the customer service today and the person i talked to said that it takes about 30 days for them to change the address.

I am waiting for AOS green card interview notice and super worried that i might miss the notice or the mail gets sent to the old address.

Does Uscis send the confirmation mail saying that they have updated the address? Or should I keep calling the customer service till they say it has been updated?

Just an FYI my wife's friend had her AOS interview and got absolutely GRILLED. Immediate stokes interview - each of them were questioned separately for half an hour. They were asked questions about s**t like how they arranged clothes in their closet, female family members' maiden names, and so on. Two weeks later, still no decision.

Did they do fiance visa before? Give us more info about their timeline or visa situation before they decided to do AOS. That's super scary...

  6. Hi all,

I'm just wondering if there are any people who went through the interview without wearing or having any wedding band(rings) had bad experience or got questions about why you don't have any rings.

I do wear engagement ring but me and my husband decided not to buy wedding rings as we  do not think they were necessary.

Do you think that not having wedding rings would possibly affect green card interview in a bad way?

  7. I'm really confused about my case here.

My EAD case was finally approved on April 5th and got approval notice by mail on April 9th.

I waited and waited till the status changed to New Card is being produced but it never did until I called USCIS customer service on April 23rd.

On April 23rd my EAD status finally changed to New card is being produced and the status stayed for 2 days.

2 days later my EAD status went back to "Case was approved" from "New Card is being produced".

Is there anybody who has had the same experience like my case?

    I'm really confused here...

My ead approval date started from April 4th and I just lost one month of possible working period because my case has been stuck in USCIS and they don't even tell me or notice me anything since then.

I know that cases are all different and nobody has answer for this but I just don't know what to do next...

How do you know you won't need even longer? As a rule of thumb of thumb I'd say up to 6 months is safe. Maybe someone with exact knowledge can chime in. Generally I wouldn't recommend flying with a condition because the pressure in the air plane can mess your body up. I hope you get better.

It's a simple procedure that needs to be done, not even a surgery. When I had a symptom here in the States, i had to rush to the emergency room and ended up spending 2,000 dollars...I just can not let it happen again. Thank you for the reply!

Weird then. The number will never change of course as you only get one number per lifetime but quite possibly SSA issued you the incorrect (name) card so USCIS had the corrected one sent to you. Keeping in mind that USCIS will have your correct info over everyone and that's where SSA gets your info from not from the SSN application form you submitted.

Hey. My case status changed back to Case was approved from New card is being produced. I'm super confused right now. Have you heard about cases like mine?

  10. Hi all

I'm wondering if I could stay outside the US for 2 months with combo card.

I really want to wait till I get conditional green card but the interview won't happen till the end of year.

I currently got approval notice for advance parole and am waiting for combo card to get mailed.

I have medical issue that I really want to get treated in my home country but would it be risky if i stayed outside the US with combo card for 2 months in my home country?

Is there anybody who stayed outside the US for more than 2 months with Combo card and re-entered without any troubles?

    Thank you!

Were you able to speak to someone about the card? We were thinking about calling next week. Actually I perfer calling sooner rather than later hahah but idk how long to wait in order to be able to speak with someone

Yeah I was gonna wait till the first week of May but I just couldn't wait any longer so I called them today and was able to talk to someone about the card. It took less than 15 mins to talk to the customer service! I think you should call them tmw! The earlier, the better! Good luck :)

You can request an SSN on the I765. You probably don't realize that you did request it.

My SSN is not here yet but I did request it. It usually comes within the week of receiving the EAD.

I already have my SSN issued even before filing the adjustment of status so I did not request it but the thing is the names on the social security cards are different (The one is middle name included and the other isn't) but the SSN numbers are the same so more work for me lol I gotta go to the Social security administration to figure out which one I should use... oh well!

Note as well that I am talking about the statuses you receive from actually logging into egov.uscis.gov, not from any email notification and not from any 3rd party app. The wording and timing may be different if you are looking at emailed statuses and/or statuses that come from a 3rd party tracker but are connected to egov.uscis.gov.

I'm not talking about "Case History" at all.

My status has not changed but I got social security card mailed which I did not request but I assumed that USCIS requested? Is it also part of EAD process? Did you also get your social security card mailed right before getting combo card? Thank you!

Hello people! Newbie in this forum: kept looking for people in MN who were going thru AoS process and thought that there’s no one and formed an own forum for MN AoS dec 2018 filers. But I’ll be here I guess.

im dec 2018 filer for AoS and my combo card was just mailed today. Based off of reading people’s comments, I’m assuming I won’t hear about our scheduled interview until dec 2019 or Jan 2020?? Is the medical going to be valid until then. I got mine for k-1 process in my home country in May 2018??

    Hi

Im nov 2018 filer and still haven't got my combo card yet.

I actually got the approval notice by mail on April 9th and uscis status has not changed since April 5th. It still says "Case was approved".

How long did it take for you to get the actual combo card after getting the approval letter?

    Thank you!
