Well had my interview on tue's at Buffalo. Ended up getting there late, but everything was good.

Was told to sign in on first floor, did that, about ten mins, officer came out called my name......asked for my green card, driver's license and passport.

Took oath and she asked me to read a sentence and then write a sentence..Asked me my civic questions (6) in total...she then asked me some questions, didn't ask for any documents I had brought.Then she had me sign my photographs and sign a couple of forms...then read to me that I had passed and she would find out when I could go to Oath Ceremony ssooooooo

My ceremony is Feb 9th in Rochester Federal Building :dance: :dance: The journey is finally over

Just to add officer was curt, too the point, but not unfriendly..all in all a good experience

so my british fiance will hopefully soon be approved to come to the US on a K-1 visa. since i live very near to the canadian border in vermont, flying to montreal is a tempting (and sometimes cheap) idea. so we are thinking about having him fly into montreal and i would pick him up at the airport and then we would drive south across the border (stopping of course!) to head back home together.

i am wondering if anyone has experience or comments about entering at a CND/US land crossing as a non-canadian citizen on a visa, more specifically a K-1 visa holder?

a lot of the POE reviews for CDN/US land crossings seem pretty positive, so im interested in learning more.

and if there is a better place to post this sort of questions, please let me know!

I flew from Glasgow to Toronto..... heading for Rochester NY.... crossed at Lewiston bridge.. no problems, was in and out in about 15 min.

I always used that route, ..so did my mother and she had been coming here for 16 years.

Try CANADIAN AFFAIR AIRLINES.. they have good prices, and fly from Manchester too.

I txt my rellies in Scotland and they can txt me back

Just thought i would add to this post..

I received a letter the other day from HR dept at work stating i would be terminated on the 11th of this month cos my EAD would expire. I gave them my greencard and they photocopied it...

Guess i should have read this post first.. i didnt know not to show them it.. well anyway now i know..

My husband rang me at work in a tizzy telling me i was goin to lose my job and asking did i forget to renew something... he thought we had run out of time to apply for removal of conditions

So its obvious that HR dept staff dont know all the facts...

We just processed the K-1 about 3 weeks ago and I got the NOA1.

What she needs to do and where she needs to get her finger prints done?

What else she needs to have dome in Manila before she comes here?

Anyone got the steps that she needs to do to take the California NCLEX-RN test.

If she goes to a site called Allnurses. com, she will find all the information she needs. The process is just about as lengthy as the K1.. lol...

yeahhhhhhhh recieved my EAD card and AP in mail today

but got a question about the AP there is 2 forms , can anyone tell me what exactly do I have to do when I travel ?

I know i have to bring my marriage cert to prove name change ( and of corse passport ),

but about the 2 AP documents do I have to hand in both when I reenter the states , or just 1 ?

can anyone tell me there experience travelling with AP ?

I also got 2 copies of AP.. I took both copies with me when i went into canada. On entering back into US they took both copies, stamped one and gave me both back...... no problems encounterd......

I am so excited i just had to share it... I was interviewed today at local hospital for nurse tech position.. and i got it... ok its not my RN but that will come as soon as my verification paper are done and dusted and i can sit nursing exam.. but i,m so glad just to have a job and gain the experience over here :thumbs:

Not to mention having a salary again. thats the best part.. worst part is ..i was used to 8 weeks holiday time with NHS, here i get 2 weeks plus 6 days public holidays. :whistle: but hey, its a start...

Got an 'apex return' East Kilbride to London Victoria Coach station which is just a 10 minute taxi from the medical. Will have time for breakfast

Only cost £24! Beats a £170 flight and then a mad dash to get there and back on time.

Now I just need to hope I get my new passport and vaccination record before the 13th... The passport should be here before Thursday this week. God knows about my vaccination records though...
