  1. Hello,

We did our F2A Visa Interview (Accepted)  on the 18th of December, it's been 32 days since then, and we haven't even received our passports back, we've called the US Embassy number, they then told us to just call another number, that number asked for a UID number, we tried the Aramex UID for shipment registration confirmation code, didn't work either...now it's getting irritating, I've even checked the CEAC site and it's still stuck on "Ready" as if we are still in the Interview process. This makes absolutely no sense.

I was worried this would be related to us not receiving a shipment number in hand before leaving the Embassy? (Only thing close to that is a "MAIL TRACKING NUMBER" and that didn't work on Aramex either)
Could this also be related to the US government shutdown?

  2. What's going on, we did the Interview the 18th of Decmeber, Aramex should've delivered it, they haven't even shipped it out yet.

Who should we call, what should we do, we're 3 F2A Cases (Sons of Permanent Resident) - We made the Aramex account before we did the Interview, actually what's going on here.
Is this even related to the US Government Shutdown, I checked the CEAC site (https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx) and it still didn't change from "Ready" and also, it was last updated the 23rd of December.

(This is in the US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt)

  3. It shows that for me aswell, I'm F2A and I already did my interview on the 18th of December 2018, but now it still shows "Ready" -  It's been 24 days, but it shows that it last updated on the 23rd of December, 5 days after..
No one has responded to my forum post,. I assume this would be sorta related, so that's why I posted this here.

    Cheers!

have you checked the CEAC website to see if it says issued yet?

Aramex will send you a text to your phone when it is ready for pick up, I would recommend if haven't already to check the online status by NVC case number.

I keep checking the CEAC site, it's still on "Ready" (as if we were in the Interview process)
I'm in Alexandria by the way, if that helps anything.

  5. We're F2A Visa Category (Sons of Permanent Resident) and we did our Visa Interview at the Cairo Embassy in the 18th of December. Here we are now, we did the Interview, got accepted! :) But here's the issue from the title, passport hasn't arrived, we are supposed to pick it up from an Aramex branch, we went there yesterday nothing even came up, they haven't even started the shipping process. We even tried calling the US Embassy in Cairo, they passed us to an automated number where they asked for a UID or BPT number? Not sure what the hell that is, if you know could you help out?

Our attorney and several people have said the same thing.  Just a small person with an angry mouth.  I would assume if someone was truly in the "Mafia", they wouldn't be verbally telling someone on the phone and continuing with the threats.  As you said, they would silently make it happen.  I truly truly hope and want to believe with everything I've got that we have nothing to worry about and this guy was just talking the talk.  I inquired about the expedite, because of course, like any normal concerned spouse, I want to get him out of there.  But if he has to wait it out, then he waits it out.  It is what it is.

    Thank you :)

Hey no problem, best of luck to you two. Hope it truly is nothing to  worry about, or even better. Let's hope you get to see him sooner. :)

  7. Sounds like your typical angry man trying to act bigger than what he can handle. He might be in a mafia, but like Loren said, I really doubt they'd get in police radar for just a dispute and just stack up bodies. You probably have nothing to worry about.
If he was in a big bad mafia, and had traced your phone since that call which I doubt he could do, then you probably would've been gone (or your husband) by now, because unless he wanted to pay extra travelling money with you guys then he'd just get done with it now.

I honestly feel like you could try and just use that, but I feel like there's more than likely nothing to worry about. Just my opinion though.

    1. Yes (bring a copy as they may want to keep it for their records)

    2. yes

    3. no need to ask - they will do whatever they do when you get there and register

    4. No, middle school ends when it ends and high school is a 'clean slate' so to speak. (The only link is that some kids are more advanced and do for example math classes in middle school that others will only do in high school, so some will be ahead, but again what class you can go into will be assessed on your past record anyway. But a high school transcript in the US will only has the high school classes and grades on it, nothing is carried over.)

You won't be able to transfer grades from an overseas school as far as i know. If you have already started high school and you go in later than a new freshman, then discuss with your counsellor about how they will calculate your grades, GPAs, college requirements etc.  Again, this is not unusual, many people do it, the school will have a system to deal with it. Actually your counselor will probably have a long session with you to explain everything anyway when you register at the school - that's what happened when we arrived - so you should be good!

Thank you so so much Susie, appreciate it :) That made it clear, thank you.

  9. Alright, so thank you all so much for replying, this made it better, so far what I can get is.

--When I go for my Medical (Still waiting for our priority date, we should be for Sept) get my vaccination records which come with the Visa Medical. Okay, sure.
-- I have my School Records but ones in Egypt, so I finished till 7th grade, took a pause and it's been 2 years, won't go too far into why we took a pause, long story. But I should be in 9th grade, most likely will be placed in 8th grade.

Lemme summarize what I learned so far from all your guys' comments (Appreciated btw)
    (1) Bring Visa Medical vaccination records (Do-able)
    (2) Bring School Transcripts (Do-able)
    (3) Ask the school district about what type of system they have for enrolling students who are Immigrants.
[Question/Unsure] ---> (4) That there are no "credits" for Middle School to go to High School?
So therefore they'd just work off my past grades from my past school records then they'd place me accordingly.

Another question so I can just be sure, will the grades from my past schools be put into my High School Degree? (Sorry I'm not familiar with how US School systems)
Or if they're not, then what's going to be a filler. ((If this was answered already please remind me again. I'm a bit tired, it's 11 AM here.)

I'm just really anxious about this fellas, don't mind me haha.

    Thanks in advance.
