  1. I went for an infopass appointment at Jackson, MS (Jan 14th) for Emergency AP due to my father passing away. Got to Jackson...they don't process emergency AP....so they gave me a list of instructions to send my application to the New Orleans office (overnight) for processing. Today I get a call from the New Orleans office telling me that they are sending my application to MSC for processing (i think thats where she said) and wanting my credit card details so they could overnight mail it. The lady said I should have AP by friday....though i'm not confident! I'm totally kicking myself now as I should have asked more questions....and should have asked for the fedex tracking number...grrrrrrr. Is there a way I can get the tracking number from fedex? Surely as I used a credit card to pay for it they could find it for me?

Has anyone had anything simular happen to them?

  2. Okay...the New Orleans office just called me and they are now sending my Emergency AP application to another office to process it...I think she said MSC. They called to get my credit card details to send it overnight mail. The lady said I should have it back by friday. Thats now $66 on mailing!!! What was the point in them telling me to send it to New Orleans if they weren't going to process it! I'm starting to worry that I wont have AP in time for my flight on sunday.

  3. Well Jackson, MS doesn't do Emergency Advance Parole...so I was told to send everything to New Orleans overnight and I should have my AP by thursday...although I just read on the USCIS website that New Orleans doesn't accept applications by mail. But as I was told to send it there...and they did give me an official list of instructions for sending it there...well...im hoping it was the right thing to do. If not...i'm going to be pissed!

  4. Well....i'm absolutely devastated. My Dad died last night. I have booked an infopass appointment for Monday 14th Jan at 10am....my husband and I leave for England on Friday 19th.....with or without AP.

    R.I.P Dad. I love you.

am so sorry for your loss , stay strong i know its easier said then done , but we are all here and be your shoulder to cry on , our thought are with you and your family

( I know bad time to bring this up , but I dont know if your aware of it , when you go for infopass they will ask for effidance for the emergency AP, if its not already done maybe someone of your family can fax you a statement from the hospital reguarding the family tragedy ) :(

Thank you for your support everyone. I really appreciate it.

My Mum is going to the hospital tomorrow morning (Enghlish time) to get the death certificate...and then fax it over to me. Hopefully I will get it in time for my 10am appointment. It takes 2 hours to get to the field office....so I will need to have it by 8am at the latest. Luckly there is a 6 hour time difference which will give me a chance to get it in time.

Does anyone know if its possible that I might get my travel document on the same day? If not then i'm screwed as I wont be able to go get it on another day.

  5. Security take your mobile from you at the gate and give you a ticket so you can get it back when you leave. I used to use a mobile phone network called Mobile World....the sim cards are only sold at the Carphone warehouse for 10 quid. It's 5p a minute to US landlines and cell phones.

  6. not sure you can try putting MSC in front of those numbers

I hope I don't get sent to New Orleans for my bio appointment.......Jackson, Mississippi is way closer.

go here put in your zip and it will give you your local office..

Yeah, I know my local office is New Orleans....but I read a post somewhere where someone got their bio appointment at an office that was nearer to them instead of their actual "local"office. So...I might get lucky!
