To clarify, she called at around 5:30-6:00pm in the evening (Pacific Time).

wow..i saw your timeline and it says your BIOMETRICS is waived? Why is that? Are you a senior citizen? I had asked you because I'm processing my dad's N400 very soon and he is 76 y/o already. It says that biometrics is waived, but I am not sure if they meant the fee only or is the whole in-person biometric itself waived? Please enlighten us.

Thanks a lot and congratulations !!!!

My interview is in a little under two weeks. I am filing for citizenship under the 5 year rule. My GC is marriage based. Got married in December 2016. Received 2-year green card in June 2017. Applied for removal of conditions sometime in 2019 and it was approved in September of 2020 and got my 10-year gc. We ended up filing for divorce in January 2021 and it was finalized in March 2021. I applied for the N400 on June 24. I got my interview notice for a September 20 interview. What do I bring other than the interview letter, my green card, divorce decree and passport? Selective service doesn’t apply to me. I was planning on bringing our old marriage certificate. Do I need to bring my ex’s birth certificate? We are still cordial so I would ask her for it but she’s been backpacking in Europe for the past 4 months and will not be back in the US until early October. She would probably be ok with her dad letting me in to get it from her place. My documents from my I-751 are digitized so I can easily print them out and bring them with me, but will they even be needed? It’s about 150 pages of evidence of the marriage plus the application and cover letter.  I also have a physical copy of the I-130 she applied for me and my I-485 somewhere in my files that I can bring too. That packet was significantly smaller.

Should I bring evidence of the dissolution of our marriage? I can print out texts back and forth between and us when we were discussing separating and the state of our relationship and the change in her plans for the future.

I want to come in and be prepared but I also don’t wan’t to overwhelm myself with too much paperwork.

I wish nothing but the best for your interview. If I may ask; where did you file your N400? How lucky you must be because you filed it on 6/24 and interview set for 9/20, like this same year? That would be just 3 months? Just out of curiosity too; when  you applied for N400, when did you get the biometrics done? I hope you answer me because I am asking for my dad. He has a flight back to Manila on 11/12 and I'm thinking if I'm gonna push with  his N400 application now, and hope that he will be biometrics before 11/12, and just be waiting in Manila until hopefully his interview when he comes back here on 5/1. If I apply him now, it would be a little over 8 months waiting for his n400. I was also hoping to reschedule his interview in case he gets called before 5/1. I guess, I was just trying to ask for the timeline this year 2022 if you could shed some of your N400 timeline experience; I would really appreciate it. Again, good luck bro and you got this!!!

Hi! My husband and I got our case complete with NVC in May of 2019. We are still waiting to get the interview in Juarez. I was wondering who has recently went through this and how long it took you to get the interview? I understand it’s a long wait, but is it over a year?

My husband's NVC was Jan or Feb 2019 and we got the email notification for US Visa Interview Appointment Jan 4th.  It took us about 11-12 months.  His interview date is tomorrow Feb 12th.  I scheduled his biometrics there for yesterday Feb 10th Monday.  He did the medical first thing in the morning - which is just a walk-in basis and no need for appointment, then got the result around noon time, then did his police certificate there, then biometrics at 410pm.  If I were you, if you would schedule the biometrics, to make sure you do it the last appointment so you would have plenty of time to wiggle, coz he got there 5 mins to his appointment.  Today 11th, his rest day and his interview tomorrow is at 745am.  By the way, he only paid $298 for his medical, 'coz I made sure he has all his vaccines and all lab records they would need for his vaccines and immunization requirements.  I just got surprised why they still required him to do the flu shot when we always get it yearly here at Kaiser and his was late September 2019 and he was told that it already expired.  I guess it's business, so you gotta make sure you are on top of your medical 'coz it can get hefty.  Others there paid $400 to $600+ so remember what I told you and thank me later.  If you need lists of vaccines, let me know.

  4. I used the previous year 2018 since I haven't filed mine for 2019 yet and btw, it's easy, just go to their website and register and you can actually download everything from their website on IRS.  You can see your tax account, tax records, tax transcripts and all and it's super easy.  All your tax reports are on there.  As for my last year's income, I used my year-end tax report from my employer and that should be fine too.  So I gave my spouse my year-end tax report from 2019 and previous 2018 IRS transcript.  They pretty much only accept the one from IRS Transcript since it's the only legit source, imo.

Does anyone have an upcoming interview in cuidad Juarez? My CC is 02/19/19. I want to update how long it’s taking to receive interview notice.

What do you mean by CC?  By the way, we filed for NVC application for GC visa interview in Jan 2019 and got a notice for interview just recently 1/3/2020 and his interview will be on 2/12/19 at CDJ.  It took us 1 year to get the notice.  That's been the trend now.  Don't lose hope, you will get your letter pretty soon next month too hopefully.  What I did was bug them in the past 1-3 months.  It does not hurt to just go to NVC online and submit inquiry on your status and I think by the time you even get a response in like 30-45 days, you would have already received your interview date letter.  They replied to my inquiry after 45 days.  Most of the people on here say it is 1 year now.  Few months ago, the trend was like 8-11 months and I guess, it's getting longer and longer.  Good luck....!!

Ok so our priority date is September 14th 2019, we’ve been waiting for an interview at Ciudad Juarez since then. Is there anything I should be doing so I don’t miss anything from now until we receive an interview date? I’m assuming the list is long for those waiting an interview.

In the letter it mentions about checking the visa bulletin for updates but I honestly think understand it.
Can anyone help clear my mind??
    Thank you in advance.

    -Janett

Guys on here are right that the waiting for interview nowadays is 1 year pretty much exactly.  We submitted our NVC application in Jan 2019 and got a notice for our interview Jan 3, 2020 after 12 months and my husband's interview will be 2/12/20.  Just be patient.  We were impatient too, but we can't do anything about it.  Just try to find fun time together with your husband.  go hike, out of town, etc hehe... good luck...   He is going to CDJ too.  Monday will be Medical in the morning and biometrics in the afternoon.  Tuesday will be police certificate.  Wed at 745am is his interview at Ciudad Juarez and visa/passport will be delivered in the same location too, so we could hopefully get it the next day or Fri or even Sat.  If everything goes well, he will be flying back home to San Jose Sunday that week.  So we planned on 1 week and hopefully it works.

Hi there, does any know how many times they update the case status before it is approved?  My status date had been stuck on 10/14/2019.  I just checked and it now reads 01/15/2020.  This would be the 3rd update since submitting forms for I-130 spouse on 07/24/2019.  Hoping it is a good sign.

It took us exactly 1 year to get approved.  Filed September 2016, got approved September 2017, then filed I-601a waiver later that year 2017, then again 1 year 2018 got approved, then Jan or Feb filed for NVC for interview/GC at consular in Mexico, then took us 11 months to get interview letter and his interview will be 2/12/20 which would have been 1 year from the notice that they received our NVC application for GC visa interview.  Good luck and now it is slower, than more than 3 to 5 years ago.  The trending now is up to 1 year waiting for everything pretty much.  For us, it is 1 year per application.  We are almost there and 4 more weeks to go for interview.

Hi, we just got our interview letter too

    Go to this link

    https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Supplements/Supplements_by_Post/CDJ-Ciudad-Juarez.html#medical_exam_instructions

Step one helps you get registered and your biometrics info.

Thanks man.  I figured it already after searching online.  I clicked the link and it took me to Mexico embassy website and I was able to register and create his account there.  I entered all info and I was even able to see his consular interview appointment there and then I scheduled his Biometrics there as well at the same location in CAS Ciudad Juarez and also put that address where to receive his passport with his stamped visa (hopefully).  Now, we are just going to prepare and we already called the lady there who will accommodate us and will charge us $40/night, which is not bad at all, and that she will be guiding my spouse throughout his stay there too and will also pick him up and drop him back off to El Paso airport.  I guess everything is in control now.  We will update here after the interview and how everything went.  Thanks guys for your help.

and yeah man, that was the exact website I went to yesterday and was able to click register and everything went smooth... it was super easy....

Follow the official instructions you received from the consulate.

Thanks.  Yes, I looked closely to our email notification with the attached pdf file, it did not mention there about the biometrics.  They just literally just said to click links leading to visa page telling you about the interview process.  No mention of biometrics there.  Now, I am researching on the web and found the link for biometrics in Ciudad Juarez how to do it.  They are closed now, they are only open on weekdays and Saturday until 3pm in local time but it's about 415pm.  They have website, so we'll check that out.

Congratulations!!! Can you let us know once you get your appointment for the interview, to see how long it takes after your approval please, thanks!

I'm back after so long.  Thanks man.  How did your application go?  Okay, so we got our waiver approval last quarter of 2018, but my attorney did not submit application to NVC until Jan of 2019 and we got NOR from NVS 2/26/19 that application is received and complete and that we were to wait for the interview date which took forever and until just yesterday 1/3/20, for again 11 months lol, we finally got NOTICE FOR INTERVIEW which is set on 2/12/20 at CIUDAD JUAREZ.  Now our question is everybody is saying that he needs to get biometrics 1st at least 1 day before the said interview, so we don't know how to schedule for it.  Do you know how to do it?  It did not say in the notice letter that we needed to do Biometrics prior to the said interview.  We were told that the consul won't interview us without that biometrics first.  Any info on this one will be highly appreciated guys.  Thanksss...  Patience is indeed a key.  We feel like we're nearing there to the end of the road!!!

  11. I need your help guys.

    My husband's info:

    Preference Category: IR1

    Priority Date: 30-SEP-16

Received our NOR that NVC received our application and was in queue for appointment interview: 2/26/19

Received an email notification of his interview date scheduled for 2/12/20 (WED) at CIUDAD JUAREZ: 1/3/20

Applied I-130 September of 2016, got approved a year later sometime last quarter of 2017, then applied for waiver, then got approved 1 year later sometime last quarter of 2018, applied for 260 and received NOR on 2/26/19 for the said interview queue and 1/3/20 received a notice that we are in line for the interview for 2/12/20 AT CIUDAD JUAREZ.

Our question is, we just received that notice of interview, but we have been hearing a lot that we would still need to schedule a biometrics there in Ciudad Juarez at least 1 day prior to interview.  Is that true?  Because, it did not say in our instructions that we need biometrics.  Also, my attorney said that we don't need it and that he already filed DS-260 and that is why we are approved already and all we need was just the interview, but the lady from Mexico we spoke to, told us that we need to have Biometrics first, on top of medical and police certificate, before he can even be interviewed.  We were recommended to this lady because our friend went there last year of January too and he went with this lady, whom he paid just $40 per night and that she was good and had assisted him all throughout his stay there, so we thought of going with her too.  If we have to do the biometrics, just to make sure, how do we do it then?  How do we schedule it on our own?  Lady said to have our attorney do it for us since we have a representative, but that my attorney even said that we don't need that, so we thought of doing it on our own.  My question is do you guys know the process to go about doing it?  Can you give me the link?  I need to know and plan this ASAP while the SOUTHWEST tickets are still cheap going to El Paso, TX from San Jose, CA.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

    Thank you.

  12. In our case, I hired an attorney 'coz I know waiver can be very complicated and we don't wanna risk it.  Our case took us 11 months in the making.  What's even stupid was, I remember we went to our atty and if I'm not mistaken we submitted our application together with the atty sometime in September 2016 and knowing that we have attorneys, so we didn't really pay attention.  I heard that it would only take like 3-6 months the most, but for some odd reason, we got the notice of receipt on January 18, 2017 and biometrics done in February, so we were happy thinking that wow, it is gonna be smooth sailing and we were just like, oh okay, give it 1-3 months and we will get the results.  But dang, the long waiting game started.  Like, I called and emailed or submitted request online 2 or 3x until the last one, they finally approved it.  I also called the NVC and they said that it was actually sent to Lee's Summit, MO and so that's why I joined this forum to see what's the current update.  Most of the people here earlier this year were through Nebraska and I see 3-6 months and they were approved already and in fact if you go to USCIS website, it says there 4-6 mos or 6-8 mos something like that and most of them get approval in 5-6 mos, rarely 8 mos max, but here I am 9 or 10 mos already with nothing.  When I called NVC, they said that LEE'S SUMMIT don't have timeline in their office, so I'm like, dang, screwed that they can just let us wait forever should they want to and so I kept bugging them until the last request I made, we finally got the approval and we got an email and we checked on our USCIS case status that it is updated there too instantly, no delay, whatsoever.  Only minor mistake, 'coz online says it was approved Dec. 4th but the I-797 Notice of Approval letter that we received that week says that the date of approval is DECEMBER 3, 2018 so there you have it, it took us almost 11 months, grrrrh.  As far as the DS-260, I also bugged my attorney to please file it while we're getting close to 8 month but they just filed it I think on our 9th or 10th month and we got a letter/notice from USCIS regarding the receipt I think, so I guess, our atty filed the DS-260 just in time for the expected approval, so I guess it was perfect timing.  The problem with filing DS-260 prematurely is that they will schedule you right away for the consular interview without even looking at your WAIVER approval 'coz that's not their job.  USCIS has to notify NVC, I think 'coz that's bureaucracy and that's how they work.  If you file the DS-260 you are gonna have a problem and things will get more complicated and costly.  So, my advice is, based on our experience, is to wait up until your waiver is approved or at a very latter date.  Now, we are just waiting for our consular interview and that one too, we don't have a way of knowing whether they are working on it or not.  My question here for others who have been in this situation is, how do you follow up?  Do I call NVC and ask them, hey, have you received our DS-260 or are we missing anything or is there any incomplete stuff?

So, we were just really patient and we were like okay, we waited this long, so let's just a little bit longer anyway we are not rushing things and we are just kinda going with the flow.  Good luck on us.

  13. Thank God.

    I-601A received - 1/18/18

    Biometrics Feb 2018

Submitted status update requests 2x sometime in August and November 2018

Approval via USCIS website and email - 12/5/18

Waiting for the Consulate Interview and our immigration atty already filed us the DS-260 last month November I think.

Hoping for a positive outcome on all of this.  It took us 11 months for approval on our waiver which was submitted in Lee's Summit, Missouri and when we called the NVC, they said that Lees Summit does not have timeframe so it is a bummer if you update on your case status not like Nebraska, huh, but it's all worth it, now we can just move forward.

    Stay positive and patient guys.

  15. Hi,

    New here. My spouse info:

    I-601A Received Date:      1/18/18

    I-601A Biometrics Done:  2/12/18

    Filed in:  San Jose, CA

    With immigration lawyer

Started Application of I-130 in September 2016 and September 2017 got approved

We waited for NVC to tell us that we can proceed with application and in January 2018, we started filing the I-601A and until now, no response yet of approval of the waiver.  We are on a same sex marriage.  I was wondering, so if this gets approved, what will be the next step and for how long will be the next process and how much?

Thanks guys and I do hope we all come out positive of this.

    Roger
