  1. Hey guys anyone received their 1-797 NOA from USCIS for form I-751 and did NOT hear back from USCIS? I received my wife 1-797 since January of 2021 and it’s  saying that the case was received and conditional residency extended for 18 months. It is now June of 2021 and still didn’t get a letter for biometrics or anything which I know is the next step. Is anyone stuck place in the process too?

  2. Hey guys, I just have a question for anyone with insights that can maybe help me out. So I send my Form I-751 package to removed condition on residence to USCIS and it has been 6 weeks since it was delivered to their lockbox facility, however, I haven’t heard back from USCIS at all. I did not receive an NOA/ form I-797C. Should I be worried? Or is that normal for uscis to take this long to respond? I try calling uscis customer service but since I don’t have a case number I am unable to speak to a representative. The automated telephone system won’t give me the option to speak to a human. I do have an online account, up on checking that account I saw nothing on there. Also I had ask my bank about a week ago if the check I sent uscis was cashed and I got an answer of “no” . Does anyone know of a way to maybe get on to USCIS representative?

thank you so much for your response in advance!

    Hi,

Yes indeed they are supposed to mail you an I 797, but keep in mind that they are running on serious delays. In our case, they stated that they mailed the I 797 about 33 days after they received the package. Keep an eye on the check (cheque) that you mailed with the application. Is it a personal check? Have they cashed it?

Yes I figured with this whole pandemic things will be much slower, but was just curious how the process was going for others too. Anyway, to your question, about a week ago I asked an associate at my bank to see if my check was cashed but they said it was not. Next time I go back to the bank soon I will find out again.

    thanks for your response!

    Hi,

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but your application in all likelihood will be rejected due to applying too early. And due to the current government's rules, you are not even due a notice to let you know that your application is not accepted. For us, it took them about a month to actually open the package and cash the check (I believe I posted my timeframes on this thread), but the receipt date is the day the envelope arrived to the service center. I think it is very important for you to consult with a lawyer now, to see if you should send a new application or if you should wait and see what the outcome of this one is.

In regard to the I-797, according to them, they sent it shortly after opening my package (2 days later) and cashing the check, but I never received it and it was a true nightmare to get in touch with them, obtain our receipt number and request a replacement letter. We requested the replacement letter three weeks ago and we have not received it yet, but the case is visible in our online profile.

Now I am a bit worried. I though with this whole pandemic and stuff the mailing process would be slower so I mailed it out a few days earlier. However, it’s not that far off from the start of the 90 days, not even a week. I though you can mailed it 90 days from before the time of your PR card expires. I’ll just kept my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

  5. Hey guys,  I submitted my wife’s package of Removal of Permanent Residence, it was delivered today in Phoenix AZ. The 18th of November will be the start of the 90 days for my wife to file. I hope the package being delivered 2 days before the 90 days start time is not an issue.

Btw, I have a question for anyone that has submitted their package already. How long will USCIS takes to open that package and send out a letter? If you have gotten that far already.

Thank you for your response in advance!

Yes, those are the two you need.  I used FedEx and sent mine to the second address last week.

Hey thank you for the response. If you don’t mind, I have one more question. So my spouse and I will be filing jointly, I know  the application is mostly about the conditional residence spouse, however, my question is that when we prepare our package soon to be mailed out should the cover page be from my wife or as if I the U.S citizen had prepared the package?

thank you very much again for your response in advance!

  7. Hey guys for anyone that file their form I-751 already and if you did it by mail, is there only two direct address to mail it? When I check on USCIS.gov it shows this,

    Where to file

    U.S. Postal Service (USPS):

    USCIS
    P.O. Box 21200
    Phoenix, AZ 85036

    FedEx, UPS, and DHL deliveries:

    USCIS
    Attn: I-751
    1820 E. Skyharbor Circle S
    Suite 100
    Phoenix, AZ 85034

I lived in NY so I’m guessing this is the only two option for this form in terms of mailing it.

    thanks!

    My pleasure, happy to help.

We actually didn't receive any letters or notice advising us to file. And looking at how USCIS and the government in general are doing, we didn't expect one.

We went by the "resident since" date and filed a few days after the allowed date to avoid being rejected for "filling too early".

Besides the forms and check/cheque for the correct amount, we included copies of the permanent resident card, copy of our driver licenses/ID's showing the same address, copies of recent bank statements of our joint bank accounts, copy of our 2019 tax return (you should include the transcript if you can), a few pictures of ourselves from over the course of two years. Also evidence of our joint credit cards. We also have a business together, but I decided not to include that to avoid any confusion, as that kind of paperwork lends itself to interpretation.

If there is any follow up from them, I am ready to ship a second packet with that kind of information.

Okay great I have similar evidence too that we will be submitting. We will submit bank statements together, photos, copy of driver license, copy of permanent residence card, copy of joint tax transcripts, and we have a child together so birth certificate. Also, one thing we will submit that you didn’t mention is two affidavit of support of marriage, one from my sister-in-law and one from my father. I will take it to get notarize.  I hope that evidence will  Be enough. I  will keep updates on here and hope our information will be able to assist each other.

    thank you again!

I shipped ours last Tuesday Sept 1st and they received the envelope on Thursday Sept 3rd. As of today (Tuesday Sept 8th), they have not deposited the check. I will share the progress just in case it can be of help to anyone.

I'm a bit worried about all the news reports about the financial situation of USCIS and what it can mean for the process.

I still haven’t received any letter from USCIS yet telling us to file. Did you guys receive one prior? Also did you send lots of evidence in your package? If you don’t mind can you please say what are some of the things you send? Thank you so much for your time!

Hello,  I realize that everyone maybe different,  but once you get an approval at your interview what is the time frame when you have everything and can actually travel??

99 percent of the time after interview your green card is available for pick up within 3-4 business days. Once you have your green card in hands you can travel however, keep in mind that the green card expires in 6 months from the time it was approved. So you have to leave to the US within 6 months before it expires. I hope that helps.

He can pay before leaving Egypt or He can pay after arrival in the US. If he pays before leaving, he will get his green card a few weeks later. He doesn't pay before coming to the US, he will get a letter in the US to pay before they issue his green card.

    Read link below:

    https://my.uscis.gov/uscis-immigrant-fee/

Hi, just pay it after you arrived in the US. that’s what I did for my wife. After she came 2 days later I went online and pay the fee and she got her green card in a month and few days. This was recently, last month only. Also, the interview officer never told my wife to pay the fee or give her instructions nor did the officer at the port of entry. But I just went online and pay the fee and my wife got her GC. If I didn’t pay it they would have sent a instructions letter but it’s best to go ahead anyway and pay it to speed up the process. No need to wait  Hope that helps

Hey. After visa approval hows was the experience at port of entry. DO you tell them you are entering first time on immigrant visa and do they send you some where to process?. if officer at port of entry asks any questions or just prepare paperwork landing paper and process your green card? let me know the process to enter USA with immigration visa on. Thanks

At the port of entry all my wife did was that she went up to one of the Immigration officer sitting there and handed him the yellow sealed envelope with her passport the officer looked at the visa page in the passport then he opened the envelope and he looked at the papers and enter some stuff in his computer. When he finished he told her to go with another officer in a room that other officer ask my wife for her passport he then looked at it and stamp it my wife asked him if she was okay to go and he said yes you’re good. That’s all. 2 and half weeks later my wife SSN showed up in the mail. The officers never told my wife anything of how she will get her green card but I know they will send it in the mail too usually In a couple of months. I went online and paid the green card fee of $220 so now my wife wait for that. It said on USCIS website it takes 120 days. Anyway, the port of entry is a very easy simple quick process. Just have your passport with yellow envelope sealed and everything will be smooth and quick. No need to worry about that phrase of this whole process.

That is okay. I can assure you that his time around the immigration officer will see that you guys never gave up and they will see that it’s really love not business. It’s Love over business they will see its transparent. you guys stay optimistic. You will be fine this time around. As long as you meet your affidavit of support needs you’ll be fine. Just make sure to take updated everything to the interview. And copies.

He has gone for medicals in the past when he worked on ships and they were not that much but I wasn't sure if they medicals for the US/visa was that much more expensive?  I offered to send money.  But also kind of nervous about that too - are they checking his and my financials' and would that look bad like I am paying him?  I am just so stressed out and maybe over thinking everything, I just want the interview to go smoothly and get approved.

Hi  Doherty, aren’t you the sponsor of your husband? Medical isn’t cheap anywhere and you are to only go to a physician that is recommend by the US embassy in your country. Now YOU CAN SEND MONEY TO SUPPORT HIM IN PAYING THAT FEE IT WONT AFFECT YOUR VISA IN ANYWAY I promise you that. The government won’t pay no attention if you were to send money to him let say by western union they don’t go that far to check. All they care about is that Affidavit of support form with W-2s I  assumed you had already submitted to NVC that is all the financial info they will look at. My wife of whom i sponsor from Guyana i was sending money for her all the time I even send money for her to go in for visitation visa which she was denied I send money to support her I send money to pay for her medical about $400 Usd. If you are the sponsor and your are sending money to your foreign spouse that is a wonderful thing because it shows that you are supporting them. On the other hand, if your foreign spouse sending money to you in the US it might not be a good idea to let immigration know about that cause they will think he/she is paying the US sponsor for sponsor. Even if that was he case that the foreign spouse was send money trust me the government don’t look that far unless you bring it up at the interview or show them paper trace. You are stressing and overthinking this process too much s just relax and send the money to your husband and take my words you will be absolutely fine. I did it my self and my wife is here in the US with me now to live and I know many other’s that have done the same. I am positive about what I am saying.

    Hi,

Thanks very much. Appreciate your help. I did mention it on DS 260 and explained.

You got it. And you did the right thing. Keep on doing the right thing and soon your love one will be with you just how I have my wife with me 😊. I wish you all the best and take my words you will be just fine don’t stress the process. I did just that and everything turns out wonderful.

  16. Just now, Sweetyp said:

how about on DS 260 form where they ask have you ever been denied USA visa, did you mention previous visa denials and gave explanation?

Yes, you have to and you should mention any previous denial. That’s a MUST. You don’t have to give a lot of explanation. For example if you were denied a touris visa in the past just say for explanation “ I was denied a tourist or visitor visa in the past. That’s it. The immigration officer will know if you were denied in the past they can see it in the system however, they won’t asked you about it 99% of the time only if you were denied and don’t mention it in the DS-260 then that raises suspicion and questions as to why you did not asked that question on the form.

Hey, you said your wife was refused visitor visa. At the interview did they ask her anything about visitor visa refusal or anything?

Hi. No they did not mentioned anything about the visitor visa. Visitor visa has no bearing or standings with a CR1 visas. It really don’t matter if you were denied a visitor visa in the past unless if you were caught telling a big red lie at the time of your visitor visa interview and the officer at the time bar you instead of giving you a denial paper alone leaving the door open for another try.

Congratulations that explains why you didn’t reply to me on your time line. Guyanese mentality you ask questions gets your answers and doesn’t look back because your needs/interests were met. Best of luck to you both.

Thank you. I have been still active on this forum trying to help others with their questions and this process still even after my wife got her visas. Also, I did give an update on how the interview went and such on. Maybe you didn’t see it.

  19. Hey guys can anyone please help me. So my wife was approved of her CR1 visa on February 8 we picked up her visas and the sealed package on February 11 and on February 16 we traveled to the US. My wife went through the port of entry and all the officer did was he asked for the sealed package and stamps my wife visa page in her passport and he said you are good to go. Now my question is how is my wife going to get her green card? Wasn’t she supposed to receive a paper at the port of entry with instructions on how to pay the fees on how to get the GC? Or will they send a paper in the mail with instructions on how to get the green card?

Thanks for your response in advance. I would really appreciate anyone’s insight, especially from those who went through this process recently.

  20. Hey guys,

I am so happy to say that my wife visa was approved today. The interview process went very well. I was allowed in with my wife, we went through security then we were given our number and waited about 45 minutes then we were called in to go up to the window for my wife to have her finger print taken and stuff that took about 4-5 minutes. Then we sat back down and waited for about 30 minutes then we were called in for the interview itself. It was a very young  female officer that had interview us and she was very pleasant towards my wife and I. She ask my wife who’s her husband? Then she ask me what is my job position and where I work? Then she asked my wife when the last time she saw me? How we met? When did our relationship began? When we got married? Who was there? She ask my wife what I love to do in the US? If we got engaged? That’s was all she asked then she told us she will be right back and she came back with a pink paper and she said you have been approved of your visa to pick it up on the 15th. The interview from start to finish was only about 5-7 minutes.

I just want to say thank you to everyone here on visa journey. You guys are the best. You all were so willing to help in anyway and my wife and I would like to wish you all the best of luck on getting your visas, and we will still be here to answer any questions try to help in anyway we can. Once again thank you all great people on this forum. Btw my wife will be traveling back to the US with me soon!

Does your wife have immunization record from childhood? if she has a record from childhood vaccination then she can go to that panal physican and exaplin that she already received this shot and see that helps.  This vaccine is mandatory, and thats required by USCIS .

Hi yes, my wife does have an immunization record. My wife said that they told her after she gets her visa if she’s still in the country then she can go and get that vaccine on March first if not she can take it in the U.S.
