Hey, sorry that I've been asking too much about schools, I just wanna know as much before I can start preparing. First things first, I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I've heard somewhere that you need High School credits or something like that, and even to get into High School from Middle School you'd need to have some credits, again. I would like to know if you're an Immigrant (LPR / Permanent Resident F2A Visa) how would they go on by getting your credits from before you joined in?
Basically, I just wanna know how they'll "simulate" or "generate" other years before your year if you entered school at let's say 9th grade. How would they get the credits for 7th, 8th, and so on.
Sorry if my question's unclear, please lemme know if you've experienced this or have any idea, here's some things that I already know from previous answers:
They'll get my school records from where I lived (Egypt) or they'll test me, or do both.
I don't know if that also works on this situation.
Thanks! -
Eh not fully that haha, I just meant that I'm afraid if I don't get one thing right for example, I'd be placed in like, 5th Grade in one subject, then 9th grade in the other. But so far I think I know what I'll be doing, gotta spend the rest of my wait time basically on Khan Academy ehh? Lol, thanks for ya help lads. Cheers.
BTW I don't know what happens to solved topics, but this is basically it, all I wanted to know. Though if anyone has experienced the same scenario as I have, with an F2A/other student visas or whatever, then feel free to tell me what your experience was like so I can know what to expect. Just for re-assurance. -
Alright, so is there a chance they won't test me, cause I really have a fear of like, me not getting the proper answers, cause It's been a long time, so is there a way to know what tests they get, or are they all dependent on the school.
Also, I already have them in Arabic with me at all times, so we just have to translate them in the US probably so they'd know that I have studied till 7th grade and passed etc?.. -
Hey there, I'm really new here so excuse me if I don't make much sense, I'll be moving in the US pretty soon, not sure when to be exact, but we already got accepted, and case complete, and we're just waiting for the Visa Interview. Now what I wanna know is, what will I do when I go to the US, I am 15, should be in 9th grade, but I paused at 7th grade (For the Immigration process) - I'm aware that you will have to apply with your local school district, but what do they do from then.
Do they work off of your past school records (In Egypt), or do they give you exams to see what level you're at so they can put you in with other people your level.
That's my main question. Second thing is, what if I go in the middle of the school year. Will they just be able to let me go in normally, or will I have to do some catching up?
Thanks.
Question in regards to Schools/Grading

Yes I understand that, but I was asking if the US has like, Middle School credits that are required to be at a certain number before you can go to High School, if that is the case, then will they figure it out based on the tests?
I know it's a confusing question a bit, but it's because I've heard about High School credits/Middle School credits before you go to the next level.
